It has been confirmed that the Action Zone taping at Madison Square Garden will be longer than AWF’s usual TV tapings as more air time has been granted from the main networks that air the show in North America as the promotion is looking to put on more matches than usual.

Announced matches so far:

Main Event
World Openweight Championship
Jeff Jarrett© vs Chris Jericho

Canadian National Championship
Caleb Stills© vs Michael Elgin

Tag Team Championship
Bullet Club (Kenny Omega and Markus Ryan)© vs The Hardys

Women's Championship
Nattie Neidhart© vs Yumi Ohka

Trish Stratus vs Act Yasukawa

Handicapped Match
Ryback vs James Storm and Brian Kendrick

With the extra time booked for the show there is talk of booking more matches for the main show. One possibility going around is 'The East End Butcher' Sha Samuels being brought in to face Harry Smith.

On an event poster at the arena currently features Tommy Dreamer. While no opponent has been announced for him yet Dreamer has confirmed he will be in attendance and will be ready to compete. One rumour making the rounds is Dreamer facing Steven Richards because of both men's and New York's connection to the history of ECW, but again nothing has been made official.

If this past week's show was an indication then expect Rusev to make his in ring debut.

The Bullet Club may have a disadvantage as their plot for multi-promotion dominance may backfire. As mentioned on the ActionZone BC members Ryback and Kenny Omega invaded a XCW event last weekend and captured that promotions tag titles in an impromptu match-up. AWF officials had no idea of the Bullet Club's plans and do not condone of their actions and agreed to make them available to defend the titles at XCW events until they lose the titles. Ryback and Kenny Omega heard about this and don't seem to care while Markus Ryan said he's above XCW and is his days of wrestling there are over. There is one problem with that though as XCW obtained a federal injunction ordering him to do just the opposite. He has been ordered to defend the XCW World Heavyweight Championship on XCW's upcoming card at the Hammerstein Ballroom,
one day before he and Kenny Omega defend the AWF World Tag Team Championship at Madison Square Garden. No opponent has been publicly announced as of this writing.

General Manager Bret Hart has confirmed he will be in attendance for the MSG show. No word on how with will effect Wade Barrett's spot as commissioner.

Speaking of XCW, former XCW Impact Champion Blayde Blaze has been in rehab for the past few weeks and appears to do be doing ok so far. He has been in regular contact with Jake Roberts, who agreed to help him at AWF Ring Crew member (and former XCW multi-title holder) Damien Maxwell's request after he helped Roberts get out of potential scheme set up by Wade Barrett a few weeks ago.

Despite being on the roster since day one, nobody has seen or heard from Kane since the draft lottery. Stacy Keibler also hasn't been seen on camera yet but has been doing promotional work for the company so far. No word yet on when she'll appear on camera in a regular role but an insider has said that plans for her have been approved and it is just a matter of timing.

The main event for the MSG show as we all know is scheduled as Jeff Jarrett taking on Chris Jericho, but what about the third man in the ring? At a recent independent show in Toronto Hutch Henries spoke briefly with Referee 'Oldschool' Eddington James. The segment is a short one but it shows that he's the right man for the job to call this important contest.

General Manager Bret Hart has overruled Wade Barrett with part of the card for this weekend's mega show as Bret cancelled the handicapped match between Ryback and James Storm/Brian Kendrick.

-Overall officials were pleased with the show and how it turned out, both in the ring and financially. No return date was announced when the show ended but it was announced AWF will return to New York down the road.

-The second referee that appeared during the main event is independent referee Derek Morningstar. He also officiated the bout between Harry Smith and Steven Richards.

