-Showcase taping- Bo Dallas defeated a local competitor Dallas’ opponent was featured later on in the main show. Toni Storm def. Serena Moon w/Asrial Major Sami Zayn def. Brad Maddox to retain the Internet Championship The Action Zone opens up with a scene from earlier in the day where Eric Bischoff is speaking with Kana and her camp. Bischoff saw what went down in last week’s main event. He feels Kana is lucky to still have the championship belt in her possession, however we will see if her luck continues as she will face Charlotte. And to make sure there is a clear-cute winner he is barring everyone from ringside, and if the referee catches anyone interfering on Kana’s behalf, especially Sato or Phoenix then Kana will be immediately disqualified and Charlotte will be awarded the title. On top of that the match will be contested inside of a steel cage, and before he forgets, the referee guarding the door will be Trish Stratus. Bischoff made note of all that went down in last week’s match, and he did notice some interesting developments with Yoshiko’s involvement. Phoenix comments on that since it was brought up, telling Bischoff Yoshiko embarrassed with what is a dirty and very illegal move and she wants to get even. Bischoff agrees with that statement, and he’d like to grant that match, however Yoshiko fits the definition of being legally blind. However since Phoenix sounds eager top fight, she will be in action tonight against Skyler Raye. That’s fine with her, though it doesn’t sound fine to someone else as there’s some yelling off camera. The camera turns and Yoshiko is present, along with Oedo Tai members Serena Moon and Asrial Major. Yoshiko clearly can’t see, but she knows Phoenix is there. Moon and Major struggle to keep the more powerful Yoshiko back, while Sato tells Phoenix save it for later. Bischoff demands order from everyone, however Yoshiko breaks free and goes for Phoenix, but almost hits Bischoff instead. The two ladies regain control of Yoshiko and Bischoff tells them to get her out of here, and for Phoenix to leave as well. The show’s opening video package follows, and Miz TV goes live when the show continues. The Miz plugs tonight’s main event, which involves him, before touching on his guest tonight, which is Kenny Omega, a man who the Miz says who like himself needs no introduction. Omega has a copy of the match contract, which all but one term he agrees to, and that’s the payoff. Omega wants to get every penny that he deserves, as well as back pay, feeling he was underpaid during his last stint here. Omega reminds Miz that thinks between him and Jericho is personal, however if it’s happening at a pay per view Omega wants his fair share. Omega is confident that a deal will be reached. The Miz agrees that top tier talent deserves top dollar, which he can relate to. Omega answers his phone as the Miz continues, and after a short conversation Omega, which it doesn’t look like Miz got news he likes, confirms that the numbers on this contract are on second thought acceptable. Now if this were say Starcade he would be asking for a couple of more additional zeros at the end minimum, but he too can be generous and in the sprit of the season save the official some coin. He asks Miz for a pen and he signs it before telling Jericho to get his ass out here and sign as well. He doesn’t have to wait long, however extra officials come out as well, most likely to make sure order is maintained. Jericho finds the thought of Omega wanting more money laughable if it’s personal. He calls Omega the biggest mark of his own publicity, however he is glad Omega’s ego can look beyond that. Jericho mentions he too is in a giving mood tonight. He says that everyone in attendance tonight will receive a special limited edition Fozzy Christmas CD, which he guarantees will be perfect for anytime of year listening. Omega mentions he heard Jericho’s lately release, calling it the biggest flaming pile of dog crap he’s ever listened to in his life, which makes him unsure if Jericho’s more overrated in the ring or in the recording studio. They begin to trade insults, which Jericho’s has a little bit more humour in them, but Omega’s got a little bit more burn to them. Bischoff comes out, saying he’s heard enough. He tells Jericho to sign the contract so they can get on with the night’s show. Omega throws the contract at Jericho, which he catches and signs. The match for Season’s Beatings is now official. Oedo Tai is shown rallying behind Skyler Raye in the locker room area as she’s preparing to face Beth Phoenix later on. Yoshiko’s there as well, she’s no condition to even be at the arena, however the groups not one to abandon someone who Kana’s injured. Soon they are interrupted by Charlotte. Charlotte states she has no hostile intentions towards them, however she does as far as Kana’s concerned. Charlotte knows with the sanctions put in place Kana won’t have it easy, but she still has a feeling Kana may have a trick or two up her sleeve. She asks for Oedo Tai to watch her back tonight. She doesn’t like this any more than they do, but she has a feeling the they can all agree Kana needs to be taken down. The feeling is unanimous. Before she leaves she turns to Yoshiko and tells her that after she takes the title away from Kana, she’ll make sure just a little bit of Kana is left over for Yoshiko to finish off. Rusev w/Lana vs Harry Smith Shortly after the opening bell Rage came ringside and joined the announcers, claiming he’s here for