EPW Live #103

The broadcast opens with a video recap of last week's episode showing Big Damo, Sha Samuels, Drew Galloway and the debuting Nick Aldis advancing to the next round of the Atlas Division Tournament. We also saw the current #1 contender Nathan Cruz defeat Jack Gallagher in singles action, The Sanguinary earned themselves a future title shot by beating The C.C.K & Zack Sabre Jr. in a Six Man Tag Team Match and Sweet Saraya revealed herself as the new general manager of the women's division. The company continues its tour of the United Kingdom as we roll in to Ireland. We come to you live from the 3 Arena. Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness are on hand to welcome the viewing audience at home to tonight's show. The next round of the Atlas Division and Junior Division tournaments go down as well as a 4 Corners Match to determine the next challenger to Viper's EPW British Women's Championship and The Sanguinary compete in tag team action to open the show. Jim Smallman enters the ring to welcome down the wrestlers for the opening contest.

The Sanguinary (with Vicky Haskins & Bram) vs. Sho & Yoh

BACKGROUND: Mark Haskins and Jimmy Havoc earned themselves a shot at The C.C.K in two week's time on last week's show with a six man tag team victory however tonight they battle against international contenders in a warm up match. Vicky Haskins and Bram are in their corner for the duration of the contest and the crowd are on their back as they make their way down to the ring. Sho & Yoh are one of the hottest young teams in Japan right now. Known for their high flying style, the imports have arrived on an international excursion to hone their craft here in English Pro Wrestling for the short term. The excitement of a fresh new team in the division along with the crowd's opinion of their adversaries gets them immediate support from the fans in attendance.

- Sho and Yoh put on an impressive display in the opening stages which riles up their opponents. They execute a Double DDT early on for a two count.
- The Sanguinary eventually cut off the imports when Haskins takes out Yoh with a Running Chop Block and they begin to isolate him in the corner.
- Haskins and Havoc control the match but cannot put Sho away who kicks out of a Spinning Facebuster, a Death Valley Driver and a Roaring Elbow.
- Jimmy Havoc attempts the Acid Rainmaker. Sho ducks and gets the hot tag. Yoh charges in with a Dropkick, a Japanese Arm Drag and a Powerslam.
- The babyfaces capitalise on the advantage to take control. Yoh locks on a Single Leg Boston Crab but Havoc slowly struggles to the ropes for the break.
- Mark Haskins tries to pull the match back for his team. He finds himself the recipient of a Bridging German Suplex courtesy of Sho for the near fall.
- The crowd really get behind this new team after they forge a brave comeback. They both drill Haskins with a Superkick each for another close two.

FINISH: Jimmy Havoc is clocked with a Double Dropkick by his opponents which sends him down to ringside. They then turn and drop Mark Haskins with their double team finisher; the 3K. Sho jumps on top of the former champion for the pinfall however Vicky Haskins is up on the apron to distract the official. Bram immediately yanks Sho out to ringside and wipes him out with a Short-Arm Clothesline. The referee never saw it. Yoh comes to his partner's aide by flying to the outside to deliver a Running Suicide Dive through the ropes to send The Chesterfield Plague in to the steel barricade. Sho rolls back in. Haskins has recovered though. The Hellbent Anti-Hero swipes him down with a Low Dropkick. He then applies the Low Sharpshooter in the middle. Sho has nowhere to go. Havoc quickly runs round and holds on to Yoh so he can't break the submission. The Uwajima native eventually taps out to end the bout. The Sanguinary pick up the win. Haskins and Havoc don't hang around to even have their arms raised in victory. They immediately join their associates at ringside and make their exit up the aisle to an arena filled with jeers.

