RELOADED MATCH #1: Iestyn Rees defeated Dave Mastiff via pinfall with a Sitout Side Slam. The two big men shook hands once the match had ended in a great show of respect before The Bastard From The Black Country left the winner to celebrate in the ring. RELOADED MATCH #2: Jinny Couture defeated Pollyanna Peppers via pinfall when she countered the Vertebreaker, rolled her opponent up in to a School Girl and then placed her feet on the middle rope for extra leverage. The Fashionista fled the ring afterwards. RELOADED MATCH #3: Muscle, Steel & Sex Appeal defeated The C.C.K via pinfall when they nailed Chris Brookes with the Terminal Velocity. They attempt a repeat of last week's post-match beat down however Moustache Mountain rushed down to make the save. EPW Live #79 After Reloaded comes to a close, Live opens with a video recap of last week showing Pete Dunne returning to singles action with a convincing victory and then getting in the face of commissioner William Regal at ringside after the bell. We also saw Mark Haskins savagely beat down Sabu, Martin Stone beat Joseph Conners, Strangler Davis challenge Will Ospreay to a match, Dahlia Black proved herself as a threat to Kay Lee Ray's title with a win over former champion Nixon Newell and The Anti-Fun Police came out victorious in non-title action. Tonight's episode takes place in front of a packed out house in Luton. Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and Joe Hendry are on hand to welcome the viewing audience at home and run down the scheduled card which includes Jimmy Havoc teaming with Sabu to battle Mark Haskins and a partner of his choosing, TK Cooper vs. Noam Dar with their girlfriends in their respective corners, The Glaswegian Assembly look to add yet another win to their flawless record when they face the new team of Joseph Conners and BT Gunn and Big Damo has demanded a warm-up match ahead of his title defence next week. His opponent is yet to be revealed. Before Jim Smallman enters to begin the ring introductions for the opening contest, a familiar tune hits which pops the crowd. Alex Shane shocks everyone with his first appearance in months. The retired British wrestling pioneer takes in the positive reaction from the sold-out crowd from the stage before marching down the aisle. Smallman hands him a microphone as he steps through the ropes. The Showstealer addresses the crowd with his age-old catchphrase; 'DO NOT FEAR BECAUSE THE SHOWSTEALER IS HERE!' The fans lap it up. He begins to talk about the rise of Martin Stone in recent weeks and reminds us of the many battles they had years ago in EPW over championship gold. They fought in singles matches, a Submission Match, a Last Man Standing Match and even a Steel Cage Match. They may have been bitter enemies years ago however Alex Shane now considers him a friend after all they have been through. As a friend, he begs Stone to really consider what he's walking in to next week when he faces Big Damo. He calls The Beast From Belfast the most dominant monster we've ever witnessed on British shores. The mood turns sour when 'Beast' by Neil McDougall blares over the speaker to signify the arrival of our champ. The big man stomps down the aisle towards the ring. Once he enters the squared circle, he circles Alex Shane and then snatches the microphone out of his hand. Damo simply informs The Showstealer that he intends on not just ending the career of Martin Stone next week, he also intends on taking his life. He then warns him that if he doesn't leave 'his' ring now, he will do exactly that to him now. Alex isn't here to be brave. His wrestling days are way behind him so he goes to leave. As he steps through the ropes, the champ drags him back in to launch him across the ring with a German Suplex. The beat down continues with several stomps in the corner. The man beast then drags the legend in to the middle and locks on the Cu Chullain's Wrath. He pulls back on the neck with force back and forth. Alex Shane yells out for help. Eventually we see security, officials and even a couple of the babyfaces jog down to pull him off. They think they have him separated however Damo charges forward once again and lands on him with a Running Senton to add salt to the wounds. He then mounts The Showstealer and reigns down with punch after punch to the skull. The veteran begins to bleed from the forehead before the champion is satisfied. The attacker slowly backs away from his victim having done some critical damage. You can't help but think this is a direct message to the #1 contender who is yet to arrive. Jimmy Havoc & Sabu vs. Mark Haskins (with Vicky Haskins) & ??? The Homicidal, Suicidal, Genocidal, Death Defying Maniac has recently surfaced in English Pro Wrestling and it became clear that Mark Haskins was absolutely disgusted by the brand of wrestling he brought with him. Jimmy Havoc is also a proponent of that particular style. The King of the Goths has