If any of you guys read a good book or have done so, please post the name and who the author is under this thread for now?

Even if we all have different taste in reading material, there will be some similarities, and a good book is always something worth sharing.

OK how about a great book about the elusive King Arthur...who wasn't really a king and wasn't really the son of Uther Pendragon etc etc etc ad nauseum....o and BTW the title of the book refers to pendragon the title given to warlords NOT to anyone with that surname.

Pendragon the Definitive Account of the Origins of Arthur

Steve Blake and Scott Lloyd

A word of warning...if any of you abslotuely refuse to give up on those luscious legends created by Geoffrey of Monmouth and/or Malory...DO NOT read this...it kinda destroys the whole Camelot (which didn't exist btw) thing.

I would say any Fantasy Novel by David Eddings, or even Raymond E Feist.

Thanks for giving new authors to explore guys! Much appreciated, and on my list of "what to read next".

@Tilt - Signor, *bows gracefully*, even while still shaking a bit from "being scared in a weird and different way from reading" - THANK YOU for instilling respect for an author that I only knew from very little exposure through my mother who is also a big fan, and actually forgot about until recently, when we had a very interesting discussion about him and other authors that made "supernatural literature" WOW without modern special effects...

I got hold of a copied version of "The White People" by Arthur Machen in a file in a box in my parents' garage this morning, and started reading it soon after... Only realised justnow that I have actually read it before, but not with the same "understanding" of the way and even style it was written in I have now, after looking for hidden meanings in every paragraph at first, instead of just becoming part of the story and reading it again later if necessary in order to understand better.

My mom said she has "Hill of Dreams" somewhere as well, and it's one of her favourites. Guess who's "garage hunting" again tomorrow morning...

Thanks for re-newed respect for English literature when it comes to stories. Sorry, but I get excited like a child when it comes to good books, and I automatically like & respect people who appreciate it even half as much as I do more than others - bit unfair, I know... *lol*

I recently got a "bundle of poetry by Henry Wadsworth (Longfellow) that was published in 1920, from someone that doesn't know me that well, yet has a real understanding of my love for literature and poetry, and it's currently my most treasured possession. *smiles*

LOL
Yeah, I heard about that one too, and I've been meaning to read it ever since the author said that she's gonna publish it. But ya see, my pockets are kinda empty at the time(actually they're always empty - the hard life of a mean teen girly machine).

Hmmm...maybe I'll ask Joe to bring me a copy of it, and ummmm, I don't think I have to worry about paying him for the service *grin*

As for great books, I always loved Harry Potter. I would also recommend "Adam and Eve" by Liviu Rebreanu, but since it's in romanian, I doubt you can find it some place else rather than here, sorry.

Actually went looking for "Garden of Ghouls" a while ago when you mentioned it first on one of the threads, specially after reading the "write up", but could obviously not find it in any of our stores. Will you please give the link for the website where we can order online again, as I am obviously "stoopid" or over-tired today, and can't find anything...

Thanks!
