Kinda interested in playing a Firre Bard, but I've never built a Bard before, and I feel like they're kinda tricky to get right. Ideally I'm looking for a build that is a decently good melee combatant as well as support with bardic muzac. Thoughts? |

A few things you will want to work towards then. 1. Requiem, obviously. You'll want to make sure to get both the song and hymn, so make sure to reserve some late levels in your build for bard (or Firre) class levels. Remember that Hymn has a prereq of 30 perform as well, so it's going to be on a Firre's final level. 2. Legionnaire's march is another great feature when group-grinding. 3. You can get by without actually having high Charisma. You're not going to concern yourself with spell DCs and a Cha of 11 will give you all the spells you need if you wear a +5 cloak. So you're probably going to want to focus your ability points in either strength or dexterity, depending on the direction you want to take the bard. 4. Dex-based is a slightly easier build to design, but is going to have a hard time at higher levels unless you're willing to stay off the frontlines and be more of a support character. 5. Str-based will be more feat-poor, as you'll want to invest in Battle Caster so as to wear medium armor, and probably a few melee feats, as well as ensuring your spare epic feats are going to your combat abilities or strength. 6. Curse song is a must. Great way to depower dangerous enemies. 7. Don't look at extend spell as a must-have. Most of your castings will be defensive, and you have fewer spell levels to play with. Map out the spells you'll take ahead of time, and use those to decide if the ability to extend is worth the feat. 8. Because of the 7-level Firre class requirement, you'll have to be selective in any additional multiclassing. Assuming courage and defense will be your most-used inspirations, you're looking at 26 combined levels of bard and Firre, which means you'd have one spare level to play with. And distaste for one-level dips aside, I'd suggest the obvious fighter, cleric, or shadowdancer here, depending on whether you want a bonus epic feat, two free cleric feats and PfE, or HiPS. |

You could also take Divine Champion for extra feats ever two levels, i took it Epic Level and my Firre Rismal can Handle Carceri well in a party, she has those Party Based Buffs too, she's more CHA focused and has Enough Strength to kick ass. |