-Caleb Stills learned of his fate early Monday morning for his attack on referee Mickie Jay following his loss of the National Title to Michael Elgin. Both Bret Hart and Wade Barrett had differences of opinion but in the end Stills will only receive a small fine for his actions. Stills also voluntary apologized to Jay for the incident. Mickie Jay did receive just a reminder that in a title fight both wrestlers should be ready, which was the only grievance Stills made that Hart found to be a valid one. Word has it though that NYSAC wanted to legitimately fine Jay as well as fine and suspend Stills but Hart and Barrett was able to get the athletic commissioner to ignore the matter, which was largely in part to Jim Cornette telling the state athletic commissioner at point to "grow a pair" as well as one of his famous "Fuck you"s.

-Axelemania shirts were a hot item at the merch booth at the show as well as Bullet Club shirts. The Hardys had a limited number of retro style shirts sold once word got out earlier in the day that Lita would be appearing. They originally were suppose to go on sale the falling week but the fall was made to sell what was on hand at the show.

-The BFFs and Chris Jericho merch also sold well. It should be noted that some of the t-shirts that were for Jericho, Deaner, Richards, and Ben Boone were not licensed AWF items but AWF officials permitted the sale of said items for a very tiny fee. Said shirts are ones normally only available from said talent during their independent bookings/appearances or from Prowrestlingtees.com, which PWTs and AWF are currently in talks, no word yet as to what but most likely it will involve shirts somehow.

-Speaking of Ben Boone, he has a new shirt that debuted at the show which one fan dubbed 'Mechabear.' 'Mechabear' actually trended on twitter for a brief period during the evening of show.
At one point before the pre-show taping Chris Jericho was spotted at the merch table buying a 'Mechabear' shirt. This wouldn't be the first time Jericho has plugged another wrestler's stuff. When Curtis Axel debuted he was shown wearing Axelmania clothing, putting over the gimmick. Word has it Boone offered Jericho his money back because Jericho's 'one of the boys' but politely turned down the offer saying he does not mind paying full price of awesome.

This news thread is brought to you in part by 'Mechabear.'

-The decision to use Damien Maxwell and Stacy Keibler in their role was a day time decision. Bushi originally had another opponent decided but plans for that fell through. No word if the pairing will be a one time thing or not.

- With Markus Ryan dropping the XCW Championship to Tommy Dreamer the night before the MSG show frees Ryan's legal requirements and no longer has to appear in XCW since he no longer is holding any of their titles. Ryback and Kenny Omega still have their tag team title (Omega and Ryan are AWF's current tag title holders). On the MSG show Dreamer vacated XCW title and handed over to AWF management and requested the title be up for grabs in a tournament. Dreamer is still listed as the champion on XCW's website as management is hoping Dreamer will change his mind. Dreamer posted on twitter saying whatever method they use he will be there the night the new champion is crowned.

-Speaking of XCW, their show the night before was suppose to be on a different day, but due to issues with their venue and other acts they were moved to the night before AWF's show. There was some concern having both shows back to back would cause some issues but both companies did well and plugged each other a tiny bit by saying attending both shows rather than picking one over the other strengthens the wrestling industry as a whole.

-Dreamer had a hand in picking his opponent for the show. A few names were bounced around but Dreamer felt that Tony Mamaluke and Big Sal would be better value dollar for dollar than some of other suggestions. Sandman, Raven, even Kevin Thorn other names tossed around.

-There was debate on the card order involving the two women's matching. The match for the title went on the spot as it did as it followed the order of the other titles being contested consecutively. There was common believe that Trish Stratus and Act Yasukawa would attempt to steal the show, or at the very least be the better of the two matches involving the women.

-Speaking of Trish, she looked a bit shaken up after taking several kicks the end during the finish. She did pass an on site concussion test but will be re-evaluated during the week.

-For those that didn't get it, Nattie Neidhart gave a shout out to former BCW owner Craig Rule. She was suppose to be on Craig's new roster before backing out. Nobody knew Nattie was going to do this but nobody minded at all when she did it.

-Various officials across the North American independents praised Oldschool Eddington James for his work in the main event. One ref went as far as to tease a possible Oldschool/Ryback feud.
