I've now witnessed the Demonologist in action, and...they're totally fine. In order for Aslya to have the pet be effective she has to consume pretty much every single spell per day, to the point where if a mob decides to ignore her pet and go for her, there really isn't much she can do about it. |
| Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant. | |

No, I get mopped in the Abyss. 1) In Brux, it was Phlegethan; I updated only on the ice plane. 2) Only grasslands. And on the ice plane, we sometime killed the one giant outside the cave, but it was very borderline; we managed to do that without any deaths at the very end of the session only, and entering the cave was out of question. 3) Gatecrasher. 4) Good because of it's decent AC + Mirror image and reliable AB once buffed. Also, she got fey as favored ennemy. She was inflicting criticals around 50dmg; while it's not bad for that level, she's more of a tank. 5) I don't remember exactly, but it was roughly Heroism (then Greater), Greater Mage Armor, Keen, Protection against alignment, Bull's Strenght, Stoneskin and so on. I basically get and use all useful buffs I can on her. Then, on the party. Hence the fact that I'm left with very few spells to use; I do keep some for when I'm in a pinch, but again, I'm mainly becoming my pet's pet. Except Jambi and his friends, everyone I played with found the erynie good but not overpowered. As a matter of fact, I leveled as easily with Aslya (Half-Fiend bard with an unoptimised build) and way more easily with my ghaele. |

The fact that you can "Cheese" something should not be a measure of the how, or when, it should be nerfed.... The class (all classes really) needs to be good for all sorts of players, not just power builders and cheese mongers. |

On my Demonologist spellsword pretty much every time I fought something they would all go for the Incubus, despite the fact that I aggroed them first. It's probably the AC seek script, which is an annoying as *** script btw. |

Dear Orlitoq I have read that sentence several times now. But i fail too see how you connected my statement about cheese and needing a nerf? Since the only thing im stating there, is that it can be cheesed. Please, would you mind pointing out, where exactly you are reading the word nerf? Actually Orlitoq.. or anyone, could you point out too me where exactly i have ever said that the class needs to be straight up nerfed? or when i actually used the word Nerf in my previous posts? I would very much appreciate it. I do not see how your post above, contributes anything too the whole discussion. Now, when all your guys are done defending the class.. and about how it should not get nerfed holding eachothers hands in protest. Could we please continue the discussion on how we can perhaps fine tune the demonologist a little? Fine tuning means too me, too make the class where it is jsut about right in the low / mid and end game content. Since some made the observation that its too weak in the end game right? But too me it seems the discussion is turning toward Demonologist needed a buff only. So it is strong from level ~8-30. Wich brings me back too the original point why i opened this discussion. Scaling with other classes. If you have looked for any such words as TUNE DOWN / NERF / MAKE WEAKErR in my posts etc, and cannot find them. I hope you realise the discussion is about fine tuning.. not nerfing. Nerfing it is not something i brought up. Nerfing means making in weaker/ takign things away.. with nothing in return... wich in most cases never turns out well. Anyways, lets keep it civilized. Arent we all allowed too an oppinion? Is it realy needed too jump on small things a person says with a counter argument?

I am now 26, and it seem to me that it's fine as it is. No fine tuning needed. It started strong, because I got it way sooner than most chars, being human. It's still fine, but not overpowered, nor underpowered. Maybe it'll start to be lacking on Porphatys; we'll see. [Edit] Confirmed. On Porphatys, the erinye is worthless; her AB is too low to hit, even buffed. |

This sounds like maybe an Epic feat should be added that gives the top level Summon one more boost to handle itself in the last area's or otherwise the class will pretty much just be used to as a way to pool abunch of innitial experiance and enritch the character before doing a full rebuild. |

Thats what i was thinking as well. It is not hard too make a human demonologist and get too level 20 or so, without having too spend much jinks. And then rerolling a build that heavily relies on equipment too be sufficient at leveling. But its realy upto the person how he wants too play the game. |

