I'm assuming they don't right? I mean a ranger 6 and druid 9, won't get you a lvl 12 animal companion right? I never know on here because sometimes things have been altered and they're not on here. |

I think they even stack on vanilla nwn2.

I'm pretty sure Animal Companion does add multiple sources to give you a total. I want to say that was a feature in 3.5, and I'm pretty certain that that carried over to NWN/2. I think any source of Animal Companion should improve your existing one. However, if one of them starts at a delayed level (4, 7, etc) your companion will be slightly behind your level. |

Yeah that's what I figured lol, but people were so sure. Should have tested it before I based my last build on it . . . blah. |

The funny thing is that in this page, it says that they stack. http://nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Animal_companion "Note: Animal companion levels stack from different classes. For example a Druid 15/ Cleric 15 (with animal domain) will have a full level companion. Tested and confirmed in final NWN2 version. " |

Iirc, it's something to do with taking the identical animal for both classes, for it to stack correctly. I think this is why the dino is seen to work correctly, as it overwrites all class animals to be the same dino. Edit: wiki suggests that the same name is necessary too (maybe -I don't remember this). It might be worth testing. |

I mean I can definitely test this. I did go for improved familiar though and he wasn't getting the bonus. |

It does most certainly stack for companion level purposes in vanilla NWN2 and Sigil. A Cleric 5 (Animal Domain)/Druid 5 for example has the animal companion of a Druid 10. Just remember ranger has a delayed animal companion progression. |
