I can't disagree one bit with any of the above. The only things missing are scale dead leaves.

Beautiful...

Thank you guys!

I got some work done today after the run, i noticed it is way to "sloppy"/soft in the rear suspension, i have new shocks coming in that i can have oil in and fine tune them more to what works.

But i also fabbed up a sway bar for the rear to see how that would work, i only miss one rod end to see how it works and how it will affect the flex, i got bad body roll the way it is now so i need to play around with some ideas and see what works best.

Also want to say thanks to monkeyracer for making me a better license plate logo, cheers man!

Sway bar. (dont mind the mounts, i will shave them if it works like i want)

It is no art to bought a jeep, its a art to live with it!

This thread is full of awesome. :yiaks:

I had the same thought about going on the cover of Petersens or JP, those axles are insane and make it look spot on.

Thanks guys!

Now 3 sway bars later...puh...i broke 2 due to i heated the hardening on the rod off 2 times but the last one should hold.

But i dont know if im gonna run it with a sway bar, its very stiff in the articulation and limits flex alot but body roll/torqe twist is all gone.

I wish i could use a sway bar but i need to figure a way to get more flex then i have now.
I think its the weight of the truck that dont make it flex more, the rod is to stiff and truck to light.

Anyone got an idea of what i can do to make it flex better??

I maybe have to ditch it and solve the bodyroll/torqe twist problem with the new shocks, some thicker oil maybe can help a little.

I will give it a test run tomorrow with sway bar to see how it works, it looks cool anyway!

Here is some pics...

The swaybars I had on my old racecars were a whole lot thinner than that. I know you're a good bit heavier, but it may be better to go with a fairly thin wire. Maybe you could grind down the top and/or bottom side to reduce the thickness of the one you have there?

Your shocks are attached very close to the pumpkin on the axle, so they have almost no leverage. I'd think you'd have to go to a heavy oil and/or spring to make up for that.

Could you do Z bends in the links from the levers to the axle and move the ends out farther on the axle? Maybe lots of folks attach their shocks that close in, I'm fairly new around here, but I know that would be trouble on a 1:1. You could pull the swaybar mounts off and try it.

Thx for the info!

You may be right about that the shocks are to far in on the axle, i have to try thicker oil when i get the new shocks to see how that works.

About the sway bar i think as you said, i have to go with a thinner rod, these are 2mm, i think i could go down to 1mm or 1.5mm.

Any chance you have enough threaded rod to try to work it so the shock lever links attach to the axle where your swaybar currently does?

I'd say that considering the way you have the leverage on the rear shocks, you need way more spring in the rear. You have what could even be a 5:1 rear shock leverage, and that is good for articulation, but no good for keeping it stable. I think if you went for a heavier shock oil (to calm springs) and a stiff heavy spring in the rear, you might have it perfect with no sway bar at all.
I've had to use heavier springs also with large shock leverage. I like my shocks far inside, and it's the same characteristics you have with the rocker arms on the rear.
It's obvious you have a large brain already, so I am sure you will come up with a mind-numbing solution in any case!

I dont wanna move those, i like to keep it fairly scale, i think i have it figured now anyway, i will try the new shocks with thicker oil and maybe stiffer springs first, if that works well then ill ditch the sway bar or maybe keep it for looks. Thanks!