Not too hard to make a human favored soul/paladin build and sprint to 20 either. Doing some testing though, what I discovered was that these erinyes somehow has smarter AI than other monsters, including the incubi. I mean, it's really nice to see an NPC using its powers properly, but that definitely explains the superiority over the incubus, who I may have to tweak to put more in line with the girls. In the head-to-head, he spent several rounds doing stupid things, all the while the erinyes kept smacking him so by the time he was ready to fight back he was down to half his hit points. My favorite though was making her fight the Astral Deva summons from Gate, who was smart enough to keep dispelling her. Still, in doing some "pokemon battle" testing, I think I've got what needs to be done to both summons: possibly a slight AC decrease and different favored enemies for the erinyes, and a rework of the incubus so he doesn't depend on the power attack/frenzy combo of stupidity. |

I dont know if this is related, but since the update. the AI on the Guardian Naga has declined. It used go straight spell casting mode unleasing about 20 spells and backing away in distance to do it. Now its started use one or two spell and goes into melee. |

Is it at all possible that we could have those model choices for the Erinyes PC race? Those black wings, and being able to use a human appearance set, would make an Erinyes a much more attractive option at character creation. For people who prefer the monster model we already have, perhaps an appearance swap form like vamps have? |

Lucadia: there have been no changes to the AI scripts. What you can do, however, is go into your summon's examine and change the settings on the behavior tab. There are options where you can tell it to take a ranged combat approach, and determine how it casts as well as its feat usage (for instance, if you get an annoying summons who pauses to turn power attack on). LadyLightning: the problem with this is that the wings have to have individual models set up to apply color to them for a PC, while creatures created in toolset with the angel and devil wings can easily have their wings tinted because we use a special cloak model. This model is not included in-game both because we'd soon have everyone with wings, and also because you'd be unable to to have both your wings and, say, a nice cloak you found. |

I am sticking too my guns. I made it too level 12 and got the Canian Erinyes. Flipped over too GC made a party of 3 all around the same level, and went ice planes. Buffed up the pet, stacking invis spells instead of offensive spell. Went too frost salamanders, invis on myself and ran up too a spawn. The erinyes would take all the spawn on her, tanking it without taking a scratch most of the times. Other players just pick them off one by one, while the erinyes stood there evading blows and dealing them out. Single ice giants was little diffrent, the Erinyes did take some damage but overall was capable of solo taking them out i believe. Tanking two frost giants on GC got a little iffy, and the pet did rely on teammate damage too take them out quick enough. But overal it was way too easy, and we needed more foes at once too get looted up. So we went to the Astral planes. Same deal.. invis up and run in, gather the stuff around the Erinyes rinse and repeat as we did in ice planes. The mirror images the pet casts before battle helps out even more with tanking. But on the astral planes, the pet did seem too have taken damage after a couple of spawns. Overall observation, the pet is a very good tank and dmg dealer. And it made things extremely lucrative without too much fear of dying and losing things. I think i was the only person that died once, since i did not notice my invis was out, and triggered 3 spawns too try push the limit.. got slowed and couldnt make the backline.. and had nothing but a dagger, ice ring and fancy hat equipped. At least i died stylish ![]() Partymembers do help out alot with damage too speed things up. Almost have the level (15) for the Nessian Erinyes now. And most of the crucial spells for buffing protection, wich i did not have yet on Ice planes. And flipped all the spoils i made into some items i wont have to upgrade for a long time. Persistant spell isnt too far away, wich will allow me too remove some backup protection spells from memorization and load up otherwise very short buff on persistance too help the pet even more... and a few more offensive spells. I am human, and i did trade in feats for demonologist wich i probably would not have taken if it were not prerequisites. But the quick too master feat gave me something back too. By being a wizard i still get alot of meta spell feats too catch up. A bard or Sorc might struggle a little more from having limited spells. Im realy looking forward too see what area is up next, and where it will end. But.. server down
