I just received my new toy via UPS -- a replica Confederate cavalry soldier saber. It is 35 inches of carbon steel and very shiny. The point is sharp but the blade isn't. I think they do that so people like me don't accidently slash or hack siblings, friends, or loved ones. Now all I need is a horse. I Also this week, in my pocket change I found a new 2006 penny (first one I have seen this year) and a new 2006 nickel -- the one where you see a more front face view of Jefferson. I am not sure why the American Government has been creating so many new coin designs lately. Too many new quarters and nickels for my taste. It seems to me that all these coins are being hoarded as collectibles and that keeps the cash out of circulation which in effect causes inflation. Maybe some of you econ gurus will correct me if I am wrong but it seems like a bad financial move for a nation with a very large deficit. And why haven't they stamped a few new dimes lately? Roosevelt has to be the ugliest president of the twentieth century. Maybe that is why dimes are smaller than other coins. So, what do you think about sabers, pennies, quarters, nickels, dimes, or any other shiny thing around your house? |

I bought a fake sword at walmart for $5 Umm... there are too many new coins, it is hard to tell what is what. Someone at my work accepted a Canadian Nickel for a dime, they actually look a lot a like. So yeah that is new. Oh I bought a "range" extender for my powerbook. It is this funny little antenna that was supposed to double my range. Yeah it didn't work at all. So now I need to yell at the company. Oh that reminds me I need to write a strongly worded letter to AOL about how one of their tech support people called me a lier and that I didn't know what I was doing. <_< |

I ordered two more swords today. I should receive them next week. Hey! How can someone confuse a Canadian nickel for a dime? Have they changed the size of nickels in Canada? Can you get a refund? |

You are just asking someone to get stabbed aren't you. ![]()
Well the Canadian dude who I work with (I know he accepted the coin) said it was a Canadian nickel. He didn't let me get a good look at the coin.
Yes, yes I can, surprisingly it was easy. It will be in the main tomorrow... erm monday i guess now. |

I don't particularly have an affinity for swords and stuff like that, but I like to keep shiny coins, Euro coins that have the more uncommon designs on them (not the boring French one) e.g. Nederlands. My mom used to collect old coins and I like looking at the collection sometimes. |

I have a few foreign coins. Some Canadian, a Nazi 5 p piece, some other WW2 era coins and currency. But my prize is a coin of Napolean III from the 1840s (?), I believe. |
