RELOADED MATCH #1: Nathan Cruz (with Josh Bodom) defeated Wolfgang via pinfall. The referee was accidentally sandwiched between the two combatants and knocked down. Josh Bodom took the chance to jump his associate's opponent from behind. Joe Coffey came to the rescue however accidentally knocked down Wolfgang with the Discus Lariat. The Prima Donna got the cover for the three to pick up the victory. RELOADED MATCH #2: Nixon Newell defeated Pollyanna Peppers via pinfall after she dragged her opponent off the ropes by her hair and delivered the Shining Wizard for the concluding three count. RJ Singh interview the victor after her win. The first EPW British Women's Champion of the modern era questioned her distance between the title picture despite her impressive win-loss record as of late. RELOADED MATCH #3: Session Moth Martina and Xia Brookside defeated The Demonic Sisterhood via pinfall after The Queen of Sesh Style saved her partner from the Silent Nightmare and then pinned Nikki Cross with the Satellite DDT in the middle of the ring. After the bell, the losing team cut their opponent's victory celebration short with a beat down. They dropped both Xia and Martina with the Silent Nightmare before leaving the ring. EPW Live #68 After Reloaded wraps up, the Live broadcast begins with a recap of last week's episode where Jack Gallagher saw himself beaten down by Big Damo following the abrupt end to his bout with Chief Deputy Dunne. We also saw Mark Haskins pick up a win, The South Pacific Power Trip earn themselves a spot in the upcoming #1 contender's four-team elimination match, Joseph Conners made his EPW in-ring debut with a convincing victory over Doug Williams and Jimmy Havoc and Strangler Davis upped the stakes in their upcoming EPW British Hardcore Championship Match when they agreed to make it a Bull Rope Match. Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness welcome us to tonight's show live from Sheffield in front of a sold-out crowd. They run down the line-up which includes Will Ospreay vs. Strangler Davis, Tyler Bate vs. Zack Gibson and The American Wolves return to the EPW ring to face off against The Kings of the North with a spot in the upcoming #1 contender's four-team elimination match up for grabs. Jim Smallman goes to step in to introduce the wrestlers down for the opener. He hesitates as the music of Big Damo plays over the arena. The Beast From Belfast stomps down to the ring with Dave Finlay by his side. As the #1 contender steps through the ropes, his mentor snatches the microphone from announcer Smallman's hand. Boos echo around the arena when Finlay informs us that Jack Gallagher will not be in attendance tonight. He goes on to explain that due to the injuries he sustained at the hands of the most destructive force in this company, the reigning EPW British Undisputed Champion will be laid up for the foreseeable future. Dave Finlay then asks William Regal to do the right thing and Damo the belt via forfeit. Instead of the commissioner, The C.C.K enter. Chris Brookes and Kid Lykos have been known to have the back of Jack Gallagher since his title reign began a number of months ago and it appears that alliance continues on tonight. The duo keep their distance however Brookes is not shy to verbalise his disgust at Damo's treatment of the champion last week. Finlay then offers Brookes a match later on so Damo can 'squash him like a bug'. After thinking it over, The Calamari Catch King bravely accepts the challenge and warns the 300lbs+ man beast not to under-estimate him. The crowd is well behind the underdog. He and Lykos get the crowd going as we head in to our first break. Will Ospreay vs. Strangler Davis The fans are well behind The Aerial Assassin since his comeback. He is showing the fine attitude once again which earned him the respect of crowds around the country in the early years of his career. As the success grew, so did his ego however his form soon dwindled and he saw the error of his ways. His opponent tonight is a relative newcomer. Strangler Davis may have made an impact since arriving a couple of months ago but is yet to turn that in to many proper convincing victories. Joseph Conners is seen observing this one from the back on a monitor. This could be something to do with the run in he and Ospreay had a couple of weeks ago. In the opening minutes, Davis attempts to slow down the pace and not allow Will Ospreay to pull off any of that high-flying offence he is known for. The Aerial Assassin soon speeds things up by nailing Davis with a Springboard Forearm Smash. He takes to the ropes to attempt the 450 Splash. His opponent manages to get his knees up though and quickly turns the tables with a Sidewalk Slam. Strangler follows up with a Running