done his utmost to ensure his hero gets the respect he deserves in the company however failed to do so last week when Sabu fell victim to The Hellbent Anti-Hero's Low Sharpshooter before being waffled in the back of the head with a steel chair by Vicky Haskins. Next week it will be Havoc and Haskins go one-on-one. Revenge waits for no man though and tonight we will see a preview of what's to come in a tag team match. Jimmy enters with Sabu by his side while the fans sing along to the chorus of AFI - I Hope You Suffer. Haskins then slowly saunters out on to the stage with his wife by his side but no partner. He does have a microphone in hand though. As the crowd boo over his every word, he explains that he has managed to find a man that was forced to wrestle the hardcore death match style for many years when in fact he is a tremendous wrestler in his own right. Haskins informs Sabu that will knows him very well. The antagonist then welcomes out his partner; 'The War Machine' Rhyno. The two men in the ring look shocked. Rhyno stomps out on to the stage before beating his chest and raising his arms in the air to a mixed response. The man beast is passed the mic by his new ally. He claims for years to have been held down by the shackles of being 'extreme' when he had the potential to be a real 'wrestling superstar'. Whilst Mark Haskins nods in approval, Rhyno continues by saying that he intends on righting the wrongs of the past 20 years of his career. He tosses down the microphone. The heels head to the ring as Havoc talks tactics at the mute Sabu. The match is pretty even throughout. In the end, Haskins gets way too big for his boots when trying to order his partner around. He tastes the Gore for his troubles. The War Machine walks out on him whilst Sabu executes the Springboard Leg Drop to the back of the head for a three count victory. The winner celebrate their victory on the turnbuckles. The Hellbent Anti-Hero is forced to watch as he is helped to the backstage area by Vicky Haskins. Havoc respectfully lets his idol take the ring for what could signify his final appearance with the company. Martin Stone has arrived late to the venue. As he walks in to the parking lot, he can see an ambulance. He approaches and soon sees Alex Shane being helped in by medics. The #1 contender doesn't even need to ask who's responsible. The Guvnor demands to know where the champion's locker room is because he wants to settle this right now. People around him tell Stone this isn't a good idea. Out of nowhere he is blind sided from behind by Big Damo. He wanted the fight and the fight came to him. The brawl is one sided with the Irish heavyweight throwing his arch-enemy around like a rag doll. The Beast From Belfast grabs him by the head and repeatedly hammers his head in to a nearby brick wall. The veteran appears groggy and can barely stand. He eventually lifts him up on to his shoulder before launching him in to the side of the ambulance like a lawn dart. Stone hit the metal face first with a giant thud. Big Damo has caused absolute mayhem already and he hasn't even competed in the ring yet. Noam Dar (with Kay Lee Ray) vs. TK Cooper (with Dahlia Black) The beef between these two men stems from the newfound rivalry between their girlfriends which has led to them going one-on-one tonight. Kay Lee Ray defends her EPW British Women's Championship against Dahlia Black next week. The South Pacific Power Couple are given a warm welcome by the crowd in Luton tonight and TK Cooper is looking to add another win to his record after scoring a win over BT Gunn a couple of weeks ago. Noam Dar should be a tougher opponent though. The Scottish Supernova is accompanied by his partner-in-crime and girlfriend; Kay Lee Ray. The two trade holds in the opening minute. The pace gets faster as the match rolls on. Noam Dar gets the first two count with a Running European Uppercut to his cornered opponent. Eventually TK makes a comeback and send The Scottish Supernova to the outside with a Dropkick followed by the Loverdose Corkscrew to the outside. With the momentum on his side, he attempts a 450 Splash from the ropes. Dar moves out of the way. He then turns the tables with a Fisherman's Buster for another near fall. The two former EPW British Tag Team Champions trade strikes in the ring but it is Cooper who comes out best when he delivers a Step-Up Enzuiguri. Once his opponent finds his feet, he manages to drill him with the Scissors Kick. He hooks the leg. The referee counts three. TK Cooper picks up another victory. As his arm is raised, Dahlia Black joins him in the ring. Kay Lee Ray is quick to slide in as well but not to check on the condition of her man. The EPW British Women's Champion tries to attack the #1 contender. Dahlia Black spots her coming and stands up to her. They go face-to-face in the middle in a tense stare down. The champ holds up her gold however Dahlia once again warns her that she'll