RELOADED MATCH #1: Wolfgang, Joe Coffey, Noam Dar & Kay Lee Ray defeated Australasian Strong Style via submission when Travis Banks tapped out to the Champagne Super Kneebar. RELOADED MATCH #2: Kip Sabian defeated Shane Strickland via pinfall with the Sliced Bread after The Second City Collective ran in to distract The King Of Swerve to lead to the finish. RELOADED MATCH #3: Jack Gallagher defeated Austin Theory via submission when he countered the Unproven Cutter in to the Achilles Lock for the win. The two shook hands afterwards. EPW Live #105: First Blood In Belfast The special opens with a recap of the rivalries leading in to tonight's matches. We are live from the 3 Arena in Belfast where Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness are standing by at ringside to welcome the viewing audience at home before running down the scheduled card which includes The C.C.K defending their EPW British Tag Team Championships against The Sanguinary, Jinny Couture takes on Viper for the EPW British Women's Championship, Drew Galloway battles a member of The Corporate Entourage in a First Blood Match, Pete Dunne vs. Nathan Cruz with the EPW World Undisputed Championship at stake and we crown our inaugural EPW British Junior and Atlas Champions in the tournament finals. EPW British Tag Team Championships The C.C.K (c) vs. The Sanguinary (with Vicky Haskins) The build to this title bout consisted of the challengers baiting the reigning champions in to putting their gold on the line with Mark Haskins and Jimmy Havoc getting the best of Chris Brookes and Kid Lykos up until last week's episode when Lykos shocked Havoc by defeating him in singles action. The heels used their in-ring experience to isolate the masked high-flyer in their corner leaving his fresh partner calling for a tag for at least five minutes. Lykos does keep his team in it though. He withstands the Suicide Silence submission by Havoc and also kicked out of the Painkiller by Haskins. The Hellbent Anti-Hero goes for his finisher; the Low Sharpshooter. The Dirty Wolf fights back with a Step-Up Enzuiguri and a Handspring Elbow. As he reaches out for the tag, Havoc charges in to illegally cut him off. The King Of The Goths is told to leave the ring by the official however Bram jogs down whilst the referee's back is turned and executes a Powerbomb on to the ring apron. He slyly makes his way backstage. Lykos rolls back in to the ring in tremendous pain. The flyweight still hasn't been able to make the tag. Haskins goes for the Low Sharpshooter again but Lykos wriggles free and finally gets that hot tag. The crowd go nuts. Chris Brookes starts knocking down both of his opponents. He ties the ex-champ up in to the Octopus Stretch. Haskins looks like he might tap but Havoc breaks it up with a Missile Dropkick. This gives Haskins the opportunity to finish the match off with the Pumphandle Driver for three. The Sanguinary win and capture the EPW British Tag Team Championships. They are passed their newly won belts. The newly crowned champions' arms are raised in victory. They don't hang around long to celebrate. In the mean time, Brookes has slowly rolled out to ringside to tend to Lykos who is clutching his back in agony. The Powerbomb executed by the interfering Bram appears to have done some serious damage. Medics are called down to help the high-flyer and his tag partner looks concerned whilst disappointed. Jennifer Louise interviews Sweet Saraya. The General Manager of the women's division has an announcement for the fans. Firstly she declares that the females in the locker room all have a bright future ahead of them however there is nothing wrong with paying homage to the people that laid the foundations for them. Saraya reminds us of the first lady of British wrestling; Klondyke Kate. The GM reminds us that for those who don't know, Klondyke Kate single-handedly helped kick start the women's wrestling movement in the United Kingdom. Therefore Saraya believes they should honour her storied career by putting on a four woman round robin tournament named the Klondyke Kate Classic with the winner receiving a title shot and a trophy awarded by the legend herself. EPW British Women's Championship Viper (c) vs. Jinny Couture (with Laura Di Matteo) Over the past several weeks, we have seen the champion use her financial wealth to get ahead however it wasn't until two weeks again that she officially became the #1 contender with help from her new hired help; Laura Di Matteo. The