Corner Splash before attempting to lock on the Strangle Hold. As Ospreay begins to fade, the lights flicker and suddenly Jimmy Havoc appears on the apron. The EPW British Hardcore Champion has fallen victim to attacks from Strangler Davis over the past couple of weeks. It looks like he is out for redemption. Davis tries to strike first but Havoc jumps back down to ringside. As Strangler turns his attention back to his opponent, he is dropped with a School Boy Roll-Up before being blasted with a Low Superkick. The King of the Deathmatch leaves ringside. He has taken his arch-enemy's trademark bull rope with him as he exits up the aisle. Will Ospreay seals the deal with the Oscutter. He hooks the leg and secures the win. The referee then raises the victor's arm to a big cheer from the sold-out Sheffield crowd. Ospreay takes to each turnbuckle to salute his fans. As he reaches the last, the image of Joseph Conners still watching on the monitor in the back appears on the video screen. This week it is Ospreay sending the message to his newfound rival that he isn't a hard man to find. William Regal is watching the show from his office. Chief Deputy Dunne suddenly bursts through the door barking all sorts on his mega-phone. The one thing we can take from his rant is that he counts that pathetic DQ finish against Jack Gallagher last week as a 'victory'. The commissioner finds it amusing that the self-proclaimed leader of the anti-fun police would see getting his arse handed to him by Big Damo as any sort of victory. Dunne argues that he has a win over the champ therefore believes he deserves a championship match against him as soon as possible. He even proposes Regal making the scheduled title match between Gallagher and Damo a Triple Threat Match. The boss is having none of it though. He does have a proposition for the arrogant try-hard. If he can pick up a victory on next week's episode, he will allow Dunne and a partner of his choosing to enter the four-team elimination match at EPW Live #70: Merseyside Mayhem. After a second thought, Dunne agrees and shakes the hand of the commissioner. That seems a fair deal. Looking at Dunne's recent record though, a victory seems a definite long shot. Tyler Bate vs. Zack Gibson Liverpool's Number One walks down to the ring yelling at the fans in attendance. They respond with the toxic heat that he has come to expect. He begins to run down Sheffield but is interrupted by the sound of his opponent's music. Tyler Bate gets a fantastic reception on his way to the ring. The 20-year old rookie gets one of the biggest reactions of the night as he proudly hoists his EPW British Tag Team Championship above his head when he climbs the turnbuckles to salute the crowd. These two's respective teams will clash in two weeks with the aforementioned gold on the line. In the mean time, we will see them go to war in singles action. Trent Seven also goes one-on-one with James Drake next week. The early stages is made up of some slow, methodical chain wrestling on the canvas. The momentum swings each way. Zack Gibson eventually bends the rules by raking the eyes of the opponent and dropping him with a Dragon Screw. One of the most hated men on the EPW roster then locks his opponent in a Single-Leg Crab. His younger and smaller opponent is in pain. He still manages to find the strength to pull himself to the ropes to break the hold. Gibson dominates for a couple more minutes yet though. He uses strikes to wear down The Iron Master before executing a Helter Skelter Brainbuster for a near fall. As Zack tries to keep hold of the momentum, Tyler claws his way back in to the match with a Rebound Lariat. The fans rally behind the babyface. Bate pulls off a Monkey Flip, an Exploder Suplex and a Standing Shooting Star Press in quick succession for a near fall of his own. The match rolls on with Bate climbing up the ropes to attempt a high-risk move. Gibson reacts by running the ropes to send Tyler wobbling. Liverpool's Number One then executes an Arm Drag to bring his opponent down to the canvas and applies the Shankley Gates. With his submission finisher locked on, you would think Zack Gibson would have this match sealed up. His opponent is Tyler Bate though who has a way out of almost any hold. He struggles for a while but then manages to roll out and then blasts his opponent with a Rolling Wheel Kick. The fans go nuts when he quickly executes the Tyler Driver '97 before Gibson can even hit the mat. He holds on for a pinfall. The referee counts three. Tyler Bate picks up the win. As his music plays and his arm is raised by the official, he is jumped from behind almost immediately by James Drake. Mr. Mayhem must have been waiting to pounce as soon as he saw things going badly for his