All except for the growls of the undead as they searched for survivors for a midnight snack, so to speak. Lurking the streets of this god forsaken town wasn't just the denizens of the dead, though.. A human lurked these streets, that humans name? Hunter Evans. Maybe the undead could sense that there was someone living, lurking around, as they seemed to be oddly aware of the goings on around this location. Or at the very least, more aware than you'd of expected them to be. Hunter was scavenging a few local businesses of whatever supplies he could find, or anything he may find valuable later. Though the small trinket store he was in didn't have a whole lot in the way of valuables, that he noticed anyway. Just when he thought he could get some momentary peace, and scavenge supplies, he heard a noise in the alley near the building. He took this as his cue and escaped the building onto the streets, attempting to be as stealthy as possible. As he walked past the alley, a zombie stumbled out of the alley, clawing wildly at him. It didn't get him, but it did manage to knock the plastic bag he had been throwing things in, while in the store, onto the ground..

"Son of a.." He lamented as he pulled his machete and sliced at the walker. He didn't get a chance to see if he had killed it, or not. But, he wasn't worried about that, feeling his safety at the moment was more important than taking the possible chance of being overrun by a horde. He could hear some footsteps in the distance, and hoped it wasn't a group of walkers. He rushed through the darkened streets until he came across a bus, well, a broken down husk of what was once a bus, now destroyed somewhat. He quietly attempted to force the door open, and after a brief period of jarring it, he managed to succeed. He squeezed through the door and pulled it back shut.

He hunkered down in the back of the bus, making sure to check it for any dead, not finding any. Though, it did look like a massacre had occurred at one point or another. He listened closely to the goings on outside of the bus, taking a seat as he waited to see if the streets would get any clearer. He propped his feet up in the seat and set his bag nearby, his trusty machete sitting in the floor right within his reach should he need it. The street nearest to the window of the bus had became illuminated with moonlight, and he could see a stray walker or two, likely scavenging for food themselves. He stretched out in the back of the bus, closing his eyes for a moment as he attempted to get himself a little rest. Though he surely was not going to sleep to sound, being in this situation.. She's probably changed her sleeping habits since the arrival of the walkers. Mostly asleep during the day and awake at night. There was something about the night that kept the walkers highly active- so if she wasn't scamming for supplies in the day, she'd probably be asleep at some little hole in the wall with a quick exit. Out of just utter frustration, Arianna stationed herself by a window terrace just found at the second floor of a building. Silently, she would behead walkers with an axe she found in one of the buildings fire hazard kit. But she never dared touch those in groups, just these individual idiots she thought to herself.
To kill in this time required a lot of skill given the absence of light. From where she sat, she saw an image moving towards the bus- but not like a walker, he appeared to have full control of his every movement, he had fluidity. This provoked Arianna to raise an eyebrow- he looked like he was quite a big fella. With pursed lips, Arianna suddenly thought of the advantages and disadvantages of having someone like him travel with her. She studied him carefully as he entered, Arianna would then identify two zombies trailing behind him- she shook her head as she sighed a giggle.
Just before one could grab unto his leg, Arianna would swing the axe in utter force- beheading another zombie. As the other one attempted to bite her arm, she swung his way; opening up his stomach as to deem him incapable of walking. He was a dead, but alive, but pretty much dead and useless- except for his head that continued to growl like a sick monkey. Arianna smiled, before swiftly moving her head from left to right; ensuring there were no other walkers in sight. She swiftly entered the bus to see the man she saw earlier-she was left utterly speechless to see a man that looked like him after quite some time. But she refused to give him a compliment- instead, in her unnoticed motion, she gave herself and the man a little distance- it was not going to be a good idea to startle him, but Arianna knew no other way to get his attention.
"So...are you on a suicide mission or what?"
She uttered in anticipation of what he was going to do.

[/dohtml] |

When the commotion died down, and the walkers were disposed of, Hunter was able to gain his composure in this situation. He grabbed his machete just in the case it was another raider looking to kill him, and take whatever supplies he had on him. He pulled it to his side and looked to see a woman. She was a peculiar sight, considering the few women he'd seen were being massacred by the denizens of the dead. But then she spoke, and in a rather sarcastic manner at that. Now, if you didn't have anything nice to say, you shouldn't really be saying anything at all, right? Kind of. I mean, he himself didn't go by that rule all the time, but this situation may of called for it.

"Darlin', if I were on a suicide mission, I'd of went the other way when I saw those things.." He pointed that out. If he had wanted to die, he'd of ran right into a group of them and let them go to town. But he wasn't about to nitpick. He proceeded to observe her in a rather curious manner, trying to figure her out. He sat on the steps of the bus, looking her over. "I do appreciate the rescue though, gorgeous. I could of had a chunk taken right out of my ass, I tell you what." He talked as if he were attempting to be friendly, but behind this overall attitude, he wasn't entirely trusting of her.