former underdog from Italy shocked the world when she helped her former long-time rival win a 4 Corner's Match to earn a shot at the gold and expressed that she was to be referred to as The Sicilian Shooter rather than 'the underdog from Italy' from here on in. She then brutally attacked the reigning champion with a night stick last week in a DQ loss which also saw Jinny Couture slap her upcoming opponent across the face. Viper immediately made a bee line for her opponent's enforcer who was already at ringside. She spent a minute before the bell launching her repeatedly in to the steel barricade, the ring steps and then crashed her through the announce table with a Chokeslam. The Vixen Of Violence then turns her attention to her opponent in the ring who looks like she is fearing for her life. As she tries to escape, Viper pulls her back in the ring. The bell rings. She tosses her around like a rag doll for three minutes before executing a Running Cannonball in the corner followed by a Slingshot Splash from the second rope. The champ then nails the Viper Driver in the middle. At this point, Di Matteo staggers up to the apron with her night stick in hand. Viper is wise to it and drags her over to send her flying back over the ropes with the Gorilla Press Slam. The champ then puts the final nail in Jinny's coffin with a Running Seated Senton for the three count. Viper convincingly picks up the win. She also seems delighted to have picked up a measure of redemption over the two women who attacked her last week. After a short celebration to the cheering crowd, The Vixen Of Violence marches to the back leaving the carnage behind her. Jennifer Louise interviews Nathan Cruz. The Prima Donna is decked out in a suit ahead of his title challenge in tonight's main event where he will go one-on-one with Pete Dunne. He refuses to even entertain the thought of a defeat tonight before claiming that he will do what no other man has managed to do since the reigning champion returned last year and that is teaching him some respect. Cruz continues by warning Dunne that being a champion doesn't just mean you have to wear the belt, it also means you have to represent William Regal and act like a champion which is what he intends on doing. Apparently swinging around a sledgehammer, attacking members of the boss's staff and walking around like he owns the place is not behaviour fitting of a champion. He finishes by declaring that William Regal will have a champion he can be proud of by the end of the night. After smugly adjusting his tie, the #1 contender carries on up the corridor. EPW British Junior Championship Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Will Ospreay vs. Josh Bodom This is the final of the ongoing Junior Division Tournament to crowd an inaugural champion. Zack Sabre Jr. managed to defeat Travis Banks and Jimmy Havoc to advance to this stage. Will Ospreay beat Zack Gibson and Josh Bodom beat Jack Gallagher however the two's semi-final match resulted in a count out draw which led to them both receiving a bye to the final. The match begins with the two babyfaces teaming up on the heel to please the crowd. Once he was out of the ring, they grappled in the ring for a while. This favoured Sabre Jr. at first who dominated the mat based offence. Ospreay managed to quicken the pace which helped him forge a comeback to pull off a Knee Trembler for the first two count. Bodom eventually came back in to the match and launched The Aerial Assassin off the top rope down to ringside. This gave him the opportunity to work on the neck of The Technical Wizard. The submission specialist from Kent didn't take too kindly to this treatment by the rookie and pulled him down to the canvas to proceed to tie him in knots. The angry heel soon was disposed of again. Ospreay came back in so he and Sabre Jr. could continue their battle. Things remained fast paced until Ospreay came off the top to deliver a Shooting Star Press but was caught up in the Young Boy Killer. The victim debated tapping out. After rolling around for some time, he managed to wrap his foot around the bottom rope to break it. Sabre Jr. backed away and went for the Cross Armbreaker. Ospreay pushed him off. His opponent is in a vulnerable position. He quickly springs off the ropes to deliver the Oscutter. The high-flyer from Essex crawls over for the pinfall. Suddenly he is tossed in to the ring post by Bodom who had been biding his time at ringside. The Blonde Bomber then throws him