a closer look at his Season’s Beatings opponent. Rage mentions he was willing to have the match with him and Rusev be simply business, but it is clear to the Supernova of Superstars that Rusev’s showed his true colours. That’s OK with Rage however, as Rage explains it was him who carried From Russia with Rage. Rage puts over Smith, admitting Smith has had his number in the past, but if their cross paths in the near year at Survival things will be different. Rage guarantees he will walk into the battle royal at number 30, then walk into Starcade’s main event, and walk out as the new heavyweight champion. As for the match currently in progress, Smith and Rusev are keeping up with each other. After being at the table for a few minutes Rage takes off the headset and pics up a mic. He cuts a mid-match promo on Rusev, which takes away Rusev’s focus. Rusev looks like he doesn’t want to wait until Season’s Beatings and wants Rage in the ring right now. Rage likes the sound of that, but there’s one problem with that, which Rusev’s pea-sided brain has overlooked. Before Rage can say what it is Smith scoops up Rusev and sets him up for the running powerslam. Rage finishes what he is staying, stating to Rusev that “the match is still going on stupid.” Smith connects with the powerslam and pins Rusev for the win. Rage tosses the mic back to the ring announcer and heads backstage. AJ Styles is shown leaving the locker room area. He’s set to face Damien Sandow with the winner to get a shot at Brian Kendrick and the Canadian National Championship. But before that the show takes its first break of the evening. Before things get to the match after that though, Team FIST is shown preparing for their encounter later tonight with the Hardys. Hutch Henries attempts to get comments from the group after knocking on the door, only for Icarus to slam it in his face. Emma Matthews is present in the room, but she looks banged up after dealing with Rob Rage last week. Damien Sandow vs AJ Styles The winner will face Brian Kendrick at Season’s Beatings for the Canadian National Championship. Sandow got the match for his role overseas. Originally he was suppose to face Jack Swagger to get to Styles, but Zeb Colter convinced Eric Bischoff to change plans a little bit. Sandow was prepared for Styles and fought a smart game, however Styles managed to escape Sandow’s silencer and trip him up. Styles managed to apply his calf slicer before Sandow could find his footing. Sandow attempted to reach the ropes, however he ended up tapping to the hold. Brian Kendrick’s shown backstage, having seen the outcome of the match. As announced earlier tonight Beth Phoenix will go one on one with Skyler Raye. Karen Sato gives Phoenix her marching orders for the match, and that’s to make sure Skyler Raye cannot leave on her own two feet. Phoenix mentions she doesn’t need to be told twice, she’s been wanting to see the same since she found out the match was made. Sato looks pleased to hear that. Kana’s not present in the room as she’s standing by with Hutch Henries, as well as Charlotte. Hutch thinks this interview might be one sided as her translator/manager Karen Sato isn’t here. Kana gestures for him to get on with it anyway. The two ladies will face off later tonight inside a steel cage. Hutch comments that Kana was lucky to escape with the gold last week, which the look on her face you can tell she feels that comment is a joke as far as she’s concerned. Charlotte tells Kana to get her laughing in while she still can, because once they get inside the cage she’s wipe the smirk of Kana’s face, and the rest of it against the unforgiving steel. When asked if she has any thoughts on Trish Stratus being the guest referee Charlotte mentions that it’s fine with her. Even though everything’s legal inside the cage, she knows Trish can handle anything Kana’s lackeys decided to pull. Hutch reminds Charlotte of the stipulation put in place by Bischoff that interference from either Sato or Phoenix will cost Kana the title if Trish catches them, but she has a feeling they may have a trick or two up their sleeve. Kana simply grins at Charlotte, though it looks like she is looking past Charlotte. Charlotte turns around, thinking someone is sneaking up on her. Nobody’s there. Charlotte turns back to face Kana and gets introduced to the championship belt as Kana drills Charlotte in the face with it. Kana kicks Charlotte a couple of times before leaving. Team FIST vs The Hardys Akuma and Icarus look to upset the Hardys and take the Hardys shot at the tag titles for themselves in this one. As the match progress Jim Cornette makes an appearance on the stage with his team, as does the pairing for Ryan Adams and Jared Perry and their new manager. It does feel a bit awkward for both teams to be out there at the same time, but their respective managers tell them to took their eyes on the ring. Don Callis notes this and mentions the competition in the tag division is still high, even with the end of From Russia with Rage. The longer the match goes the more it begins to favour the Hardys as the Hardys do a good job in keeping Icarus away from his corner. Icarus gets lucky and connects with a low shot out of desperation that looks like it struck Matt below the belt, but was missed by referring Eddington James. Akuma tags in and looks to make a comeback for his team, but Jeff is near his team’s corner and tags Matt. It’s an even exchange until Matt goes for the twist of fate. Akuma doesn’t want