I wanted to finally get a set of items for my Demonologist's Erinyes since she got her final upgrade, but I am still very afraid to invest probably most of my character's gold in items that I can so easily lose if my internet lets me down for more than a couple minutes (which sadly happens often enough, Brazilian internet is probably one of the worst if not the worst). I was wondering if it would be possible for me to have all items screenshotted for a possible refund as a "safety measure" in cases where they could be lost not due to me having the Erinyes killed and not being able to reach her remains again, but in situations out of my control, like the internet problem described. Could I hear opinions from players/EMs/DMs on that? I would like to know if it sounds like a sort of favoritism or if this is the kind of thing I shouldnt ever take for granted. Thanks. |

In the past any items given to summons/henchmen has been pretty much unrefunded. It sounds like it would lead into a lot of refunding when everyone does it, because why not if it's guaranteed. Thus leading to high increase in administrative time not spent on something more productive. Generally speaking a good rule of thumbs is to equip them only with items you are willing to lose due to the unreliability of nwn2 in general. |

Not to mention, we don't really want every summoner having a pet equipped with Gnarlthorn or a Shard... |

For reference, she (and the Faction henchmen, at least the Doomguard) will certainly drop all her loot on death. If you crash, a reasonable alternative is to have her OOCly murdered. |
| Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant. | |

Would a summon/henchman killswitch be possible to implement? Never had too much trouble getting summons to stop being alive, but it'd be convenient to have the option to save some time. |

Yes, I know that, even tho some attack spells will not work on the Erinyes, I had to kill her OOC a couple times when I was testing if she would accept shields, which weapons, armor, etc. The problem is that if I lose connection (or crash) she despawns after a certain amount of time. If its a crash, no big deal, I can manage to log back in. If I lose connection and my internet takes longer than, say, 15 minutes to return, she will be gone with all items. But its ok, I was in doubt and the DMs shone in to say it is supposed to be like that, so no items for her sadly =( As for the killswitch, it would make things more practical and less immersion breaking than casting 3 Polar Rays on her when others are present. So it would be a QoL improvement, but nothing essential IMHO. What would be absolutely fantastic would be something similar to the Merchant Wand, but instead of copying items into a chest, providing the Erinyes with copied items from your inventory. But even as I say that I can see the problem of killing the summon and getting said items (unless it is possible to tag the summons as Non Drop). |

As much as in your case it isn't particularly gamebreaking, if they were to allow "autoequip set" wands for henchmen, it would make a very large number of already well established characters basically double in power. My oldest character (who can already solo the entire game) would suddenly be able to equip his henchmen with equipment that would make them better than most PCs at zero risk and practically zero cost. I think "my pet can solo your entire party blindfolded" is something that leads to players feeling powerless and frustrated. e: Oh! The killswitch is probably a good idea though. |

Ah yes, I can certainly see that. I confess I was looking at it from a new player perspective. And dont take me wrong, with my usually unstable connection and lack of knowledge of the server and creatures and areas, I dont think Yskandar would have reached his level without the Erinyes, she is that good already. |

Dogo, you should have a feat called "release binding". Keep that on your quickbar, as it's a single-click unsummon for your henchman. Blackguards and shadowdancers get the same feat, while golem masters can rest and re-use their control device to unsummon. Meanwhile, the thugs and slaad stones and mechanids all generate an unsummoning device (looks like a feather) in your inventory. |

Technically its possible to tag a weapon within the inventory and "lend" it over to the henchman and thus not loosing it. Rasael from bgtscc did this to an unreleased golem crafter PRC. |

Yes it's possible to equip summons/henchmen, you need the NPC control tool from OOC room store to manage that. A bit fiddly system. It's not that making "illusionary" items is mechanically impossible, that's a technique utilized in the merchant chest system already. The problem is that in doing so, you're going to increase the power of summons even more... risk free. And I for one already think most of the summons are too powerful as they are. Besides it's an okay money sink if some items do get lost here and there, and yes that is a good thing... maybe not for the casual player, but serverwide economy benefits from money sinks as it creates further demand for items rather than allowing players get all they need gradually which is already very achievable goal. Kill switch sounds okay. |

I use the Release Binding already Ceremorph, the killswitch being mentioned is because of recovering items mostly, because if you Release the Erinyes the pretty bird of vengeance flies away with your items =) As for the summons, in my NWN1 and 2 experience, in PWs they are usually kind of worthless (mainly the vanilla ones) or considerably powerful (custom summons as here). Currently Yskandar is lvl 26, her final upgrade looks great and is very very useful, but the Brachina Hellknight is miles away in power (and that is not a bad thing! I am just comparing). As for gradually collecting items, it is much easier with casters or even melee higher ECL races IMHO. Call me casual eh Mr_Otyugh, 1v1 me brah! (ugh, sorry, bad FPS joke, I'll leave now) |

The whole concept behind the level 9 summons is that you ARE conjuring something potentially more powerful than yourself, which is why you only get three minutes of summon time, half as long as you get with the summon 8. However, due to certain requests I will be removing the disjunction spell from her this update (and the other level 9s as well). The Noble Marid will be losing Extract Water Elemental as well, because we don't want summons having summons (which this qualifies as); he's getting a second use of Mass Drown in its place. And yes, Otyugh matches what I said before. You take that L9 and give it the ability to have, risk-free, Justice or a Flame Shard, and suddenly it's ready to solo bosses. Definitely do not want that, so offer your summons that 15K weapon at your own risk. |
