Well..... the next spring when I went to get my stuff out, the darn mice used the moth ball box to build their nest & left me a pile of stinky moth balls to clean up.

So much for that theory...

I haven't gotten to get the light kit in the jeep yet. After I get the interior going I'll know where I will mount the module & start setting up the lights...

I haven't had much time to do more work on the YJ, the weather has been too nice and the boss had me outside building retaining walls around our pool. Well rain has come and I have gotten some work done.

Working on the floor boards and rear wheel wells.
This is the first time I have really worked with Styrene. I think it'll come out okay, the local hobby shop gave me some pointers.
Posted Image

I used some cardboard to get an idea of what I was going to do.
Posted Image

Here are the Styrene parts cut and taped together. Not too bad, I'll probably remake them down the road but this is a good start.
Posted Image

Here is the passenger side rear with the body on.
Posted Image
I think I'll have to make the backing plate a bit taller so the wheel wells won't be seen. That is the great thing about styrene that costs $ .90 per sheet.

Here is a view from the inside. I am planning on purchasing some cell phone Recaro's from RPP hobbies this week to use a the seats. I have to find an action figure to be the driver & a passenger. Anyone have any ideas as to what figures are 1/10 scale?

Next will be to work on the front inner wheel wells and then move onto the interior.

Wrestling figures are pretty much dead on 1/10 scale. There are others too, but the wrestling figures are known to be a good fit - and, if you look hard enough, there are some scale hotties to be had. :nice:

It's been a while since I have updated this. The weather has gone from nice and sunny to rainy and soon will be snowing. I got some time to work on the fenders. Filled in the front fender blinkers.

Filled in the body work on the rear

Made the Rock Rail Fenders (Front Drivers Side)

Also mounted the roof rack, put the lights in the light bar, and mounted the light bar on the roof instead of the top of the roof rack. Not sure if that was a good idea or not?????? Actually I think I made a mistake, should have put on the rack.....
Posted Image

Since I cut off the fender flairs under the door I needed to make some body armor to fill in the open area. Once I drill all my holes & dry fit everything I will prime the body. Once primer is sprayed It'll feel more like i am getting somewhere.... I picked up an antena from RPP, had to cut it down it was way too long.

Before primer I cut the holes for the flush mounted rear break lights, backup lights, and running lights. I used Styrene tuping so i could put the LED lights in.
Posted Image

Top View, the light bar is wired up and shrinkwraped. I will work on the cooler that holds the switches next. I still need to mount the lights under the winsheild. Not sure if I will put the LED's from the light unit in them or standard white LED's. I see tha Axial came out with a light control unit. Seems as though every time i pick up a new piece, someone else comes out with a better (cheaper) product. The Axial LED system has lights for a light bar. I have to wire mine up on my own and hope not to kill the LED's.

Some other shots. I still need to work on the shocks. I purchased a set of the 90mm dual rate springs from RC4WD. Seems that I need the 80mm shocks. They are not in the budget right now.