The arena comes unglued when 'Versus The World' by Under The Influence blares over the speakers. Nick Aldis makes his way down to address the sell out crowd with a microphone in hand. After commenting on what a pleasure it is to be back home in the United Kingdom, he turns his attention to his victory last week over Joe Hendry in the Atlas Division Tournament. The National Treasure is happy to have won the match however wants to know why William Regal saw fit to send down his goons to get involved despite whether they were successful or not. He demands the commissioner come down to give him an answer. Instead he is confronted by the security team who were the trio who interfered in his match last week with the intention of screwing him out of his spot in the tournament. Fit Finlay has a microphone of his own. The brawler from Ireland tells the fans in his home country what a dump his home country has become which turns the people against him. When they begin to hurl insults his way, he simply shakes his head and turns back to the task at hand. The Belfast Bruiser tells the newcomer that he needs to learn that The Corporate Entourage runs things around here. They have been given the task in ensuring that the EPW British Atlas Championship comes to the corporate team and they are willing to make sure that happens by any means necessary. Aldis fires back by telling them that he didn't come here to lie down and take orders from them. He is then informed that his Atlas Division Tournament bout with Sha Samuels later on will be conducted under Regal's Rules in the favour of his opponent. The National Treasure looks pissed but tells the security team that he doesn't intend on going down without a fight. As he looks to leave the ring, he decks Finlay with a punch before quickly intercepting the shillelagh he had in hand. Taylor and Brookside catch their ally. They know better than to approach the man with the weapon however tell the babyface that he's made a big mistake. Nick Aldis plays to the crowd as we head to our first break.

4 Corner's Match
Dahlia Black vs. Jinny Couture vs. Kay Lee Ray vs. Nixon Newell

BACKGROUND: In the general manager of the women's division's mind, these are the four current top contenders in terms of form in the ring. There is no better way than putting them in the ring to battle it out for a title shot. Three of these competitors have held the gold before. The first woman out is the only one not to have been champion. Jinny Couture makes her way out to an arena full of boos. The Irish fans are not keen on the cocky fashionista and the scowl on her face signifies that she doesn't want to be here either. Kay Lee Ray last week warned reigning champion Viper that the entire division will be gunning for the title including her. The two-time champion is afforded a great reaction as she marches down the aisle and is keen on earning herself a third reign. Nixon Newell is currently working in a tweener role coming off a couple impressive performances in her home country of Wales. The inaugural champion of the division looks focused on getting back in to the mix with another win tonight. Last out is Dahlia Black who gets her usual pop after passing through the curtain to the sound of 'Keep It 100'.

- The match begins immediately and all four women start fighting amongst themselves. Jinny brawls with Dahlia whilst Nixon tussles with Kay Lee Ray.
- Couture is thrown to ringside. Black dives on to her with a Suicide Dive. Newell follows up with a Diving Crossbody and Kay Lee Ray nails an Asai Moonsault.
- As they get back in the ring, they start to trade blows. Nixon Newell gets the upper hand and they all receive some heavy duty strikes courtesy of The Welsh Destroyer.
- Nixon sets up for the Front Flip Piledriver on Dahlia. Kay Lee Ray breaks it with a Jumping Roundhouse Kick and quickly executes the Gory Bomb for a near fall.
- With The Killer now in control, she drills each of her opponents with shoot kicks. Black catches one of them and drops her with the Michinoku Driver for a two count.
- The New Zealand beauty climbs the ropes with the Dark Side Of The Moonsault in mind. Jinny finds her feet and shoves her off the top rope sending her to ringside.
- Jinny follows up by dropping Newell with a Rope-Hung DDT. The heel then begins to strut around the ring however soon bumps in to a fired up Kay Lee Ray.

FINISH: Kay Lee Ray has Jinny Couture alone in the ring. The fans will her on to teach the heel a lesson. The Million Pound Woman begs for forgiveness but is blasted with several stiff shoot kicks to the chest. She is then drilled with a Superkick to the jaw which drops her back first on to the canvas. The two-time champion points at the time before beginning the climb. As the crowd cheer her on, it looks like she has the Swanton Bomb in mind. Suddenly Laura Di Matteo appears at ringside out of nowhere. Kay Lee Ray spots her in the corner of her eye and takes her out with a Diving Crossbody. This may have been a bad move. It has taken her out of the match for the time being. Nixon Newell sets up for a second attempt of the Front Flip Piledriver on Jinny but The Resident Fashionista counters in to a School Girl Roll-Up. The feet are on the ropes. The referee doesn't spot it and counts three. Jinny Couture picks up the victory. The Million Pound Woman steals the #1 contender's spot with help from Laura Di Matteo. The fans are shocked by the outside interference by the underdog from Italy but it soon becomes clear she has some sort of newfound alliance with her former enemy when they leave up the aisle together. They shake hands at the top of the stage whilst the other three wrestlers watch on from ringside.

