So I've been playing almost solely as a Winter Wolf on the server, though I have tried the dragon and clay Golem as well, and have noticed a rather large gap between their AC/AB compared to their ECL counter parts. Now i'm sure some of this has to do with my build, i'm by no means an expert in such things, But there are some imbalances that I think could be rectified. Firstly, Is there a particular reason why a magical enhancement to a creatures Natural armor will not magical enhance said creatures natural armor? I understand how high of an AC something such as a dragon would be able to achieve, but if for instance we look at the Yuan-ti halfblood, the +3 is hardly recognizable once you have gotten basic equipment. To a further extent, the +5 received by the winter wolf is a nice early game bonus, yet this is something easily replaced by items. Seeing as creatures don't have access to shields, could it be reasonable to perhaps lower the Natural armor they have from thick skin but allow it to stack? Secondly, I know it has been brought up before, but is there any chance of reconsidering the ability to add enhancement bonus' to creature weapons? Even as a purely melee character with nearly as high of an AB i could reasonably achieve, I'm still nearly 10 or more lower then my ECL counterparts, a large some of such are from +5 weapons (some even +6 or 7 vs certain things). While there are scrolls one could buy to help counter this some (i.e. GMF scroll which only gives +3) the effects are very short duration (9 mins) and are quite expensive to maintain short of being and or having a Druid/ranger to follow you around (Also only met one druid thus far ). If we look at an artifact which may reach upwards of +5 ab which may be worth around 45k and then to the nearly 200 jinks a dispellable GMF scroll is worth (not to mention the 20+ some UMD just to use such a scroll) We are looking at 33 in game hours worth of scrolls before you begin out spending the cost of an artifact. On this point, I know a necklace with GMF uses was mentioned as a potential item to add, Is this something that has been considered? Anyways, kind curious what people think, but please don't blurt out things unless you have spent a considerable amount of time as one such creature (upwards of ecl 25) |

Yes, that necklace can drop now and has 50 charges greater magic fang (9) with 1 charge/use. You can also enchant your natural weapons by yourself if you have the feat and casterlevels. |

so really your best option as a creature be level as a caster, enchant your weapons, then relevel as the classes you intended ! |

If you can enchant your own fangs then why couldn't some one enchant your fangs IRP? and if thats the case then would it not be possible for a DM or EM to simply take whatever from an enchanter and add the whatever to the fangs? Or is this simply a flaw in the game mechanic and fangs should never be enchanted? |

I hereby suggest crafting blueprints that are used on a target creature instead of a target item. It would be spreading out skills more but I could see the Heal skill being a further skill requirement if balance is a concern. I see no reason ICly why Byronius can't tinker with Yuki's fangs if Yuki is willing to hold still through the dentistry long enough. They're really just daggers made of enamel and bone- not that hard to work with if the situation is cooperative.Edit: This would be a great further use for the Skill Focus feats. |

To make creatures who rely on their natural weapons playable at sigil the staff decided to give them cold iron and silvered weapons. This is just a mechanical change and not meaned to be roleplayed I think. You cant change your current "alchemistic silver claws" for "cold iron claws" and such. In 3.5 some creatures like devils automatically align their weapons to lawful evil and thus can pierce "chaotic" and "good". It may have developed from that point. |

Yeah, generally D&D has problems with stuff making sense when you look at the big picture. In second edition especially there was a large number of devils and demons that by lore fight eachother, but when you looked at their abilities and immunities there was a large number of them that simply couldn't harm eachother. It was improved later with fiends automatically piercing opposing alignment DR (something we've implemented as well on fiends, otherwise the abyss fiends would hardly been able to hurt eachother). But for players, it's more a matter of balance than logic obviously as mentioned. |

Its worthy of note too when you look at crafting: wearing celestial feathers gives DR 5 unless its Evil and vice-versa for demon scales. Well..... how often does a paladin fight against Good? That means he or she should be wearing the demon scale armor (um.... what?) because Evil can't pierce it, Good can, and you're never going to fight Good. {I reject the travesty that is Mercuria. I usually pretend that portal doesn't exist unless I really, really can't for the sake of the RP of others.} So... wearing the feathers would be cool and make a lot more sense ("Hey buddy, can I borrow some of your shed feathers over time?" "Oh sure, my paladin friend. Enjoy.") but its not practical at all- worthless, in fact, except for RP. You have to try to look like a demon to be more effective at fighting them. Is everyone okay with that? |

Don't look at it as "Celestials grew feathers to protect from other celestials" as much as "Fiends develop weapons capable of piercing the DR of their enemies". Going the opposite route for DR means that when your paladin casts Bless Weapon, suddenly his sword can pierce celestial DR but not fiend DR? That's a lot worst then the feather thing. |

I dunno. I think it's more because the act of skinning and making armor out of something is in direct opposition to that something. A demon had to die, permanently, on the Abyss, to make that armor. Think of it that way. |

You dont have to wear a demonscale armor to fight demons. There are alot of other item options. A paladin in demonscale armor would surely fit Sigil :D. EDIT: Oh Oh! Can we have Celestial Plume Robes?  Need!

So the questions still stand, if one can enchant their own fangs then can a DM make appropriate action in game through viable RP and costs to enchant a players fang with help of an enchanter? And The Natural Armor (NA) of a creature perhaps being reduced but becoming stackable with magical NA. *Edit: While the addition of metals added to fangs help, certain creatures have dr immunity / +1 (or higher) which means that while they are theoretically more viable, they are still unable to even harm such things as shadow demons or whatever those guys are in the grey waste keep. Me and my Golem friend had tried to go there and we both where mercilessly killed due to this fact. |
