Eli was running, he knew where he was, as he had been through the area once today. He had gone too far, and almost walked right into a as he called them, meatbag. He could have shot it but knew that would only attract more of them. He had left his bag behind the tire of a car he had ran into when he was first coming through the area only taking his colt with him. He knew he was getting close to where he had left his bag, as he heard the quiet beep from his iPod inside it. He didn't know whether the meatbags could hear the mosquito sound or not that it sent off every five minutes or so. It wasn't anything too complicated, it was simply set up to loop, while the recording only played it for a few seconds but was two minutes long. He slowed down, waiting for the beep to go off once again. He drew his gun, just in case anything snuck up on him. Blind or not, he could tell the general direction of things. It was dead silent, with only the sound of his breathing. He didn't smell flesh either, so that was a good sign. Then he heard the mosquito sound and ran towards where it came from. He estimated about where the car would be, and jumped to jump over the hood. He was a bit earlier with the jump, and hit his feet on the side of the car as he was jumping. He hoped his feet wouldn't have had hit it, but of course they did. It sent him forward into a slight flip, and he landed on the other side with a thud on his back. He groaned, doing all he could not to make any louder sound. Being blind sucked at times, the only advantages in his mind was sometimes he could hear or smell things other couldn't. That would also work as a disadvantage at the same time. It was hard for him, but he had started to learn to deal with not having anyone but himself. He rolled over onto his stomach, and moved himself closer to the car on his knees reaching behind the wheel and grabbed the bag. He pulled it out from under the car, and opened it up taking out the SOG double headed axes. Someone would probably laugh at him if they saw him with them, knowing he was blind. He felt more secure with them though, he could swing them more than once without having to worry about ammunition, in case he didn't hit them in the head. Re-zipping the bag, he slung it onto his back with both straps, and started walking being careful not to run into anything to make sure he didn't hurt himself, or anyone else. Eli could deal with hurting himself, but not someone else. He walked until he found a door to what he assumed was a store. Opening the doors, he walked inside. he didn't smell, or hear any meatbags so he walked until he ran into the counter. He set the stuff on the ground that was on there that he could lift. He hopped over the counter, pulling out his iPod going through the songs until he found one he liked and put his headphones, laying behind the counter deciding that it was good cover for a rest, he closed his eyes to look like he was just sleeping to anyone that might have found him. |

Torrance wasn't ever much to stick with the group. Thy had plenty of food to last them at least a few days, even with the growing number of mouths to feed. Water supply looked even more plentiful then food. Ammo looked pretty good as well, and as Torrance poked through the supplies she seemed to be looking for an excuse to get out into the world. Today...she though it be best to use ammo as an excuse. Hoping the other's would buy it as a good reason for her to get away. She stepped out into the familiar hot sticky air and headed off in the direction of the sporting good store she knew of in the area. Moving quickly, weaving in and around the buildings for cover from walkers, and anything else for that matter. She pushed open the door with caution, her pistol in hand as her eyes darted around the area. Moving through the aisles of the small store, it appeared as though the ammo shelves where picked pretty clean, a few boxes left to the floor spilled to the floor in a mess of random shells and bullets. Torrance collected what she could find useful, and stuff it in her usual over the shoulder messenger bag. The gun case seemed just as empty as the ammo shelves, however there remained a few compound bows, and a few large boxes of arrows. Torrance pondered the thought for a moment. Perhaps it was time she took up archery. She smirked to herself as she plucked the remaining two compound bows free of the gun, and slung them over each shoulder. It certainly limited her movement she'd noticed, but the prize was too good to give up. She took as many arrows out of on of the two boxes, thinking the longer of the two sizes was best. She took was she could fit in her bag, letting the feathered tips hang out the side of her bag. Limiting her movement that much more. She sighed as she stood up straight realizing this probably wasn't her best idea...though the stubborn mind set refused to give in. She'd have to move quickly and get back to her base as soon as possible. This was a compromised mobility she was extremely uncomfortable with. She pushed the bow on her shoulder back a little to allow herself to dig in her bag further past the arrows, hoping to find her usual bottled water. "Fuck!" She cussed under her breath. She'd forgotten to pack water she'd been trying so hard to get away from the group. A mistake that made her burning parched throat curse her in agony. With the extra weight, it would be near impossible for her to make it back without water. She'd be drained if she made it before getting caught by a walker. The convenient store was just next door, and she mentally weighed her options. Her dry wheezing cough insisted she at least give it a shot...and so she did. she picked her usual 9mm pistol up from the shelve she'd placed it on to collect her bootie, and moved from one store to the next. The door slung open and her eyes impatiently began searching the floor for any bottle liquids. She'd only taken a few steps in the door when she looked up enough to see the seemingly napping young looking man slung on the counter. She gasped and jumped back pointing her gun in the direction of the young man on instinct. Walker's don't sleep...and they certainly don't use iPods. Torrance stepped closer with her gun raised at the young man, hopping she wouldn't wake him before she was fully prepared to deal with him. |

