Looking great! Would you recommend the chassi? Do you need many modifications to it to fit your needs? |

I'd recomend this chassis, it seems to have less issues compared to some other chassis out on the market. It fits the Tamiya Jeep body perfect except you'll have to do some trimming to the front bumper. I'd would recomend this chassis to anyone as long as you are willing to spend time with a custom build. Oh ya, it'll also cost you. |

Yeah it's more expensive than others, but if it fits better with wheelbase and other issues, I woulden't mind. Have you compared this alu chassi with the delrine one, that someone in here makes? |

Thats me. :chug: I will be completely honest, you will get a slightly better product by purchasing the RPP chassis. Simply because all of those chassis are cut with CNC machines. Mine are hand cut and drilled. But they do fit the body, the chassis was modeled in CAD by me to fit the Tamiya YJ body. I'm not saying mine is junk, there are several guys here on the board that have gotten one and are very happy with it. Plus its hard to find a body specific chassis for under $100 that includes everything but the springs. :nice: Hope this helped. |

I think I am ready for paint. First step will be to strip the body of all the lights, windows, rack, etc & get some primer on it. Take a look at the photos. The following photo's will hopefully be the last photo's taken in white. Next shots will hopefully be gray primer and then to the final colors...... The holes under the window are for the side rear view mirrors. I didn't mount them in the preliminary mock up since the holes were there from the factory & I knew they were in the correct place. I'll take a picture or two to show what she looks like with the mirrors in.... |

Love to see photo's of the build and the finished product.... Since I am gettin' ready for paint in the next few days, I hope you're not goin' to copy my YJ... Just kiddin, anything you like that I have done is fair game for anyone. Good Luck! If you haven't used the Yota axles on another build, I'll tell you those axles are great! I have them on my Trailfinder and I haven't had any problems with them. I was going to use them on this build but decided on different axles. FYI, stay away form the RC4WD revolver shackles. I have gone through 2 of them already..... :jeepy: |