be taking home the belt next week. Their respective boyfriends eventually separate the two. There will be none of that next week though when they go one-on-one. Strangler Davis is sat in his locker room sipping on a bottle of beer. Some might even say he looks slightly tipsy. The EPW British Hardcore Champion picks up a nearby phone puts it on loudspeaker and dials in some numbers that he is ready off a sheet. A woman picks up who he soon refers to as the mother of Will Ospreay; Mrs. Ospreay. The brawler cruelly tells her that he has a message that he wants her to give to a son. As she pleads for him to stop harassing them, he informs her that he and her son's title match next week will be a Dumpster Match. Davis tells her he has even scored their family front row seats so that they can witness their brave little boy's final match. Suddenly, a male voice pipes up which we soon realise is Will himself. The Aerial Assassin claims that a Dumpster Match is pretty fitting because he intends on taking out the trash. He finally tells the champ to enjoy his beer and to keep that title warm for him. The line goes dead. Strangler launches the phone across the room in anger. A company first takes place next week in the form of a Dumpster Match for the EPW British Hardcore Championship when Will Ospreay returns to his home town to challenge Strangler Davis. The Glaswegian Assembly vs. Joseph Conners & BT Gunn The dangerous pairing of The Righteous Killer and The Oddity are an interesting prospect. Both are tenacious competitors in their own right however have yet to gain any recent success in singles competition. Maybe their luck will change as a united force? This certainly is the case for their opponents. Joe Coffey and Wolfgang formed The Glaswegian Assembly just a few weeks ago and have been kicking ass and taking names ever since. They have to be the hottest property in the tag team division right now. They are also desperate for a title shot. The Scottish heavyweights dominate this contest with ease. Joseph Conners is tossed around the ring with BT Gunn reluctant to make the tag. The Iron Man launches him over his head with a German Suplex before applying a Boston Crab. The Nottingham based technician finds the ropes but is still on the defence as Wolfgang is tagged in. The Regulator nails him with punch after punch in the corner. He then delivers the Wasteland before climbing up to the second rope for a Moonsault. The Scot dives. Conners gets his knees up and quickly dashes over to tag in his partner. BT Gunn charges in. The Oddity stomps down on his grounded opponent before charging forward for a Superkick. Wolfgang catches the boot. Whilst still holding on, he tags in Coffey who wipes out Gunn with a Springboard Clothesline. The Iron Man beats on his chest and Joseph Conners is done. The Righteous Killer drops off the apron. He continues down the aisle and leaves his partner to suffer the consequences. In the meantime, Joe Coffey spins BT Gunn around with the Big Swing. He then follows up with the Discus Lariat for the three count. Their arms are raised and Mauro Ranallo questions who in the hell could stand in the way of these two and a title match. The Anti-Fun Police then appear on the titantron. The arena fills with boos as Chief Deputy Dunne informs The Glaswegian Assembly that the fun stops now. They will not be caving in to the pressure of the moronic EPW fans and refuse to give Coffey and Wolfgang a title shot. Meanwhile, Wolfgang has grabbed a microphone. He tells Dunne and Smile that they've already gone to William Regal. The commissioner said on the condition that they won tonight, they would be the #1 contenders to the belts and they would challenge at EPW Live #80: The Only Way Is Essex. The champs' faces drop. These two big Scotsmen will be facing them next week for their newly won gold and there's not a damn thing they can do about it. As we return, Travis Banks has entered. The Kiwi Buzzsaw isn't out here to wrestle. He has requested some time to talk to the crowd. The New Zealand native knows he hit the jackpot when he won the Battle For The Briefcase but whether people want to call him a worthy challenger or not, he earned the title shot and he doesn't intend on being just another challenger. He explains that he took a huge risk by coming to the United Kingdom. When he was in New Zealand, he was a big fish in a small pond. There was virtually no wrestling scene in his country. He had to pretty much train himself. He was a tiny fish in an ocean when he arrived in English Pro Wrestling though. Travis has had to work hard to prove his worth in the company but his hard work seems to have finally paid off. The fans approve with a 'YOU DESERVE IT' chant. He smiles but is soon interrupted by the sound of 'Bruiserweight' by CFO$. Pete Dunne stomps down to the ring with an evil grin on his face. The cerebral antagonist reminds us that he was the first winner of the Battle For The Briefcase last year. He cashed in that gold and became the longest reigning champion in company history. There was no stopping him. He was a history maker but he doesn't believe that Banks can do what he did. Dunne tells The Kiwi Buzzsaw that he doesn't have the killer instinct to become a champion before declaring that the briefcase is wasted on him. The fans disagree. They boo Pete Dunne's statement. It doesn't phase the Birmingham born grappler as he challenges the Battle For The Briefcase holder to put his title shot on the line. He fires back immediately by telling Dunne that he isn't scared of him or any challenge. The two are now face-to-face. Is this situation about to explode? 