partner. The assault soon turns in to a 2-on-1 attack. Drake looks to set up Tyler for the Sit-Out DDT. The fans jeers turn to cheers when Trent Seven sprints down the aisle to save his partner. The champions clear the ring of the #1 contenders immediately to assert their dominance. The Grizzled Young Veterans may have a guaranteed title match in the bag however Moustache Mountain are far from ready to lose their championship gold just yet. Viper makes her way down the aisle to a warm welcome from the Sheffield crowd. We are told by the commentary team that she has requested some time out in the ring to address the fans. The ex-champ makes it known that she is not happy about her title reign coming to an end in such a ridiculous fashion and she intends on getting her rematch by any means necessary. As champion she tore through the women's division and she would like to see anybody in the locker room make a better case for having the next shot at Kay Lee Ray ahead of her. Viper waits for a moment. Eventually the music of Noam Dar plays. The Scottish Supernova walks out on to the stage alone with the EPW British Women's Championship around his own waist. The reigning champ has obviously let him temporarily put it on as a way of sticking it to her arch-enemy. Noam Dar then mocks Viper by telling the Sheffield crowd that standing in the ring is a whale of a 'woman' who should be locked up in a cage for offending every mirror she's ever walked past. Jeers echo around the arena. He eventually moves his attention to the business at hand and informs Viper that she can have a shot at the gold if she can walk out of her match next week victorious. Viper's opponent will be... himself; 'The Scottish Supernova' Noam Dar. He tells Viper that he will not hesitate to show her how a real man wrestles. Whilst he flexes, she says she has no problem in humiliating Dar next week and going on to take her place back at the top of the women's division. Finally a statement the crowd can get behind. Viper raises her arms and her music plays. The crowd chant her name repeatedly as Noam Dar raises the belt he brought out with him up high. The American Wolves vs. The Kings of the North Bonesaw and Damien Corvin were at the very top of the tree in the tag team division just a few weeks ago with the gold around their waist, Dave Finlay mentoring them and the monstrous Big Damo having their back. Over the last month, they have lost their belts and seen both of their allies distance themselves from them. What also came was a six-man tag team loss to their opponent tonight. Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards are world-renowned competitors in both singles competition and as one of the world's finest tag teams. A spot in the upcoming four-team elimination match is at stake. The American Wolves prove that they can live up to the hype with a simply flawless performance. The Kings of the North struggle to gain any ground on their opponents. The import team waste no time in showcasing their double team moves as they drop Bonesaw with a Phoenix Splash/Yokosuka Cutter combination and a Vertical Suplex by Richards in to a Superkick by Edwards. Damien Corvin tags himself in. He immediately tries to go chop for chop with Davey Richards which doesn't go down well. Corvin comes out with red marks on his chest and winds up getting a Running Corner Elbow Smash for his troubles. Next in is Eddie Edwards. After entering the match with a Springboard Double Foot Stomp, he follows up with a Springboard Moonsault to a standing applause from the crowd. The EPW fan-base have really take to The Wolves since arriving a couple of weeks back. They finish off their opponent with the Force of Nature. Edwards makes the cover. This one is over nearly as quick as it begun. The American Wolves sure did impress though. They earn themselves a spot in the upcoming four-team elimination match with the #1 contendership on the line. RJ Singh is standing by in the backstage area for an interview. He is joined by Will Ospreay who is extremely happy to be back to winning ways after defeating Strangler Davis earlier tonight. The Aerial Assassin did take a moment to give it up for his opponent calling him a gutsy competitor who took him to the limit. When asked about the outside interference from Jimmy Havoc, Ospreay claims he only realised once he got to the back that anything was dodgy. He is willing to battle Strangler Davis at a later date to clear up any controversy though. As RJ Singh calls it a fair statement, the two are confronted by Joseph Conners. The Righteous Killer is slowly clapping. He finds Ospreay's words amusing but doesn't believe the statement was genuine at all. Just because the people believe that the world-travelled superstar