Jennifer Louise is standing by in the backstage area with Will Ospreay who goes up against Josh Bodom in a Junior Division Tournament Match later on this evening. Last week, The Blonde Bomber questioned what The Aerial Assassin had achieved in his two years with the company despite being a loser. He responds tonight by informing us that his journey may have been a long hard road of self discovery with varying levels of success but the destination will be in two week's time when he captures the EPW British Junior Championship. Ospreay failed to become the inaugural champion way back at EPW Live #6. The high-flyer from Essex admits that has haunted him ever since and is intent on righting that wrong by winning the final of this tournament. Apparently it's just an added bonus that he gets to run through the arrogant rookie Josh Bodom on his way to the final. Jennifer thanks the interviewee for his time before the cameras head back to ringside.

Nick Aldis vs. Sha Samuels

This match is a second round match in the Atlas Division Tournament with the winner heading to the final in two week's time. The match will also be conducted under Regal's Rules in the favour of Sha Samuels. Nick Aldis is welcomed out for the second time this evening to a positive reaction from the fans in Dublin. The National Treasure will be fighting against the odds tonight. He can be disqualified or counted out however his opponent cannot be. 'Commit Me To Memory' by Castile plays to sour the mood. Last week, The East End Butcher made his return to the company with a victory over Joe Coffey to advance to this stage in the tournament. There was also no love lost with the crowd with them hurling him with boos and insults throughout the bout. As he hits ringside, he snatches a steel chair to use. It appears he will be capitalising on Regal's Rules from the off set. Aldis looks hasty. Samuels slides in and charges at him with the chair high in the air. He swings. His opponent ducks. The weapon hits the top rope and then springs back up to his skull. The National Treasure quickly rolls him up in to a small package. The referee counts and the fans chant along. He holds on for three. Nick Aldis pulls out possibly the quickest win in company history. As the bell rings, the victor rolls out of the ring with the crowd going nuts around him. He turns around with a grin on his face and is slowly backing away up the aisle. Sha Samuels is fuming in the ring in the mean time. The East End Butcher starts kicking the bottom turnbuckle repeatedly before making a beeline for the official. The referee decides to make a quick escape to avoid the loser getting his hands on him. Nick Aldis is the first man to book a spot in the Atlas Division Tournament Final in two week's time. He will take on the winner of Big Damo vs. Drew Galloway later on tonight.

William Regal is watching from the back looking fairly calm considering what has just gone down. The security team look more angry considering what Nick Aldis did to them earlier tonight. They offer to get some redemption however the commissioner tells them that he has it all in hand already and tells them to take a step back from the situation. There is a knock on the door to which is followed by the appearance of Zack Gibson. Liverpool's Number One approaches the boss just looking for a moment of his time. Regal lets him carry on to which Gibson credits him on assembling such an impressive collection of talent as part of The Corporate Entourage before suggesting that he join and become a member of the team. After having a short think about it, the commissioner informs the loud mouth from Liverpool that if he can win a singles match on next week's episode then he can join The Corporate Entourage. Gibson finally tells the boss that he doesn't intend on letting him down and leaves the office with a devious grin on his face. It appears that the wiley northern heel has seen how the other associates of the establishment have benefited and obviously wants a piece of that himself now.

Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Travis Banks

BACKGROUND: This is a second round match in the Junior Division Tournament with the winner heading to the final in two week's time. Travis Banks advanced from the first round by defeating former friend turned foe TK Cooper a fortnight ago. The Kiwi Buzzsaw makes his way down to ringside with Australasian Strong Strong Style member Madison Eagles, Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher by his side however the leader saw his allies immediately barred from ringside as a result of how he picked up his last victory. After some arguing, they are forced to leave the ringside area. Zack Sabre Jr. gained a DQ victory over Jimmy Havoc to advance. It wasn't the way he wanted to get to this stage. The Technical Wizard still has the opportunity to earn himself a spot in the title match though. He is greeted with chants of his name when he passes through the ring curtain. The commentary team remind us that these two went one-on-one back at EPW Live #90 in what was a thrilling contest. Sabre Jr. ended up picking up the submission win on that occasion. The bout could have gone either way though. Nigel McGuinness comments that we have seen a whole new side of Travis Banks since then which could be the difference maker tonight with so much on the line.

