I spend most of my time playing alone because Im not on at normal hours. For Rakshasa I cant decide between pale master and asoc. Is the final summon for pale master powerful enough to make it worth it?

IMO Pale Master is a bit better for Soloing, Due to the Summon (you can have 2 summons: one from PM, and Necromantic Might to buff the normal summons) but you do sacrifice some potency to your spells.

It largely depends on your build focus, and on your spellcasting class.

If you play a DC wizard, they are almost equally bad (ASoC does nothing for you but suck levels and feats, while PM even though less feat-intensive costs you CL).

If you play a Sorcerer, there is nothing more powerful than ASoC, thus if you do not focus on DCs, I would go as far as recommending 10ASoC/10PM (something like Sorc7/BG3/ASoC10/PM10 with CHA to saves, Divine Shield and a ton of attack spells. The immunities and buffs from scrolls also make you extremely hard to kill)

If you play a Wizard, I would never recommend ASoC. Aside from the obvious (and easily counterable by anybody half decent) Quickened Bigby 6, it offers you nothing special. 10 PM is a much better investment, and opens up Hide/Ms on top of that, so that you can add a level of Shadowdancer for HiPS (or two if you want Evasion too) and make you extremely survivable, and next to unkillable if you are an experienced mage player.

I consider the two summons a perk more than a big advantage, as you end up needing to buff them both AND yourself, leaving you less space for control spells needed to ensure the dominance of your summon. In addition, you can have two summons anyway with Dominate Monster and a standard one (and reliably, if you are either a Sorcerer or a DC wizard).

Both classes are "worth it", and there are no right or wrong decisions unless we put them into the contest of a specific build.