has changed his ways, he believes he can see right through him. Conners follows up by calling him a fraud and a fake. This time, Ospreay isn't going to stay quiet. He expresses his frustration at the way the rookie treated Doug Williams and calls him an arrogant, disrespectful punk. Thing start to get tense to the point it may get physical. Joseph Conners eventually lets up but warns his newfound rival not to look down when they go toe-to-toe in the ring. Did we just see a challenge laid down their? Big Damo (with Dave Finlay) vs. Chris Brookes The #1 contender has well over 100lbs on his opponent tonight and Nigel McGuinness predicts we have a one-way main event coming our way. We may not be wrong as Chris Brookes struggles to find a way to gain any ground on Big Damo. He does however avoid taking to much damage in the first couple of minutes. The Beast From Belfast grabs him around the neck and throws a few knife-edge chops. The slap echoes around the arena. Damo then launches his opponent to the opposite set of turnbuckles. As Brookes stumbles out, he is nailed with a Running Low Crossbody followed by a Running Senton. The man beast looks like he is having fun though. Dave Finlay orders his associate to break Brookes. He nods his head in approval. Damo proceeds to shove his opponent at the ropes. On the rebound, The Calamari Catch King leaps up in the air to pull off a Jumping DDT out of nowhere. The #1 contender lands on his skull in a big way. The fans go nuts as Brookes manages to take his much larger opponent off of his feet. Damo stumbles back in to the turnbuckles to which Brookes charges forward and nails his finishing move; the Yakuza Kick. Damo tumbles down to the canvas. Chris Brookes desperately makes the cover. The referee counts however the big man kicks out with authority just after two. Uh-oh. Brookes looks over at Big Damo who looks furious. The brave babyface runs at his opponent but is floored with a Big Boot. The comeback is officially over. Damo is back in control and he refuses to let the momentum slip this time. He stomps in to Brookes in the corner until his opponent is lifeless. As Damo stares in to the camera, he yells 'this one is for you Gallagher' and applies the Cu Chullain's Wrath in the middle of the squared circle. His opponent is already done by this point. The Beast From Belfast yanks back on the hold with ruthless aggression still. The referee awards the match to Big Damo who releases the hold. His handler gets in to the ring to raise his arm in victory with the referee doing so on the other side. As the show looks to close, Damo looks down at Chris Brookes' broken body laid out on the canvas. He slowly approaches. It appears that he might want to inflict even more damage if possible. The senior official pleads with him not to however it is the sound of The C.C.K's music that diverts the attention of the #1 contender. Kid Lykos bravely sprints down the aisle towards the ring. Before hitting the ring, he hesitates before looking up at the monster that stands before him. The Dirty Wolf may only stand at 5 foot 5 and weigh in at 135lbs however he isn't willing to see his long-time tag partner take any more of a beating. Dave Finlay mouths 'you've gotta be kidding me' with a smug grin on his face. The 59-year old veteran tosses his jacket down, orders Damo back and claims that he can fight 'this little rat'. Lykos then slides in and through Finlay's legs before laying him out with a Step-Up Tornado DDT. He quickly sets up for the Spanish Fly out of the corner which would be a sight to behold. Damo has seen enough. He literally grabs the young, masked competitor up in to a Gorilla Press position and tosses him out in to the front row. The fans catch The Dirty Wolf and he crowd surfs over the crowd in attendance. He was thrown to the wolves by the monster but survived with a little help from the crowd who are chanting 'CCK, CCK, CCK' repeatedly. By this point, Chris Brookes has slowly escaped to the floor where his partner joins him. A tense face-off between the two sides continues as the show goes off the air. |

Lots going on in the opening bout for Reloaded. Cruz was lucky to escape with the W there. Rough way for Davis to lose. Have a feeling he’ll remember this going into the bull rope match later on. Good win for Ospreay though. Interesting decision by Regal to give C. Dunne an opportunity to rank in the tag division. Wondering how it will play out. Nice win for Edwards and Richards. So far Corvin and Bonesaw aren’t faring well after Finlay left them. Wondering if they’ll be able to recover. Gota to applaud Brookes’ effort in this one, however there was no way the big man would have been bested by him. Enjoyed the post-match happening by everyone. |