- The opening minutes were a feeling out process. The two put on a wrestling clinic with holds being traded on the mat and then standing at a vertical base.
- Zack Sabre Jr. begins to target the right leg with several stomps to the limb, a Spinning Toe Hold and an Indian Death Lock which is broken with a rope break.
- The Technical Wizard attempts to stay in control of the match with a Running European Uppercut in to the corner. Banks manages to push out of a Monkey Flip.
- Travis Banks begins to show a ruthless side with several stiff kicks in the corner. He then follows up with a Running Dropkick and a Double Foot Stomp for a two count.
- The Kiwi Buzzsaw locks on the Backbreaker Submission to carry on his onslaught of offence. Sabre Jr. manages to counter out in a Kimura Lock which is broken.
- As the heel from New Zealand lifts for the Spinning Torture Rack Slam, his opponent lands on his feet and pulls off a Sitout Powerbomb for a near fall.

FINISH: Zack Sabre Jr. tries to apply the Cross Armbreaker but is rolled up with a School Boy and then drilled in the jaw with a Superkick. The relentless Travis Banks drags him up with no remorse. He then dumps him on his head with the Kiwi Crusher to hook the leg. The referee counts. His opponent gets his arm up at two. As he does, Banks tries to transition in to the Lion's Clutch. The Technical Wizard is one step ahead though and rolls to his feet. The Kiwi Buzzsaw throws a Clothesline. Sabre Jr. ducks. He pulls off a flawless Bridging Tiger Suplex transitioned immediately in to the Cross Armbreaker. Banks scurries around looking for a way out. The two are slap bang in the middle of the ring though. He is eventually forced to submit. Zack Sabre Jr. wins the bout. This victory sends him on his way to the Junior Division Tournament Final for a shot to become inaugural champion. The winner's arm is raised to a cheer from the fans in attendance. The well-travelled submission specialist will face off against the winner of Will Ospreay vs. Josh Bodom in two week's time for the gold.

When we return from the break, the 3 Arena explodes when 'Bruiserweight' by CFO$ blares across the speakers. Out walks Pete Dunne with a scowl across his face and the title around his waist. The last time we saw the champion was when he was jumped from behind by the soon to be named #1 contender Nathan Cruz. Whilst he stomps down the aisle, Nigel McGuinness that he spoke with The Bruiserweight earlier and he fully intends on calling out his upcoming opponent for a fight right here in Dublin. Dunne does just that. He expresses his wish to beat Cruz within an inch of his life. The reigning champion is even willing to put his belt on the line. He is disappointed when none other than Joe Hendry walks out from the backstage area with a microphone in hand. The Prestigious One tells Dunne that he will have to wait two weeks to get his hands on the #1 contender however he will be willing to come down to the ring and fight him instead. The Bruiserweight is still elated that he is getting a chance to mix it up with at least one corporate stooge until he is jumped once again from behind by Nathan Cruz. The Prima Donna stomps down on the champ whilst Hendry jogs down to join in. The fans begin to boo. The heels make the mistake of backing off so that Dunne can suddenly fire back with a Double Clothesline to forge a comeback. He starts throwing right hands to fend off his rivals however Cruz eventually takes him back down with a Running Chop Block. Hendry holds him in place whilst the #1 contender pulls the brass knuckles from his pocket just like two weeks ago. As he looks to charge forward, things take a turn for the worst for The Corporate Entourage members when Trent Seven sprints down to make the surprise save. Cruz and Hendry make a quick exit as The Bombardier Of Battery hits the ring. He yells down as they flee up the aisle. After he turns back round, Dunne looks up at his former ally with a look of confusion on his face. These two aren't exactly on good terms. Trent Seven then nods at Pete Dunne before leaving the champion on his own in the ring.

Big Damo vs. Drew Galloway

BACKGROUND: This is a second round match in the Atlas Division Tournament with the winner taking on Nick Aldis for the belt in two week's time. These two are no stranger to one another. Drew Galloway felt the force of the Cu Chullain's Wrath back at EPW Live #100: This Is England 2 at the conclusion of the Six Man Tag Team Elimination Match. Tonight he walks out to an unusual mixed reception from the fans in attendance. Some are in full support of The Celtic Colossus. Somehow however are choosing to stay loyal to the Irish heavyweight Big Damo despite his allegiance to evil commissioner William Regal. We have ourselves a 50/50 crowd split tonight. The Beast From Belfast ignores the cheers he gets on his way down to the ring. His attention is fully on the task at hand; getting one step further to becoming the first EPW British Atlas Champion. It is also a chance to dish out a beating to one of the biggest thorns in the side of The Corporate Entourage.

