RELOADED MATCH #1: The Glaswegian Assembly defeated The Singh Brothers via pinfall after Joe Coffey blasted Samir Singh with the Discus Lariat and Wolfgang followed up with the Howling for the three count victory. RELOADED MATCH #2: BT Gunn defeated Fabian Aichner via pinfall with the Gunshot. The Oddity grabbed a microphone once the bout had come to it's conclusion and stated that he has his eye on the EPW British Hardcore Championship. RELOADED MATCH #3: Timothy Thatcher defeated El Ligero via submission with the Thatcher Stretch. The latest import to arrive in English Pro Wrestling is the third member of the Ringkampf stable to wrestle with the company. EPW Live #82 Once Reloaded comes to an end, this week's episode of Live begins with a video recap of last week showing Rampage Brown winning a Battle Royal to win the vacant EPW British Hardcore Championship. We also saw Martin Stone address the crowd for one final time, Marty Scurll & Will Ospreay defeat Pete Dunne & Mark Haskins in tag team action however it was The Bruiserweight who stood tall in the ring afterwards, the mild-mannered backstage RJ Singh fire off at TK Cooper, EPW British Women's Champion Dahlia Black beat former champion Kay Lee Ray once again before being attacked by long-term rival Jinny Couture and Travis Banks scored a victory over one half of the reigning EPW British Tag Team Champions Ryan Smile. The tour of London rolls on as we head over to The Coronet Theatre for tonight's show. Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and Joe Hendry are on hand to welcome the viewing audience and run down the main card; The Alpha Bastards settle their rivalry with The Grizzled Young Veterans, TK Cooper battles the returning RJ Singh who hasn't competed in well over a year, Rampage Brown defends his EPW British Hardcore Championship and our main event; 'The Villain' Marty Scurll vs. 'The Kiwi Buzzsaw' Travis Banks. 'Elevated' by It Lives, It Breaths blares across the venue to cheers from the fans. Will Ospreay emerges from the back to a roar and walks down the aisle. The Aerial Assassin requests a microphone after stepping through the ropes. He isn't going to waste any time and immediately makes it known that he wants Pete Dunne one-on-one in the ring tonight. The Bruiserweight has knocked him about for weeks now. It is time for their issues to be settled. The Essex raised high-flyer tells Dunne that if it's a fight he wanted, then there is one right here waiting for him. 'Regality' by Jim Johnston plays to a decent response. Out walks the man that can make this match happen. As much as he would like to make this match, he unfortunately cannot. Ospreay wants an explanation. William Regal reveals that Pete Dunne cannot be here tonight due to travel issues which doesn't satisfy anybody. The commission however is willing to give Will Ospreay what he wants at EPW Live #85: London Brawling. The Aerial Assassin doesn't want to wait however changes his mind when Regal promises him a No Holds Barred Match if he does. He tells Ospreay he can do what he likes to Dunne. The two must avoid physical contact though otherwise the match is cancelled. The fan favourite accepts with a smile and the match is made. The Grizzled Young Veterans vs. The Alpha Bastards As the heel team make their way down to the ring, they receive the nuclear heat they should expect by now. Zack Gibson is in possession of the microphone and reminds us that he is Liverpool's Number One, soon to be recognised as English Pro Wrestling's number one and soon to be recognised as the world's number one. The man that stands behind him is James Drake who he calls the most ruthless, driven associate a man could have. He claims that they will beat the fat bastard and the bodybuilder wannabe within an inch of their lives. The mood switches when Dave Mastiff and Iestyn Rees stomp down to the ring with serious business on their mind. This is The Alpha Bastards' first outing as a tag team so they will be looking to make an impact. They do exactly that from the off-set with a dominant display. Mastiff and Rees use their power to take control and it doesn't matter how many times their opponents tag in and out, they find themselves at the brunt of offence. The Alpha Male drives Mr. Mayhem in to the top turnbuckle from his shoulders, nails him with an Atomic Drop and then pulls off a Gutwrench Powerbomb. The Bastard From The Black Country then executes a Big Splash for the first near fall. The 300lbs+ monster locks on a nerve hold however