any of that and shoves Matt away, and into the direction of the official. Matt was able to stop in time. Akuma looked to take advantage of the situation and rolled up Matt, near fall. Following the kickout Akuma went for a lariat. Hardy dodged and Akuma had to slam on the breaks to avoid taking the ref’s head off with the move. Akuma turned around after making sure he did not strike the official, and turned right into a twist of fate. Matt with the pin, and the Hardys retain their title shot. The Miz is backstage with Hutch Henries, and the Miz is about to comment on his upcoming number one contender’s match when Nick Watts interrupts, saying this should be his interview time. James R. Kennedy agrees with Watt’s statement, however Zeb Colter doesn’t as he feels his client Jack Swagger should be the one who gets to speak about the upcoming elimination match. Swagger tells Hutch to ask any question he has, however Chuck Taylor snatches the mic from Hutch, saying none of them should be trusted with a live mic, especially The Miz, calling MizTV a poor-mans late night talk show. This fires Miz up. Various backstage officials are needed to keep order. The show fades to commercial with the wrestlers being separated. Kennedy attempts to take a cheap shot at Colter, which only adds to the madness. When the show returns Beth Phoenix is in the ring, having made her entrance during the break. Skyler Raye comes out alone, but she does appear to be intimidated when Phoenix displays her muscles. Skyler Raye vs Beth Phoenix w/ Karen Sato This one didn’t even last one minute as referee Justin Kronan disqualifies Phoenix for shoving him away from the corner when he called for a break when Phoenix was striking Raye repeatedly. The calling for the bell makes Phoenix’s job easier as it doesn’t matter what she does now. Sato enters the ring and gives directions, and to distract Skyler if she attempted to fight back, which happened only once. The beatdown continues until Sato directs Phoenix up top. Phoenix places Skyler on her shoulders before going up top to plant Skyler with a beath valley driver off the top. After that they turn to leave, but before they exit the ring Sato has an idea. She whispers to Phoenix what she has in mind, which Phoenix grins, liking what she heard. Phoenix pulls Skyler from the ring as Sato removes the padding on the outside floor. Skyler gets lifted up in front of the exposed concrete and is planted face first with a glam slam as Sato keeps the referee at bay. Before she can execute however, Kris Wolf, Asrial Major, and Serena Moon run out. Sato notices them coming and tells Phoenix that’s enough for now. Phoenix lets go of Skyler and she and Sato retreat for the time being. As Skyler’s being helped from the ringside area some footage from earlier in the afternoon is shown. Bret Hart is observing a tryout match that took place later in the day with a local area wrestler and Heath Slater. Things were kept simple until Slater pinned the new comer. The referee in the tryout match was also a new comer as well, and signed referee Chris Truax was nearby, and after the match ended he asked Bret if he could weigh in. From what Truax saw the kid’s counts appeared to be consistent, but he wants to see if the same is true if the pin happens suddenly. Hart’s down with that and tells them to go through a few moves and finish with a rollup. They go through it and it ends with the hopeful pinning Slater. The hopeful official asks how that looked, and Truax says he’s got no complaints. Truax is about to leave win he stops, almost forgetting one thing. He asks Bret if Slater’s shoulders looked down to him. Bret says that they were from what he could see. In that case Truax congratulates the local wrestler because he’s the new Ironman Champion. Slater can’t believe what he just heard. He argues with Bret about it, which Bret doesn’t see a problem with it. The guy gets the belt in his hands for a few seconds before Slater grabs him and floors him with a chartbuster. Slater pins him and he tells the referee on tryout to count. The counter’s made and Slater regains the belt. Slater grabs it and leaves the ring. As he leaves the area he can be heard saying “This is the last time I do anything for anyone.” This wouldn’t be the only moment both new comers would get camera time as their efforts here earned them a spot on the Showcase taping which involved a match with Bo Dallas. Elimination Match Chuck Taylor vs The Miz vs Nick Watts w/ James R. Kennedy vs Jack Swagger w/Zeb Colter Kennedy was a factor in the first elimination as he tripped up Swagger near the ropes and Taylor managed to connect with the awful waffle. The Miz stole the pin however and Swagger’s eliminated. Kennedy thought he got away with it, however Colter gave a parting show to Kennedy, turning him around and knocking him down. Nick Watts was engaging with the Miz and did not see the knockdown. Though not long after Swagger left the ring, Watts powered out to get some distance, which he then heard Kennedy complain about what happened. Watts followed Swagger and caught up to him on the stage. They traded blows as they disappeared behind the curtain. Taylor was doing his best to keep up with the pace Miz was trying to set, knowing this is a golden opportunity that’s not to be wasted. Taylor managed to get a nearfall after connecting with some sole food on Miz. Taylor picked up Miz and bodyslamed him near the corner. Taylor goes to the second rope and looks to go for a