Then again, why should be be? Though their conversation was stopped for just a moment by the howling of the head of one of the zombies. It wasn't yet deceased, or it was, but wasn't.. out of this world yet, I guess? He stood up, dusting off his jeans and picking up his machete. He walked past the unknown woman, looking over her features as he stood over the head. It wildly chomped as if it were going to eat anything or anyone in sight. And with a fluid motion, Hunter drove the machete right into the side of the skull of the undead creature. As he bent over to rip his machete back out of the creature, he turned his head in her direction. "Is your fine ass going to drool over my fine ass all day, or is there something you need from me, mam?" He stood up and turned towards her, strolling back over to the shell of a bus and climbing into it, proceeding to take a rest in the drivers seat and await an answer. [/dohtml] |

You know, I only had two choices there. Either 1, I let that zombie take a big bite out of you or 2, I let myself in and maybe take my chance at giving you a bite myself..."
A sudden air of flirtation filled the poorly ventilated spaces in the god forsaken bus. The ghastly scent of death matched with the sound of clacking head- certainly the most romantic site for someone ever so sarcastic. The confidence in Arianna's tone was poignant as she didn't have a problem blatantly engaging the man in conversation.
Her eyes were focused on the definition of his arms as he drove the machete- in success, he silenced the head, allowing the two a moment to themselves. Before paying close attention to the man, Arianna scanned the vicinity with what her eyes allowed her to see. It was hard times indeed, after years and years of power and light, suddenly the darkness was everywhere and one had to trust their gut. There were no strange movements, nor sounds almost animalistic in nature- even crickets didn't seem to enjoy the walker invasion. It was calm, a rare occasion.
She then paid attention to the man before her; he was indeed someone she scanned to be useful along the way. Arianna always prioritized surviving- and the man seemed skill. In her head she had already pictured being adopted into a surviving group together, and eventually taking over. In this time, there is no need to buy protection- all you need is loyalty and service to those who can protect you.
"As far as drooling is considered, I can do wonders with my mouth that you may want to explore. My name is Arianna. Care to share something about you thy yummy one?"
Arianna's confidence was evident in her smirk.

[/dohtml] |

At first she had given him a bit of a sarcastic comment. Now there was an extra air of flirtation coming from her. Needless to say this was a bit of a confusing situation, and he wasn't sure where she was going with this. I mean, it wouldn't be entirely unheard of for a lady to attempt to pull you in with the flirty attitude. Then turn on you and take everything you've got, especially at a time like this one. And it paid not to trust random people too much nowadays, after all. "So, is this the part where you flirt with me, catch me off guard, and I don't know.. Kill me? Take my stuff? Something? What exactly is your reason behind this whole.. conversation, sweet cheeks?"

He cracked a little grin, as he leaned back in the seat, his hand yet to leave his machete, just in case. He had became somewhat hardened over this whole ordeal, not the thing about Arianna's mouth, I mean the whole.. dead getting up and walking ordeal. Though, the other way was somewhat true as well. He considered this situation thoroughly in the back of his mind, though, he heard a few disconcerting noises off in the distance. Likely another walker searching for prey of some sort. Though it was far enough away for him to not worry about this ladies safety, and even if he should, well.. She seemed to be able to handle herself.

"Yummy one though? Haha. Alright, I guess I'll bite.. What to share.. Oh, alright I got one. I've seen you looking, and it's even bigger than you're imagining it is, right now.." A rather crass comment from Hunter as a smirk slowly appeared across his face in response to that whole line of dialogue. He had a bit of a attitude problem, he'd be the first to admit that one. Though, he was somewhat curious as to exactly what this ladies motive was.. [/dohtml] |

Steal your stuff? I'm sorry, but do I have to remind you?"
She looked around, checking the are if there were more walkers- though her eyes weren't as powerful as she wanted them to be, there it was still quite easy to spot shadows. There was none at the moment, but as she scanned the area all the way up to inside the bus, her eyes met the handsome man's; she pursed her lips.
"Because I wouldn't really be bragging about biting anyone since I think I almost saved you from being a lovely walkers midnight snack. Though, not that I'm saying you owe me or anything...break your wall a little you know."
The confidence in her tone was exactly like a man's; she even ended her statement with a wink. It was beyond obvious that she had been used to this kind of arena. Especially with how she mastered her weapons, it was no surprise she spoke that way.
"What I'm saying is, its a hard place to survive alone. Yes we can from time to time to annoy the annoying fucks who whine all day long, but at the end of the day, you need someone to watch your back...and thats my proposal. I'll watch your back, you can watch mine..."
She stared into him- an ounce of sincerity reflected on the face of the cold-hearted woman, but she couldn't be too careless. How do you propose in a matter of seconds of meeting someone? Hell, its all about survival.
"I'm not really into dying alone because I'm outnumbered. And besides, at least if we stick together, I can die knowing I still had an orgasm..."
Arianna winked again as a giggle escaped her smile.