- The match begins with a test of power when the two lock up and push each other from one side of the ring to the other. Damo gets the better of Galloway.
- Big Damo delivers several overhand chops which echo around the 3 Arena. He follows up with a Running Corner Splash however his opponent moves to avoid it.
- Drew Galloway attempts a comeback with some right hand punches and gut kicks. Unfortunately the monster no sells it and nails him with a Belly-To-Belly Suplex.
- As the match rolls on, it is the corporate enforcer that maintains control and he delivers a Powerbomb, an Elbow Drop and a Corner Slingshot Splash for a two.
- The Celtic Colossus fight back again. This time he is successful and drills Damo with a Big Boot. He then follows up with a Running Neckbreaker to finally floor him.
- The Beast From Belfast has been rocked and is quickly dropped with the Future Shock DDT. The fans are on their feet and count along for the pin. Damo kicks out.
- Galloway makes a rare venture to the top rope. He dives off for a Diving Clothesline but is caught around the throat and then dumped with a Chokeslam for a near fall.
- Damo motions for the end. He slowly lifts Galloway up for the Ulster Plantation. The Scottish heavyweight manages to counter in to an Inverted Underhook Facebuster.
- Both men slowly rise to their feet. The Irish heavyweight charges at his opponent but the fans watch on in awe as Galloway drops the monster with a Spinebuster.

FINISH: Drew Galloway brings himself up off the canvas and yells out a huge battle cry. He has the 320lb man beast on one knee and decides to run the ropes to nail him with the Claymore. The leg is hooked. The referee counts. The Beast From Belfast kicks out just before three. What can he possibly do to keep this unstoppable force down? Nothing seems to be working right now. As The Celtic Colossus tries to muster more energy to continue on with this momentum, his opponent slowly rises to his feet. Galloway approaches to hook the arms for another Future Shock DDT. He is suddenly nailed with a Headbutt out of nowhere and dragged straight down in to the finishing submission; the Cu Chullain's Wrath. The monster pulls back with reckless intent. The already injured neck of his adversary must be in agony right now. The brawler from Scotland eventually taps out. Big Damo picks up the win. The biggest member of The Corporate Entourage advances to the final of the Atlas Division Tournament where he will go up against Nick Aldis to determine who will be the inaugural champion. Drew Galloway slowly rolls out to ringside holding his neck in pain. In the mean time, Damo stands tall in the ring with the referee holding up his arm. The camera zooms in on his face and he warns his upcoming opponent that he is willing to end his life to get his hands on the EPW British Atlas Championship.

Jennifer Louise has caught up in the backstage area with Jinny Couture who is with her new ally Laura Di Matteo. The Million Pound Woman brags about being the new #1 contender. She then informs us that she decided to purchase herself some back with her new found wealth and it appears to have paid off after Laura Di Matteo helped her win the 4 Corners Match earlier on. Di Matteo soon pipes up herself. She expresses that she came to this company nearly two years ago now as the underdog from Italy. After honing her craft for all this time and becoming a respected competitor, she now wishes to be known as The Sicilian Shooter instead. Jinny laughs to herself whilst her new 'bodyguard' declares that it is going to be a matter of tap or snap for anybody who decides to get in the way of Jinny Couture's destiny of becoming the next EPW British Women's Champion. Sweet Saraya approaches the duo not looking happy one bit. The general manager of the women's division is willing to honour the title shot that Jinny earned despite the controversial fashion it may have been attained. Laura Di Matteo will be in singles action next week though against Viper in a non-title match. You can hear the cheers from the arena in the backstage area. The Sicilian Shooter is fine with that and even goes so far as to predict that she will shock the world by knocking the reigning champion out. After the brave prediction, the villainous duo walk away and we head back to the arena for the main event.