is eventually caught off guard with a poke to the eye. James Drake pulls off Running Bulldog. He gets the cover. Mastiff kicks out with authority at one so Drake quickly tags out. Gibson reluctantly runs in with several rights and lefts to his opponent. The big man responds with a Sidewalk Slam followed by a Running Seated Senton. The newest team on the block then finish him off with the Double Spinebuster in the middle of the ring. Whilst Iestyn knocks Drake off the apron, Mastiff hooks the leg. The referee counts three. The Alpha Bastards enter the tag ranks in dominant fashion. Dave Mastiff demands a microphone from ringside before they can even have their arms raised. He barks a challenge back at the locker room to dare anybody to come out and challenge them otherwise they will be jumping the queue to challenge for the EPW British Tag Team Championships. As they look round at the cheering fans, The Glaswegian Assembly walk out on to the stage. They are another popular pair of heavyweights who lost out controversially to The Anti-Fun Police two weeks ago. Joe Coffey reminds us that they were screwed out of their chance to become champions and they don't intend on taking that loss lying down. The Scottish big men tell the team in the ring that they will have to get through them if they want a title match. It looks like we have ourselves two imposing duos who have their eye on gold. Kay Lee Ray is backstage where she is looking at a bouquet of flowers. The former champion is then approached by Noam Dar who informs her that the flowers are from him. The Scottish Supernova begs for his ex-girlfriend's forgiveness however she hasn't forgiven him for not helping her in her title loss to Dahlia Black. She claims they had an agreement. He won't stop begging for her to take him back though and she grows tired of his pleas. The Killer tells him that he has to get her something she really really wants and she may think about taking him back. Dar asks if it's chocolates. She shakes her head. He brings up a holiday but she still isn't convinced. Kay Lee Ray asks if she has to spell it out for him before telling him that he needs to get the EPW British Women's Championship back around her waist. The ex-champ walks off whilst he scratches his head in deep thought. TK Cooper vs. RJ Singh This match stems from a backstage interview conducted from the usually mild-mannered interviewer when he told the wrestler exactly what he thought of him. RJ Singh declared that his guest was inferior to his associates in The South Pacific Power Trip and then informed everyone that he intends on returning to in-ring competition. The Bollywood Dream enters in his full robe that he used to enter with back when he wrestled before. Mauro Ranallo informs us that he has signed a full-time wrestling contract. He cuts a promo before the bout re-introducing himself and claims that he will prove everybody wrong who had written him off. TK Cooper has the fans behind him. He enters the ring to cheers but RJ Singh wastes no time attacking his opponent before the bell. Singh reigns down on Cooper with several stomps before dragging him up for a Snap Suplex, Elbow Drop and then applies a Camel Clutch in quick succession. It appears that RJ means business. TK soon powers out and nails The Bollywood Dream with an Electric Chair Drop. As Singh escapes the ring, Cooper quickly leaps over the ropes to pull off the Loverdose Corkscrew. The crowd lap it up. He gets a pinfall back in the squared circle. Kick out at two. TK rolls with the momentum and executes a Running Clothesline, a Leg Lariat and a Running Neckbreaker. He then runs the ropes with the Scissors Kick in mind. His opponent avoids it and rolls him up in to a School Boy for two. When the two get up, they trade forearms. The New Zealand gets the best of his adversary so pulls off a Northern Lights Suplex for a near fall. Cooper climbs up the turnbuckles with a 450 Splash in mind. This could have finished things off but RJ Singh pushes the referee in to the ropes which in turn sends his opponent crashing back down to the mat. With the officially momentarily thrown off guard, The Bollywood Dream pulls off a Low Blow and executes the Cobra Clutch Slam. He makes the cover. The three count is made. RJ Singh makes a successful return to the ring with a win. He quickly escapes as his music plays. TK Cooper can't quite believe what has just gone down. As he yells at his cheating opponent, RJ yells back 'SINGH IS KING!' This situation looks far from