The Phenomenal One

The show opens with Shane McMahon standing in the middle of the ring, welcoming everyone to the first ever THRIVE show. He promises the fans in the Manhattan Center they are in for one hell of a show. Shane promises the tournament for the THRIVE World Champion to be a memorable one. Despite not even having a show yet, THRIVE has already made waves within the industry and FBL as a whole. He references Austin Aries and Jay Lethal’s time in EPW and almost winning the Tag team championships from The C.C.K, but were unsuccessful due to the involvement of Adrian Neville. Shane promises that there will be consequences for his actions, claiming THRIVE would have set the stage being the premiere organization in the FBL by winning another promotion’s championship, for this he will pay dearly. Shane McMahon thanks the crowd and exits.

OG BC: TONGANS

A limousine pulls up to the outside of the Manhattan Center and out steps the Guerrillas of Destiny and Bad Luck Fale. Renee Young approaches, hyping up the G.O.Ds impressive resume overseas in Japan as they are three time IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team champions. She ask the trio with them being here as well as Finn Balor, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows would we see a reunion of Bullet Club. The Tongans smile as Tama Tonga simply states, “Bullet Club for life, baby!”

Ethan Carter III Vs Adrian Neville

The match starts off hot as EC3 begins to pummel The Man That Gravity Forgot as he tried to enter the ring. Carter Irish whips Neville into the ropes who comes back and catches Ethan Carter with a Tornado DDT. The aerial assault bewilders EC3, who can't seem to find a way to stop the attack. That is until he rakes the eyes of Neville, allowing him to impose his will upon the Newcastle native. The larger wrestler in EC3 keeps the Man That Gravity Forgot down on the canvas and even begins to work on the leg. Carter Irish whips Neville into the corner, charges in only to meet a pair of boots to the face. Neville shoots out of the corner with a missile drop kick bringing both men to the canvas. The pair get up at the count of eight with Neville hitting a series of dropkicks followed up by a spinning wheel kick. Neville hits a handspring DDT setting up for him to ascend to the top rope looking for the Red Arrow, but Jay Lethal comes running down the ramp, leaping on to the apron drawing the attention of both the referee and Neville. This allows Austin Aries to come in and hit Neville witht he Discus Fivearm. Neville goes down and Aries drapes EC3 over Neville. Lethal hops off the apron and the referee turns around to award EC3 the victory.

OG BC: FINN & The Good Brothers

Another limo pulls up, this time Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Finn Balor step out. Renee Young enters the scene asking them the same question she posed to Bad Luck Fale and Guerrillas of Destiny. The trio smile and proclaim that Bullet Club is for life.

Hideo Itami Vs Shelton Benjamin

It’s the collegiate wrestling background of Shelton Benjamin vs the strong style of Hideo Itami. Itami toys with Benjamin throwing feint kicks at Benjamin, who attempts to shoot for the legs of Itami, who quickly evades and circles around again. After a bit of a cat and mouse game, Shelton Benjamin manages to bring Hideo Itami down to the canvas. Itami tries everything to escape the grasp of Benjamin, but the pure wrestling background of The Gold Standard proves to be too much. Eventually, Itami gets to the ropes. Hideo Itami unloads a series of kicks. Itami teases the Go To Sleep, but Shelton slides off of his back, sting him around, and sets up for a T-Bone Suplex, but Hideo Itami elbows his way to an escape. The two men stand face to face in the center of the ring with smiles on their faces. This bout is a back and forth contest with no clear indication on who the better man is. However, in the end Hideo Itami hits the Go To Sleep for the victory.

REWARD

In the office of owner Shane McMahon, he congratulates Austin Aries and Jay Lethal on a job well done. To reward them for a job well done, Shane McMahon proclaims they have an automatic bye to the finals of the THRIVE Tag Team tournament.

Eli Drake Vs Nick Aldis

From the opening of the match, Eli Drake zones in on the leg of Nick Aldis. Aldis tries his best to fend off Eli Drake, but he doesn’t have an answer until he’s able to hit a Stun Gun on Drake. Nick Aldis fights back with everything he’s got and begins to dominate the California native, but in the end The Gravy Train is what sends Nick Aldis into the loser’s bracket of the World Heavyweight championship tournament.

ARRIVAL

So many great wrestlers….

Such great talent….

But none of them are a wrestling god..

None of them truly transcend the sport of professional wrestling and turn into an intangible art….

THRIVE…. is where I will THRIVE….

My name is KENNY OMEGA… and the World Championship will be mine! THRIVE will be mine!

Andrade Cien Almas w/ Zelina Vega Vs Finn Balor

The opening minutes of the bout belong to Finn Balor, who flusters El Idolo. Alams rolls out of the ring every time Balor gets momentum going. When Balor has enough, he marches over to the ropes only to be dropped throat first on the top rope. From this point, it’s all Cien, who display his impressive yet devastating offensive. After a while, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa are seen walking down the aisle. Almas notices them and begins to taunt them by choking Finn Balor on the second rope. Andrade sets up for a suplex, but Balor blocks it by wrapping his right leg around Almas’. Almas clubs Balor in the back of the head and goes for another attempt, but it’s again blocked. Finally, Balor counters with a suplex of his own and both men are down. Once they are up, Balor hits a series of clotheslines. Andrade stumbles into the corner where he’s met with a devastating drop kick into the corner. He goes down and Finn ascends to the top for a Foot Stomp, but Zelina Vega grabs the leg of Balor, thus allowing Andrade to ascend to the top for a super Hammerlock DDT!! He goes for the cover

- Enjoyed the ongoing Bullet Club stuff throughout the show.

- Good to see you carry on the rivalry between Neville and Aries & Lethal from EPW.

- Was pulling for Almas in the main event. Still see him as a title threat once the tourney is wrapped up.

- The Omega vignette left me wondering whether he will be affiliated with the BC.