Will Ospreay vs. Josh Bodom

BACKGROUND: This is a second round match in the Junior Division Tournament with the winner going on to face Zack Sabre Jr. in the final in two week's time. These two have engaged in a war of words since qualifying for the second round but have yet to meet in the ring until. Josh Bodom was quick to brand his upcoming opponent a loser who had achieved absolutely nothing in his two year stint with the company. The heat directed at The Blonde Bomber is nuclear tonight. He laps it up and even takes time to pose at the sold out crowd when he reaches the squared circle. Will Ospreay spoke out earlier this evening promising that he intends on walking out of the tournament with gold around his waist and that being able to teach Bodom a lesson will simply be a bonus on his journey to the final. The Aerial Assassin marches down to the aisle whilst the fans express their support. As he dives over the ropes in to the ring, the two go face-to-face before the bell.

- The two begin trying to outwrestle one another with Ospreay looking like he is going to gain the advantage. Bodom eventually grows angry and rakes the eyes.
- Josh Bodom asserts his dominance by reigning down with punches on his opponent in the corner. He follows up with a Running Jumping Double High Knee.
- The match rolls on with the young heel dominating his well-travelled opponent. The Blonde Bomber executes a Snap Suplex, a Running Leg Drop and an Enzuiguri.
- As Bodom attempts a Pop-Up Knee Lift, Ospreay manages to counter on the way down rolls him in to a Small Package for a two count to really turn the tables.
- Will Ospreay takes advantage. He pulls off a Dropkick, a Japanese Arm Drag, a Handspring Enzuiguri and the Robinson Special Kick in quick succession.
- The Aerial Assassin climbs to the top rope with the Imploding 450 Splash in mind. Bodom recovers and rushes up to cut him off with a German Superplex.
- The all rounder from Bournemouth locks on a Boston Crab. Ospreay is in pain but manages to slowly edge his way to the bottom rope for the eventual rope break.
- Once Ospreay is up, Bodom tries to apply a Sleeper Hold. His opponent shakes him off. The high-flyer from Essex then vaults himself up high and nails a Stunner.
- The fans are on their feet. Ospreay climbs to the apron to attempt a Springboard Forearm Smash. On the way down, Bodom counters in to a Facebreaker for a two.

FINISH: This match has been a back and forth roller coaster. Josh Bodom is desperate to end it though. The Blonde Bomber drapes his opponent over the ropes to attempt his finishing move; the Bliss Buster. Will Ospreay holds on to the ropes to avoid it. He soon counters in to a Vertical Suplex over the ropes to the outside with Bodom landing hard on to his spine. The cocky heel stirs at ringside whilst Ospreay teases a dive to the outside. The high-flyer from Essex runs the ropes, leaps over and lands on his adversary with the Sasuke Special. That move was worthy of a replay. A moment goes by and it becomes clear that both men are not in a good way. Bodom took the brunt of the move. Ospreay also landed hard on his ankle. The referee calls for medical assistance whilst he counts them both out. He reaches ten and it ends in a draw. The fans boo when the bell is rung. They did not want to see it end this way especially with a spot in the final up for grabs. The wrestlers eventually get back in to the ring to question the referee on who will advance to the final. He has no idea. The official was only doing his job after all. Josh Bodom eventually backs away only to charge back at his opponent and stomp him in the back of his already injured ankle. The Blonde Bomber drops him with the Bliss Buster and the noise in the arena is at an all time high. He shouts back at the crowd that is Ospreay is 'weak' and that the title should be his. The show closes with the heel standing over the babyface who is clutching his painful limb in agony. We still don't know who will be joining Zack Sabre Jr. in the final of the Junior Division Tournament though

Jinny stole what was a fitting way to decide a #1 contender. With a win like that she’ll need all the help she can get when she faces Viper. Wondering how the bodyguard gimmick will work for Laura. She’s no Big Daddy Cool or Big T, but we’ll see how it plays out. Still Jinny has the right way of thinking of having someone keeping an eye on things when it comes time to face Viper.

Rough way for Sha to go down in his tournament match with Aldis, but the opposition won clean.

Big win for Sabre Jr. If he was watching bet TK Cooper would have enjoyed seeing Banks lose this one and be eliminated from the tournament.

Glad to see the big man advance, though Drew fought well.

Might not be a popular decision, but the referee made the right call in the main. Curious to see how Regal will rule on this as I doubt he’ll award the tournament to Sabre jr. by default.
