Outside his childhood home in Midlothian, Texas...

...we find Johnny Gillmen strolling about in a second of the expansive front yard, wearing a dark blue heavy jacket and blue jeans on a chilly Tuesday evening. As a stiff breeze from the north kicked into high gear, the Islander alum calmly walked towards a spot next to a large oak tree and sat down on the grass; he then proceeded to pick up a small, wood-framed photograph before looking at its contents. He sighed to himself as his thoughts began to drift on the subject of said black-and-white picture of a woman in a Wal-Mart uniform, sporting curly hair and a wide grin.

It soon became clear as to why this place meant so much to him.

This was a memorial marker constructed in tribute to his mother Linda, who passed away due to fourth-stage breast cancer in May 2014--a little over two years ago.

Now that it was almost time to get ready to celebrate Christmas, Johnny calmly nodded his head as he silently placed the photo in front of a bed of bluebonnets. Every year around this point in time, prior to 2014, JJ had always enjoyed visiting his mother, often giving her the razz about the Dallas Cowboys winning--after all, Linda HATED the Cowboys--and vice versa, getting razzed every time they'd lose a big game. It had pained him, knowing that his mother wasn't on the earth anymore; yet at the same time, JJ felt comforted in knowing that she was in a much better place, that her spirit would always be there to guide him.

And that made him smile--wider than ever.

Gazing his eyes toward the setting sun, the darkening skies above, the former TAMUCC grad calmly stood up, preparing himself to head back into the little white house that he grew up in with his father and stepmother, Jack and Joni Gillmen. But before heading inside, Gillmen reached into his green travel duffel bag, pulling out the old black-leathered Redemption Wrestling tag-team championship belt which had the initials "GYD" spraypainted on the front. As a slight gust of wind blew in his face, JJ knelt down and placed the old championship belt on the flowerbed next to his mother's photo and took two steps backward, grinning from ear to ear as he did so.

After all...in JJ's heart, his mother was a longtime wrestling fan who would have been might proud to see him succeed when nobody else would have given him a chance.

And indeed, Johnny Gillmen had come a long, long way.

Howdy...

...yeah, pun intended there--howdy Howdy.

I'm gonna tell ya a l'il story that I've always enjoyed tellin' since I was little. I had a favorite show growin' up back in the day, a syndicated TV program called "Bozo the Clown." It was a fun l'il slice of pop culture unto itself, featurin' lots of laughs and gags galore. Yet as importantly, it was a part of how I once viewed the world--as an idyllic safe haven featurin' people who loved what they did for a livin', always had a smile on their face, and generally cared for other human bein's. It was, for all intensive purposes, a happy place and an even happier time--one that I haven't forgotten...

...but as I got older, the world around me changed.

Now I've found myself livin' in a society were political correctness reigns supreme, where people are usin' TRUCKS and other everyday vehicles to murder innocents, and the top show of the times is somethin' called "Keeping up with the Kardashians" or whatever reality-based garbage they spew on TV. And yet even as importantly, I don't have a sense of "completeness" no more--for my family, the guidin' rock behind everything I've done since joinin' Redemption, isn't whole no more. Suffice it to say...the world is now a livin' hell, one that will most ccertain come crashin' on itself despite the recent elections and all that mess.

But dude...if there was ONE THING that remains constant when it comes to dealin' with me, it's called "heart and desire."

I know, I know...that's a wee bit cliche now, ain't it? But believe me, you're gonna know about those things REAL soon. 'Cause the fact of the matter is real simple--while I WILL go on the record and praise ya because you're all big and strong, 'cuz you've been around 16 or so years, you are the direct manifestation of everything that is wrong in the globe today. It's saddenin' to me when I have to turn on the news and hear about a cop bein' shot and a family bein' tortured for the rest of their lives 'cuz some nutjob wanted to protest police brutality or whatever. In your case...ya torture people 'cuz ya wanna be a dude who's starvin' or attention, who will go outta your way to tear people apart and LAUGH as they suffer. Well guess what? That's what COWARDS do...

...and I'm BETTER than that.

The world might've changed for the worse, but that hasn't stopped me from doin' what I love the most and bein' successful at it. Ya see, I've had to fight an uphill battle MY ENTIRE LIFE just to get to the point I'm at now--longest-reigning co-holder of the tag-team titles. But more importantly, I get my biggest thrill NOT from terrorizin' others just 'cuz I'm all big and bad, but rather...by representin' all the Joe Plinkos and Nutty Nobodies that dream of havin' the chance to someday use their own heart and desire to make their way to the top of the mountain and, one day, become somethin' special...

...by earnin' the right to call themselves "champion."

I'm Johnny Gillmen...and I #Dare2Dream.

See ya Thursday dude.