'Regality' by Jim Johnston blares across the speakers and out walks William Regal. The commissioner tells the two men to stop this right now. Travis Banks will not be putting his briefcase on the line against Pete Dunne under any circumstances. Long gone are the days where The Bruiserweight is going to manipulate himself in to situations to leverage his way up the card. He yells out in frustration and throws a Forearm at Travis Banks. The Kiwi Buzzsaw responds with a Roundhouse Kick to the head. Dunne bounces off the ropes before being nailed with his rival's finisher; the Spinning Torture Rack Slam. The fans chant the name of the Battle For The Briefcase holder as he stands tall in the ring. He soon leaves the ring whilst a groggy Pete Dunne finds his feet. Non-Title Match Big Damo vs. ??? The champion is a very angry man who let out that frustration earlier tonight with attacks on both Alex Shane and Martin Stone. The two former champions are currently nursing their injuries in a nearby medical facility however Stone needs to hope his injuries are minor because he has a title shot on next week's show. Big Damo looks eager to learn the identity of his opponent after entering the ring. 'One True Villain' by Hot Tag Media Works is heard and the fans go wild. Marty Scurll walks out on to the stage with a grin on his face. The Villain is a former champion himself. We are reminded by Nigel McGuinness that Scurll once beat Damo in a championship match way back at EPW Live #20: Shortcut To Hell. With the title around the opposite waist, will the result be different this time around? It certainly looks to be going that way in the early stages. The Beast From Belfast launches his much smaller opponent around the ring. Marty falls victim to a Forward Fireman's Carry Slam, an Elbow Drop, a Powerbomb and a Running Senton. The 300lbs+ monster lines up for a Corner Slingshot Splash. The ex-champion manages to roll away. He then turns the tables with a Rope-Assisted Enzuiguri and quickly runs up to the top rope. The Villain delivers a Front Missile Dropkick but still can't send his opponent down. He soon takes a different tactic by grabbing Damo's hand and snapping each finger repeatedly. The Irish heavyweight tries to pull it back with a Clothesline. Marty ducks and finally floors him with a Tornado DDT. The fans chant 'CHICKEN WING' as the Cambridge based grappler awaits his opponent to find his footing. He applies the hold and looks to drag the big man down to the canvas. Damo is too strong though. He throws him off and then takes his head off with a Running Big Boot. The champ follows up with a Lifting Inverted DDT to shift the momentum in his favour once again. The mood turns sour as he takes control once again. He has the Cu Chullain's Wrath in mind. As he sets up for the submission, 'London Boys' by Richard Myhill blasts over the speakers. Damo releases the hold with his eyes open wide. Martin Stone storms through the curtain with a bloody bandage hanging from his head and he looks up for a fight. Next week's main event could be coming early. The Guvnor goes to step in to the ring but the referee keeps him out. The Beast From Belfast approaches his arch-enemy. Marty Scurll catches him with a Low Blow though and rolls him up in to a School Boy. The referee counts three. The big man has been beaten. The champion has been defeated. Marty Scurll has his arm raised however doesn't hang around. He leaves the ring as the angry monster finds his feet. In the mean time, Martin Stone slowly swans off up the aisle with a grin on his face. The veteran will be looking to take back his manor next week when he challenges Big Damo for the EPW British Undisputed Championship. Edited by UK-Joe, Jan 11 2018, 08:21 PM.

Nice to see Rees recover from his loss against Dunne with a win here. Rough way for Peppers to get beat. Hopefully she'll get Couture next time. Excellent choice of partner by Haskins, sadly it didn't work out as well as he would have hoped. That's a different way of setting up a dumpster match, but Ospreay's words were fitting. Damo got screwed tonight...at least the belt wasn't on the line, otherwise there would be even more hell to pay from the hands of the champion. |
