Boiled beef and parrots can be most tastyful, but the beaks are a bit crunchy unless you boil 'em for a long time!

This weekend, it will be a really unusual thing here. Its the feast of Saint Martin, and the traditional starter in this part of the world is Goose Blood soup....mmmmm!

Recipe anyone?

Maybe I should have had some for Halloween?

Just look at the ingredients! Dont they just make your mouth water?

1 1/2 cups of goose blood
1/4 cup of vinegar
2 teaspoons of flour
4 pints of stock
1 teaspoon each of thyme, black pepper, cloves, allspice, ginger, and cinnamon
1/4 cup of black currant jelly
2 tablespoons of light brown sugar
3-4 teaspoons of port wine or sherry
2 teaspoons of cognac
