They hated every part of me
Expect me to forget it
They tried so hard to bury me
But I survived it every time

Convicted of every crime
Silently doing time
But when I get outta here
I wanna make it clear

Vengeance is mine
Vengeance is mine, mine, mine
To forgive is divine
But vengeance is mine, mine, mine

--From "Vengeance is Mine" by Alice Cooper

The scene slowly fades in from black, as "Captain Howdy" begins to play once again. We find ourselves outside of what appears to be a Democrat headquarters, though the city and state are blurred out. The building looks to be closed, as there are no lights on inside, and no-one is moving within the building. In a way, it's a little sad, as this should be a vibrant place, even after the happenings of the previous night. The camera pulls back a bit, then turns to the side, and we see a familiar figure, sitting on the wall outside the place. His lime green tuxedo stands out against the white building, and his steel walking stick rests against the wall at his side. As the music fades, Captain Howdy slowly shakes his head, as he begins to speak.

CAPTAIN HOWDY: It's a fault of humanity, that we tend to look into the future, sometimes a bit too far. We get something that we're looking forward to, and our sites get set. Sometimes, we get to that goal without any issues. Sometimes, we stumble along the way. The building behind me? Those people thought they had a victory sewn up last night. They thought there was no earthly way that they would be on the outside looking in this morning. Oops. Now, don't get me wrong. While I have no love for either of our bad choices last night, I know how hard these people worked. They did everything they could to get to last night, and to the bright future they saw on the other side. It just didn't work out, and many of them never even gave that thought a moment's time in their minds.

As a young man, I often looked forward to Christmastime. My family would gather, whether in our city or someone else's, and I'd get to see relatives that I hadn't seen for a year. There was always plenty of food, always a pile of presents, and a lot of fun to be had. I looked forward to it for months. Then, one year, my father lost his job, and the small alcohol problem he had bloomed into a full-blown issue. It was just after Thanksgiving that year. Our family never made it to the Christmas reunion. Much of it was spent instead going to visit my brother in the ICU, after my father got a little too drunk, and a little too angry one night. My father went to jail, and the trial later that year was the last we saw of him. My brother, well, we saw the last of him a bit before that. I learned that year, that you have to be very careful about looking ahead. You have to be aware of what is happening in the here and now, because things can change so very, very quickly.

A lot of people might think that, because I have an opportunity very soon to be the first ever Redemption Champion, that my eyes are fixed on that goal. They might believe that I am not paying attention to other things around me. I have noticed, for example that there is a new Interim Commissioner named for the Redemption division. I've seen that he isn't exactly experienced in the business, but to be honest, that doesn't much matter. I'm not oblivious to his presence, but I'm not overly concerned about him. He'll do his job, and hopefully, learn from his predecessor. If not...

I'm also not overlooking the man I face this week, though he's probably hoping I will do just that. CGThree...sounds like a new drug or something...you can rest easy knowing that I am well and truly ready to face you this week. After all, I don't take any opponent lightly. I know that, if you're here, you must have something to offer. You must be a worthy opponent. I saw a little of you over in the World Championship Division, and you're not a slouch. Are you on my level? That remains to be seen.

I will tell you this, however. If you came to this division, thinking you'd find easy prey, I hate to burst your bubble. You see, for whatever reason, they put you into the ring against me. Someone out there must not like you very much. They must want to see you taught a lesson, humbled, possibly even broken. It doesn't take much for me to oblige such a thing. All you have to do, is be in my vision when the bell rings. I've got nothing against you personally. No, this will simply be fun, and a chance to work out whatever anger I have after my loss last week. Oh yes, I should tell you. I don't take losing well, whether in a tag match or in a singles contest. It tends to make me very, very cross. Normally, my next opponent pays dearly for the happenings the previous match. I see no reason to change that now. No, I'm not looking past you, CGThree, I'm looking very squarely, directly, at you.

If you want to run away now, I'll let you.

I have a match for the Redemption Title coming up. I lost a match not long ago. That means, I need to show the world that I do actually belong in that match. I need to remind everyone just what it is that makes me the Most Dangerous Man in Redemption. And, lucky you, you get to be my demonstration partner. Is there a limb that you are the most fond of, by chance? If you ask nicely, I might just leave that one intact. Can't make any promises though. Things do happen. Bad things, although from what I understand, you're not exactly good people. I doubt anyone will feel badly for you. I know I won't.

Howdy stands up, collecting his walking stick, and brushes off his pants. He looks up into the camera, and smiles, the shark's grin coming over his face again.

CGThree, you've come to a different division, one I am about to be very much in charge of. You're coming onto my turf, and expecting that I will do nothing about it, that I will just let you do as you please. You have a very rude awakening coming to you. That is, of course, after you come to from the beating I will give you. It will be after you find out exactly what it means when I decide that, for you...

PLAYTIME'S OVER!!!!

See you soon.

HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!

AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAHAHAA!!!!

The Captain continues to laugh manically, as his music begins again. He twirls his walking stick a few times, then waves to the camera, before turning, and walking away. The camera watches, until he turns the corner, and vanishes from sight, as the scene slowly fades to black.