Eli bobbed his head to the quiet music, he would have it louder but he needed to be aware of his surroundings still. If anything with rotting flesh came into the store he would know almost instantly of course, seeing as they smelled horribly. Though, sometimes people didn't smell strong enough that he'd be able to tell right away. Which led him to his reasoning for having the volume down so low. Of course, it wasn't his best idea to simply lay on a cashier counter like area. With the way people were now a days he had to be careful. The world had gone to hell, and some of the people had decided to do what was needed to survive, at any cost. He didn't like the idea, and whether it seemed silly or not, he wouldn't be able to trust anyone who lived like that in his opinion. It was scary, and he was one of the most vulnerable types of people he could think of. He could smell the rotting flesh of meat bags, even if he was down an alley out of site, but not human's if they didn't have a strong odor. He thought about what he was doing, and realized how stupid it was. He shouldn't be just laying out in the open with his bag behind the counter. If someone was quiet enough, they could walk up and cut his head off without him even having time to stop them before he was dead. He thought about what he had memorized, for the time being anyways, trying to figure out how to get out of the area quick and quietly in case anyone had already seen him and wanted to kill him for his stuff. He figured out the plan he wanted to use from what he remembered, but then he heard something. He silently cursed himself for being so stupid, letting someone see him. He wasn't getting charged yet, so he took that as a good sign of course. When he heard the person gasp, he slowly raised both of his hands where they could see them and not worry about him trying anything. He slowly reached one arm up to the head phones and slid them off. "I'm just going to turn off the iPod..." He lowered his arm down to the iPod, and turned it off completely to save some of its battery since he didn't know when he'd be able to actually take the time to recharge it would be. He quickly moved his hand from where the iPod was on next to him on the counter, to his open bag with his gun hanging out of it some. He wrapped his fingers around the butt of the gun, moving it as fast as he could pointing it in the general direction of the person. Seeing as it was in his left hand, he put his other hand on the butt and let go with the left so he was holding it with his right now. He sat up, keeping it in the same area shaking slightly. "Who are you? Do you have a gun pointed at me? Are you going to hurt me?" he asked, speaking fast. He didn't want to get hurt, but he didn't want to have to hurt anyone else either. If it came down to it, he'd run. Which would probably end up in him falling, and getting killed but it was worth a shot right? |

She stood feet planted firmly to the floor, her gun pointed at the young man with deadly aim. She let him pull his iPod free of his ears, and as he reached for his gun and pulled it on her. She cocked her gun and pointed it right between his eyes. However his own aim was significantly off, and his next line of fast spun questions made her tilt her head to one side in confusion. Not exactly something you ask someone who clearly does have a gun pointed at your head. especially since you have pulled a gun on that person as well, "Are you stupid er somethin'?" She asked with total seriousness. She let one of the compound bows slung over her shoulder slip to the floor as quietly as she could, her yes never left the young man in front of her, her gun still aimed in his direction. It helped her movement a little but not enough for her comfort. The arrows still protruding out the side of her bag, and the other bow still weighing on her other shoulder. It'd almost be too easy to end this now and shot the boy right between the eyes, or somewhere close to that...however even she lacked the cold heartedness to just end the poor kid now. Stupid could be manipulated easily. Never know when you need a pawn. "What's yur name kid," She asked narrowing her eyes at him. |