[/dohtml] |

Quite an interesting proposal she had placed upon him. He sat in the bus, considering the scenario at hand. While he wasn't the trusting type, for some reason, he did. At least enough to consider the offer and not attempt to cut out her throat. Which was progress, right? But this whole air of flirting was slightly off putting, it had to be. With the situation they had found themselves in, flirting was typically the last thing people would have in mind.

"I'll tell you what.." He considered this further for just a moment, it was sort of a tough call. It really was. "I'll watch whatever you've got, your back included. A slightly cheesy line, but it gave him a light little chuckle none the less. He proceeded to stand up, picking up his bag in the process and slung it over his right shoulder. He stepped down the bus' steps and stood in front of the lovely lady..

But as he was, a large clap of thunder was heard off in the distance as he looked up in the sky, then right down back at her. "Know of any decent shelter around these parts? Might not be the best bet for our new traveling arrangement if one or both of us dies from pneumonia." He thought about this for just a bit. It might of been a bit forward but, drowning wasn't something he had on his agenda for this evening.. "By the way, I never introduced myself. But the names Hunter, Hunter Evans. It's a pleasure to have you stare at my rear end." He uttered in quite the egotistical tone as he walked around in front of her, observing the clouds rolling in above. [/dohtml] |

Her lips blew away the hair that covered her face; whipping it so femininely; Arianna's fingers traced a line across Hunter's body.
"I know of a shelter, but with the way you're looking at me you seem like you want some sanctuary..."
Arianna smirked matched with a wink. Her eyes scanned the area carefully; the darkness blurring her vision but nonetheless able to see movement. She referred to the shelter she'd been staying at; it was quite a walk up a flight of stairs; but it was their safe bet-safer than the bus. It was an old club down the street. It had steel doors, a roof top and a large supply of untouched booze and a few canned goods- Arianna knew of a way inside since it was already locked prior to her arrival.
"You can follow me, but I doubt you'll be able to stare at anything in the dark...why dont we keep our eyes open before some mother fucking walker decides to have us for dinner. Then when we get there you can continue undressing me with those horny eyes..."
She shook her head; laughing again. She was quite nervous with the plan, she had no idea who he was- but he was obviously someone that pushed her buttons in a more sexual way; plus he didn't seem like someone she had to carry around.
"I hope your gun has bullets..."
Her eyes eyed the area of his crotch before she smirked- winking at him one last time before she started to walk forward.

[/dohtml] |

Really? He thought for just a second before he started walking along with her. He had no idea where this shelter was, but he was guessing the very best bet was to let her lead the way. "Lets worry about getting to whatever shelter you know of, entrails still in our bodies before we worry further about my gun having bullets.." He chuckled. It was a particularly dark sounding ordeal, but, he found it funny for one reason or another. Maybe it was just a black sense of humor. He also echoed her sentiments earlier about walkers having them for dinner.

As he strolled along, still following, he heard some rather loud noises from an alley nearby. It could of been a rat, or it could be that something has been alerted to their presence. He wasn't particularly certain of which it was, just yet.. "Shh.. I think there's a walker nearby." He stated, and it was dark, so they were at a disadvantage compared to a walker, who simply went off a uncontrollable lust to kill them.

"I hope you're able to handle yourself, little lady.." He said in a hushed tone as he continued to move along, taking a chance every now and again to scope out his surroundings. He wasn't going to let a walker sneak up on them, if he could help it. And he figured he could, as they weren't exactly the most quiet. If one was coming, he figured he'd be alerted to it at some point. But it didn't hurt to be remotely cautious, still. [/dohtml] |