done. William Regal is sorting things out in his office when Nixon Newell barges in without knocking. The commissioner sarcastically thanks her for knocking but she begins to rant about not being treated with respect. The Welsh Destroyer reminds the boss that she was the inaugural EPW British Women's Champion of the modern era. She won a tournament and she made history. Newell asks Regal why people haven't acknowledged her achievements since she lost her belt. The commissioner tells her that her attitude has changed a hell of a lot since the days of the young Welsh girl-next-door came skipping through the curtain with all the potential in the world. He thinks she has a chip on her shoulder now and it's weighing her down. Nixon won't take the criticism though. She claims what is weighing her down is the biased management but tells Regal that if it's the old Nixon Newell he wants to see, then he will. Regal looks confused when she storms out. Could we see the former champ become sweet and innocent once again or are these empty words? EPW British Hardcore Championship Rampage Brown (c) vs. Chief Deputy Dunne (with Ryan Smile) Last week we saw the powerhouse from Leeds returned to action and was crowned the new EPW British Hardcore Champion by winning a 10-Man Hardcore Battle Royal. One of the men he eliminated without a problem was his opponent tonight. Rampage Brown stomps down the aisle with his new title proudly strapped around his waist. He sure is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the hardcore division. Chief Deputy Dunne looks fairly confident with Ryan Smile accompanying him down to the ring. The leader of The Anti-Fun Police looks to add another title to his collection. He already is in possession of an EPW British Tag Team Championship. This don't look good for him early on though. Rampage launches him about like a rag doll around the ring and he is forced to endure some nasty knife-edge chops in the corner. The heavyweight then charges at him for a Running Corner Splash. As he reaches the corner, Ryan Smile pushes his partner to safety and then throws him his mega-phone. Dunne then clatters his opponent around the skull which takes the champion down to his knees. He then blasts him with it again and mounts him for some stiff right hands. The fans boo as Dunne steps up to shout his signature phrase; 'NO FUNAAAAH!' Unbeknownst to him, Rampage stands right up behind him. The big man then takes his head off with a Clothesline before grabbing a steel chair from ringside. He swings. Smile jumps on his back to stop him striking his partner. Brown shrugs him off and then blasts him with the steel chair. By the time he can turn back round to his opponent, Dunne has rushed out to get a weapon of his own. He grabs a kendo stick to return to the ring with. The leader of The Anti-Fun Police desperately swings it at the champ but it is caught. Rampage shoves him away and nails him in the skull with the steel chair. He could finish it here. The powerhouse still wants to inflict more pain though. The champion grabs Ryan Smile, places him on the ropes and soon joins him on the second rope. The Superintendent is then drilled in to the mat with the Piledriver. No mercy shown by Rampage Brown. The heavyweight turns his attention back to his opponent. He folds out the steel chair in the middle of the ring and pulls Dunne up to his feet. The Master of the Piledriver has his position. He powers him up for the finishing move; the Leaping Piledriver. The challenger's head crashes through the chair. He is pinned. The referee count three. Rampage Brown retains his EPW British Hardcore Championship in dominant fashion. His arm is raised and he is handed his belt by the official. The London crowd have lapped up everything he gave. As he walks to the backstage area, they chant his name and he raises the gold up over his head when he reaches the stage. The fans break out in to boos when Keri Hilson - Turn My Swag On blares across the speakers. Jinny Couture walks out through the curtain with a scowl over her face as she looks across the fans. Joe Hendry is on commentary and claims we are not worthy to be in her presence. She would probably agree with such a such a statement and steps through the ropes sporting the same facial express. The Resident Fashionista snatches the microphone from Jim Smallman. He isn't showing any signs of resistance. Jinny barks for some attention at this time which only riles the crowd up even more. We are reminded of her Best Of