We have noticed that the Brachina's spellcasting gets messed up when choosing another PRC after choosing the Brachina PRC. Tested with ASOC and PM and both time it was not possible to add the feats that allow for a smooth sorcerer progression to the toon. Adding more sorcerer levels works great, though. |

I'm guessing the game asked you to pick a spellcasting class to advance with ASoC/PM when you took the first level and there was no Sorcerer option? If so, the fault is with the original PrCs, not Cere's Brachina, and I believe the catamites manning the scripting apparatus are well aware of it. |

No it's not... when I was testing this issue I actually took demonologist levels first and they worked just fine. It's something in the settings in classes.2da and part of what I've got to research now that I'm back. |

Okay, here's what it comes down to... it's pretty much a known bug. The issue has to do with qualifying for things before you should be able to. Demonologist, for example, has among its prerequisites the ability to cast 3rd-level arcane spells. So as soon as you meet that prereq, you can choose the class. HOWEVER... In feats.2da, the actual "Demonologist Spellcasting: Sorcerer" feat has its own prerequisite, which is 6 levels of sorcerer. This is done on all of these to prevent a character from qualifying for a PrC with one class, then applying it to another; otherwise you could get 3rd-level arcane casting as a bard but only be a 1st-level wizard and make wizard your demonologist class. This also prevents someone who is not a sorcerer from taking it. So in this case, we're running into the issue that you only need one level of sorcerer to qualify for Brachina, while most prestige classes require you to have the ability to cast 3rd or 4th level spells, so once you qualify for one in this aspect you qualify for the others. Thus, if you want your Brachina to be a Pale Master, Demonologist, or any other arcane PrC with a caster level requirement, you're going to need to take additional levels of Sorcerer aside from your Brachina levels. This issue is also going to appear with other racial prestige classes that don't have caster level requirements such as Ogre Mage. |

I went 1 Sorc -> 10 Brachina -> 5 Sorc -> ASoC. Essentially, I manually checked to see if ASoC would work. It didn't until I had 6 Sorc, so I thought it was the old bug. Thanks for the confirmation. I was a bit confused because I thought I read that something else was planned for the newer PrCs buuut I'm gonna hazard a guess that holidays understandably took precedence.

Uhmm, are we keeping it? I mean 3rd level arcane casting should do it as taking demonologist as bard is rather stupid. |

Yes we're keeping it, since demonologist can also be taken from wizard and sorcerer. The thing is, this also applies to Red Wizard, Arcane Scholar, Arcane Trickster, etc.... not just our custom classes. |
