Let's not forget that the Bazaar is meant to represent this zone: The Great Bazaar. From p. 96 of

Quote:

Free League considers all visitors to the Great Bazaar - the Indep headquarters - as potential customers, which  means everyone gets treated more or less the same. So long as bashers don’t tease the two-headed pigs in the livestock pavilion or blow their noses in the silk cart, they’re free to shop as long as they like. A basher in need  of jink might check the Debtor’s Pole. Merchants from  all over Sigil use the pole to post the names of sods who haven’t paid their bills. Some names have rewards attached. A basher who returns  a wanted sod to the creditor named on the pole pockets the reward.
Unlike most other faction headquarters, the Great Bazaar isn’t contained in a single building. Rather, it’s spread out over a magnificent open-air plaza, a huge square of tents, shops, and stalls. The Bazaar is a cacophony of sounds - shouts, clanks, shrieks, barks, whistles - and a sea of smells - hot bread,  peach  perfume, fresh paint.  Though generally  confined to the plaza, the Bazaar has no formal borders; a merchant who can’t find room to set up shop on the plaza is squeezed onto a side street. On any given day, then, the Great Bazaar might not only be Sigil’s busiest faction headquarters, but also the largest.

Point is, half the folks act like this is some quiet zone where we can all sit and chat. No, no, it's actually loud and crazy with people hawking wares and yelling and debating. The Bazaar isn't your little slice of "peace and quiet", and Dion's is a place where everyone can come and say whatever. Your character doesn't have to like it, but acting like the Bazaar is your personal slice of "small talk and rest" is illogical for your character.

How the Bazaar really sounds, to all characters:
Medieval Market
Open Air Market
The Cambion Morthos: Athar Warlock
Vaggol'cyth Krahl: Tiefling Cipher

The only time the Bazaar should ever be quiet is when someone has spotted the Lady and the entire market has run and hidden.

Agreed. It's supposed to be busy and very active around the clock. I understand most people don't RP it as they can't see it that way but it'd be impossible to drop enough NPC's into the area to mimic this. Hence... we need to use our imaginations and RP appropriately.

Daniela Nokomis- "The Enclave" - Vampiress, The woman in White, Soul Stealer, Merchant
Garen Seph - Fraternity of Order B3

I personally would advocate using a "busy market" sound effect as the "music" there, but my understanding is that we can't due to licensing. :(

actually, in the toolset I think there is a sound bit there that can resemble the bazaar as busy as it is. aslo I think you can add more then one sound to the area? I think

EDIT : I'll try to find it

EDIT #2 :" City Day Crowded" that's the sound bit

Partial agreement; Dion's and the Bazaar in general is a place that gets a lot of traffic, and it's good to keep that in mind. I can't agree that you should be 'able to say whatever' at Dion's in principle, though; the implication is that you're close at hand to characters who can clearly hear what you're saying and take offense as they will.

well, not to be rude... but if others take offense is it IC or OOC form?

I can't speak for anyone else, but it's important that we trust each other to be acting in character as much as we can.

I agree

Look, if your hinting about my PC Rebecca, its all IC well on Rebecca's end until others make it OOC.

Here's the breakdown about Rebecca so others can't get over it lol kinda annoying when others think her RP is a joke so they are taking offense OOC when they should not if thats what your hinting at...

Ever seen the movie the Dark Knight, and Remember the joker? Rebecca isn't a anarchist however!
like the joker Rebecca doesn't know what she wants, she can contradict herself without knowing. overall all she wants is Chaos for a lot of others (not all) and herself.

that whole writing on the wall thing, let me quote one line specifically

Quote:

Their actions against me would only encourage me to be the destroyer they would fear more than entropy itself if this continues. . .

she never said how she'll destroy.. however she has said time and time again..

Quote:

chaos = destruction = entropy

and Rebecca is a Accelarationist in the Doomguard..

So, Rebecca is all IC, I may get annoyed when some one pops off referring with something I said over a forum or something

such as referring to a "Performance" I didn't get bent out of shape OOC just was a bit annoyed :P

So now you know.. IC that "Performance" is what its supposed to be IC :P

now can we move on?

I wasn't referring to Rebecca at all. I wouldn't try to conceal that if I were. I'm addressing the conceit of the thread, in that I feel the lore about the Great Bazaar doesn't mean a PC has to act like such-and-such in all situations.

Fair enough :)

Isn't it set to a busy ambient sound set already?

Of course, that doesn't solve the issue of people just not playing with the sound on.
Do not hesitate to send me a PM if you:
- Have questions about building, or joining the Dev Team
- Want to join or start an event for the Mercykillers, Fated, or Signers
- You have been waiting more than 2 days for me to post in an IC forum thread

I've never seen anyone RP it as not-a-busy-place-where-a-rag-tag-group-of-interplanar-misfits-gather! :P