moonsault, but he then stops himself and tells the crowd go big or go home as he goes up top. If he went from the middle rope he might have connected with it, but going up top gave Miz time to recover and move out of the way. Miz takes advantage of Taylor’s miss and finishes him off with the skull crushing finale. Miz thinks he won following the pin, however Watts is back in the ring and sets Miz up for a ddt. Miz escapes and connects with the reality check. Miz with the pin on Watts, Miz wins. The Miz will challenge Wade Barrett for the heavyweight championship at Season’s Beatings. Momentum is on the challenger’s side as he takes to the corner and motions that the belt will be around his waste soon. As the Miz leaves a shot of the cage hanging above the ring is shown. Members of the ring crew come down and it begins to lower. The show takes its final tv timeout as they come out. When the show returns the ring crew is making sure the cage is good to go for the main event. While they’re checking things over footage from earlier in the day is shown involving Heath Slater, who confronts referee Chris Truax about attempting to rob him of the ironman title earlier on. This gives Brad Maddox the opportunity to sneak up on him and roll him up. Truax counts and Maddox wins the title. Zack Ryder and Big T are quick to jump on Maddox, and in a matter of seconds Ryder wins the belt. Slater takes Ryder out with a trash can, though he backs off as Big T targets him. Bo Dallas uses the opportunity to pin Ryder for the belt. Dallas gets thrown into a wall by Big T after taking too long to celebrate the win on the spot. Slater throws the trash can and it catches Big T. It doesn’t take him down, but it gets him away from Dallas long enough for Slater to pin him, grab the belt and run off. Big T checks on Ryder, and Heath Slater has had enough for today. Steel Cage Match Women’s Championship Kana vs Charlotte Trish Stratus comes out first, appointed by Eric Bischoff to be the referee for this one. Trish orders Karen Sato and Beth Phoenix back to the locker room, as Bischoff demanded a clear rinside area to start the match. Phoenix challenges Trish’s appointed authority and get in her face, but the official gets some backup in the form of Kris Wolf, Asrial Major, and Serena Moon. Phoenix does a decent job in fighting them off, however Act Yasukawa joins in, arriving a little bit late to the party, but she makes up for it and soon it’s four on one. Phoenix manages to get some distance and retreats up the runway. Trish convinces them to Phoenix go for now. The group returns backstage, and when they do Charlotte makes her entrance. It’s one on one, and Charlotte knows this is her chance for a clear shot at the title. From the opening bell she makes sure not to waste the opportunity that is before her, and with the referee on the outside she doesn’t have to ease up. Just because Kana doesn’t have anyone in her corner doesn’t mean she isn’t resourceful as she exposed one of the turnbuckles and introduced Charlotte’s face to it from a slingshot catapult position. Later in the bout Kana got a taste of her own medicine when Charlotte blocked an attempt by Kana to smash her face into it and Charlotte went for the eyes then smashed Kana’s face against the exposed turnbuckle. Jim Ross states that turnabout is fair play as Charlotte uses that to get back in the match. Charlotte gets fired up and launches Kana into each side of the cage. Charlotte looks to connect with something big as she places Kana on the top rope. Looks like she is going for a suplex. Kana holds on to the top rope to block it. They trade a couple of shots as they fight for control, however it’s Kana who wins that battle and she grabs hold of Charlotte and executes a sitout powerbomb off the top. The impact looks like it took some of Kana out as well. Kana’s back to her feet first, but she’s feeling the landing and it takes some time to shake it off enough to begin climbing the cage. That delay gave Charlotte some time to regain her senses and made a move for the door. It’s going to be a close one and Trish has a good position to see both Charlotte and Kana making their exits. Charlotte manages to pull herself through the door before Kana touches down, but Kana’s feet make contact with the ground before Charlotte’s, Kana retains her title. Kana gets championship belt from Trish and demands it to be put around her waist in addition to having her hand raised. Kana rubs it in to her Season’s Beatings opponent to have her hand raised again, wanting it done on each side of the ring. When they get to the fourth side Trish has had enough and after she raises it she grabs Kana and rams her head into the side of the cage. Don Callis doesn’t feel that’s how a referee should treat the women’s champion and Queen of the Ring. Jim Ross tells Callis to tell the former grand slam champion and hall of famer that as Trish heads backstage to close the show. |

- Glad at the outcome of the Styles/Sandow match. The upcoming Canadian National Championship match is sure to be a great one. - I thought Team FIST could have defeated The Hardys right at the end there but the tables turned and Matt and Jeff move on up the tag team ranks. - Huge win for The Miz considering his long losing streak beforehand. This would have headlined the show on any other night. - Kana/Charlotte was a decent match however obviously served its purpose to build towards the champ's match with Trish Stratus at Season's Beatings. |