Five Series with Dahlia Black and how the eventual winner went on to win the EPW British Women's Championship. Couture thinks it should have been her before claiming that if Dahlia dared to put her gold on the line against her, she would prove that she is nothing more than a transitional champion. That scowl is seen again when 'Keep It 100' by Grandtheft and Keys & Krates is heard. Dahlia Black makes a beeline for the ring however security catch up with her. As she slides in to the ring, they get between the two to make sure things don't get physical. The champion has already beaten Jinny and she sure as hell lets her know it. She is fine to defend her belt against anywhere, any time and in any type of match. Black then dares Couture to bring it. The challenger tells her that the place and time will be two weeks down the road at The O2 Arena for EPW Live #85: London Brawling. The match type will be 2 Out Of 3 Falls because The Resident Fashionista wants to ensure that if Dahlia does sneak a pinfall on her then she can immediately make her pay for it. It is on! The security do a good job of making sure the two do not get physical as the segment comes to a close. Marty Scurll vs. Travis Banks The Kiwi Buzzsaw is the first to make his way down the aisle. The fans seem to be getting behind more and more as the weeks go on. Since winning the briefcase for the guaranteed title shot, he appears to be winning matches every week too. Travis Banks could be a real threat to the champion. His opponent is The Villain. Marty Scurll has also found himself in contention for the EPW British Undisputed Championship with the promise of a title match on the condition his winning streak continues. Tonight could pose a real challenge though. The chain wrestling at the start proves immaculate. Both men are technically fine and they go back and forth on the mat. They eventually rise to their feet but they are still trading holds. Marty manages to lock on an Octopus Hold which is countered in to a Kimura Lock. As the move is applied, Scurll hoists his foot around the bottom rope and breaks the submission. Things go up a gear when they begin to trade strikes. They begin with chops. Then it is forearms. Then it is kicks. Banks then blasts his opponent with a Headbutt and then follows up with a Spinning Backfist. The Villain flies back in to the turnbuckles where The Kiwi Buzzsaw charges at him to nail a Running Cannonball. He keeps the pace fast when he immediately drags him up to execute the Kiwi Crusher for an early near fall. The fans are on their feet. Travis Banks is in control and wades in on Marty Scurll with some stomps in the corner. He charges forward for a Running Boot in to the corner but The Villain rolls to safety. The former champion then turns the tables with a Rope-Assisted Enzuiguri. With Banks staggering all over the place, he drops him with a Falcon Arrow for a two count. The New Zealand warrior is forced to endure a Running European Uppercut in the corner, a Brainbuster on to the knee and a Rolling Release Suplex. He still manages a kick out though. Scurll is now lining up for the Crossface Chickenwing. As he approaches, he is suddenly wiped out by Mark Haskins who clocks him around the skull with a Forearm Smash. He throws Marty out to ringside where he drops with a thud. The official calls this a DQ win for Marty Scurll. Vicky Haskins is watching with a grin on her face. In the mean time, The Hellbent Anti-Hero turns his attention to Travis Banks who he nails with a Discus Forearm. He then order his wife pass him The Kiwi Buzzsaw's briefcase which she does and he blasts it across his victim's head. Marty Scurll runs back in with the attacker in sight. He isn't happy at the outcome. The Villain won on a technicality but arguably he had it in the bag. A smug Mark Haskins walks to the back with no remorse for his actions. KLR must be really kinky in the sack if Dar wants her back that badly when she spelt it out that she's literally a gold digger. Cut your losses and move on, kid. I can't recall the last time RJ had a match, he's been an interviewer for so long thought he always was one. Had to go back and look at interview spot last show (missed it first time around). Good to see his return match was a successful one, things might have looked pretty awkward if the opposite went down. Rampage's comeback has been a successful one so far, good to see (though when ever I see the name 'Rampage Brown' I kept getting reminded of Bad News Brown for some reason). |
