In over my head...

I think I'm at the point where I can start a build thread for my NB TJ Rubicon. My axles and wheels/tires came in everything else I'm waiting for to complete the rolling chassis should be in this week. I bought the body and the previous owner put a nice coat of orange on it to help me along:

I bought a TSS PPC chassis but it wasn't going to work without cutting the bed on my NB body and I don't have the skill to do that and clean things up where they look presentable. I sat down and mocked up a frame rail this morning. I'm going to cut a couple of these out of some 1/8" aluminum. I'll be using a scroll saw and files because I don't have access to a bandsaw or anything else which would make life easier unfortunately. This is what I've come up with. I'd love to hear from the more experienced guys if you see any potential issues with it. I'd like to make sure it will work before I make them since it will be so labor intensive.

The mock up seems to mate up well with the body as it is but I don't know if I will run in to issues when I go to mount up the R2 tranny, motor or Killer transfer case. I plan to make a cross member for the transfer case which will drop down below the frame slightly just like my 1:1.

Opinions or thoughts appreciated. This is my first build so it's all new to me.

Body look very nice. looks like a great paint job.

If you want a scale TJ chassis, have a look at the Toxic chassis,,fit's perfect. :nice:

I am going to do a New Bright TJ as my next build. I have most of the stuff I need, R2 tranny, Killer T case, t60 axles. But I have the same concerns as to how it will all fit. I think a front mounted tranny and center T case is the way to go and I am looking at a Toxic chassis for this build. looks like a good start! Good luck :jeepy: :nice:
DID YOU SEE THAT!!!!

I've made some progress with the chassis. I am also waiting for a set of the plastic T-rex RC4WD axles which I might use rather than the TLT axles. Here is what I've got so far roughly mocked up:
