ok guys I am new here and joined because of a build I am about to start. its a new bright tj body i plan on using tlt axles and 1.9 mudslingers. want to use a planetary transmission if i can get one and an integy 55t motor. also looking for a sweet deal on a tcase. i will be cutting my own chassis. planning a winch and a stinger up front not sure about the rear and probably body armor. not sure if i will cut my fender flares off or not yet. i joined this site because the best jeep builds i have seen have an rcjeeps sticker on em so i figured this would be a great place to get help. i have nearly everything except- speed control, tranny, and tcase. i need help on the roll bar (stock is a bit ugly) and the radiator behind the grill looks like a toy, looking for suggestions on something more realistic. links to cool builds that are similar to the issues i will be trying to tackle would be cool and i will be using the search function as well. i know you guys know what they look like but i will get photos up anyway. |

Welcome in, man. Pull up a chair and stay a while. You know we'd love to see pix. I'm especially interested in the chassis configuration you've come up with. :nice: Some of the guys on this site have built some sure-enough, good lookin' Jeeps. Wizards in the finest sense... Poke around a bit. I'm sure you'll find what you seek. Rollbars and cages are as individual as the folks that build them. No two are the same, but some are similar. Decide first what you want your roll cage to do (i.e. protect the "occupants"; protect occupants and paint job; paint job and rockers; cosmetic only...you get the idea) and go from there. Radiators are a bit of a challenge in that they need to look "real," but act to hide electrical components and such. Some folks just forgo them altogether. Others don't. Some will retrofit fit the stock radiator, but paint it to make it look less "toyish." Use your imagination. The beauty of this hobby is there's no "right" or "wrong." :chug: |