Arianna kept silent; she paid attention trying to muster her ears to paint her a clearer picture- what could be the sound? Walker? pest? Ariana shook her head.
"Shhhh...."
She said almost authoritatively as Hunter provoked her with his little comments. If she could handle it? The lady shook her head- if only he had seen the things she had done in the past way before the walkers had arrived. Arianna was highly skilled and saved several important lives; getting rid of the walker would not be as difficult as it would seem. Though if it was more than one- that would be a different story.
"Oh if I could handle this? Watch me."
She motioned for him to stay put; Arianna walked a few steps- and almost suddenly she heard the eerie roar of the walking corpse. Arianna trusted her ear; almost swiftly she bent down- using her legs as a sweeper and knocking down the walker; with quick skills she found herself back on her feet and almost immediately using her bayonet to drill a hole straight unto the walkers skull.
What surprised her was the sound of yet another footstep- Arianna closed her eyes and once again allowed the sound to show her what was happening; in a quick gasp she moved herself to the direction of Hunter.
"Look out! One had called. Then the shrill treble of Arianna's voice seemed to hover loosely on the dense night air for just sheer fractions of a second. Followed by a low, more muffled and damp noise, which seemed to resolve after a few chimes as night turned back to momentary silence. Around the city streets, close in proximity of the sound origins, only a couple of heads turned. One, the closest of the curious few, began to stand from his position on the hard wood floors he called home. His bones were as brittle as his skin was whole, each step seemed to snap from the bottom up, and as he neared a window in his room of resting something fell from him in a chunky strip to the floor. There was nothing to see for him at all hours of the day, little bits of noise too far and obscured in the distance to inspire sincere movement, but these weren't of the ordinary and looking through the window he caught wind immediately of what was up for grabs. It threw it's weight against the window, breaking the fragile glass, and moaning as it's head plummeted into the frame unable to get outside. The couple others, located on opposite sides of the street, took full notice and echoed the call back like sonar. They stumbled lonesome towards the newly established meeting place, a dozen strewn about, but dozens more voicing their rise. Their calls echoed back for a few blocks of range until interest appeared to be minimum or busy with their own nightly work. The Horde was assembling, restless, and impatient to feed. |

She couldn't believe what had happened- actually, she could. It only took a matter of minutes before her anxiety materialized into the sight of the walking dead. She combed her hair out of her face before she spoke once more.
"Fuck, that was a close one. I think we should get out of here before more of those fuckers show up..."
Arianna stood up swiftly; her hands reaching for her bag in cat-like speed as she took out her flashlight. It was the one she picked up from the fire department; and as she shone light on the road before her, what she saw wouldn't shock her, but piss her the hell off instead.
"These bastards...are you armed?"
She asked in a voice of authority, reflecting her police background. She took her gun and aimed it at one; then again, her ears would succumb to the sound of more footsteps and unearthly wailing; she would turn around to see more of them coming- they were as good as cornered by dozens; more of which were from behind them. Arianna continued to move her light; trying to find a nice spot to escape- then the sight of a fire exit ladder- it was directly behind a barrier. That was the challenge.
"Hey sexy! You see that ladder over there? Its that or our ticket to hell right now."
Arianna uttered in a gasp. The sight and sounds already tormented her.

[/dohtml] |

But he saw Arianna whip out her flash light, and illuminate the area. And his reaction to this scenario at hand was no better than hers. Walkers were gathering, they had sensed the two of them in the vicinity, one would have to think. And that didn't bode well for this duo who had just recently met one another..

"I don't have a gun, but I've got a machete. Should be good enough.." He uttered as he pulled it from the bag he had kept most of his items in, and swung it at a walker who had tried to lunge in upon them. He caught it in the throat with the blade, effectively severing the head. But, there were more coming so this couldn't work for very long.. Next thing he knew, he saw her light illuminate a ladder, which seemed to be their way out. If they could fight their way over there. He listened to what she said, and replied. "You get over to the ladder somehow, and I'll keep them off you while you do."

He saw the numbers game was starting to take effect, but none the less, before it got worse he began fighting his way towards the ladder. In an attempt to clear the path to the area. He intended to follow behind her and keep things clear until she was safe, but it was a lot easier said than done. And in the back of his mind? Part of him kept asking why the need to be so chivalrous, she could clearly take care of herself. But none the less, all he could do was give his best attempt to watch his new found friends back while keeping these creatures at bay. [/dohtml] |

Though he could defend himself; that wasn't the question.
"Are you crazy? With a machete? You will only be able to fend them for so long, they will take what opportunity they can to have you."
Arianna's hands almost cat-like worked ever so quickly as she now had two guns in her hand. She started shooting some more just to buy them a little time; she was thinking of a possible way to get up to the ladder without being chow.
"Take this gun. You watch my back. This is what we'll do. I will make my way to that ladder- I will shoot what I can, now that has a full magazine- so shoot those who I can't see. When I get to the ladder, I will watch your back from there and shoot down whatever you can't see. Sounds good?"
Arianna eyed him directly- wanting to know that she meant business. But he did to- she could tell. He was going to be able to deliver it perfectly, the challenge was for her to keep a close eye on whoever he can't see when it was her turn to watch him. It wasn't the best for the two since it was night.
"Take this extra light too. Are you ready?"

[/dohtml] |