to the floor before capitalising on this opportunity by nailing his other opponent with the Bliss Buster. The leg is hooked. The referee counts three. The fans boo hard as Josh Bodom is announced as the winner. Even he is in shock as he is passed the new EPW British Junior Championship. The antagonist from Bournemouth drops to his knees in disbelief with his mouth wide open. As the official goes to raise his arm, he shoves him away and starts yelling at the fans in the front row who are heckling him. Will Ospreay is sat at ringside with his head in his hands. He was moments away from capturing his first title gold with the company. The Aerial Assassin looks up to see the cocky victor smirking back at him. In the mean time, Zack Sabre Jr. has slowly found his feet. The experienced grappler holds out his hand in a great show of respect to the arrogant youngster. His gesture is met with a disrespectful laugh. Bodom soon leaves the ring to even more boos. All he cares about is that the title is over his shoulder. He gained no respect for his actions tonight though. Jennifer Louise interviews The Sanguinary. Mark Haskins & Jimmy Havoc became new EPW British Tag Team Champions in the opening contest of the night with Vicky Haskins in their corner and a little help from Bram. Apparently Kid Lykos has been taken to the hospital following the Powerbomb on to the ring apron. Bram shows zero remorse for his actions. The Chesterfield Plague challenges the flyweight to a match if he is ever in a fit state to return to the ring so he can squash him like a bug. Jimmy Havoc soon cuts in to claim that now they are at the top of the tag team division, they will use it as their own personal playground of violence and dare any team to step up. Mark Haskins pipes up. The former EPW British Undisputed Champion knew that it wouldn't be long until he had gold around his waist yet again and claims that it is going to take a long time until he lets anybody beat him again. He then turns to Havoc and tells him that whilst they may not be friends, one thing is for sure and that is what they've got going works. The two men stare at one another with evil grins slapped across their faces. Vicky Haskins watches on whilst Bram stares menacingly down the camera lens. EPW British Atlas Championship Big Damo vs. Nick Aldis This is the final of the ongoing Atlas Division Tournament to crown an inaugural champion. Big Damo defeated Drew Galloway and Wolfgang to advance to this stage whereas Nick Aldis beat Sha Samuels and Joe Hendry in the earlier rounds whilst also fending off repeated interference from William Regal's security team. The Beast From Belfast has an 80lb weight advantage over his opponent. This shows in the opening minutes of the contest when the Irish heavyweight uses his strength to dominate. He may be in his home city however the crowd are showing more support for Aldis due to Damo's affiliation with The Corporate Entourage. The man beast goes for the Ulster Plantation at the seven minute point. Aldis manages to throw some desperation punches to fight his way out of it before finding his feet on the second rope to floor the monster with a Diving Clothesline. The crowd go nuts as the grappler from Norfolk begins throwing everything he has at his adversary. He manages to deliver a Running Knee and sends him crashing to the mat with a Running Bulldog. Damo cuts him off again soon after to lock him in a Bear Hug and runs out of patience so goes to lock on the Cu Chullain's Wrath. Aldis rolls out to try and apply the King's Lynn Cloverleaf. The fans are on their feet when he pulls over the tree trunk legs for the submission. Once the hold is applied, the security team of The Corporate Entourage run down and surround the ring. Robbie Brookside tries to enter but the referee charges over to stop him. Dave Taylor runs in whilst the official is distracted but finds himself the victim of the Tormentum. The most angry of the trio is lurking around the outside still. Fit Finlay has the EPW British Atlas Championship in hand and darts in with revenge in mind. He goes to nail Aldis with the belt. The babyface avoids it and Finlay accidentally drills his ally in the skull with the gold. Aldis then disposes of the veteran. Damo crashes to the mat. After dropkicking Brookside down to the floor with his associates, he takes to the top rope to execute the Diving Elbow Drop on his opponent. The official counts three. Nick Aldis is the first EPW British Atlas Champion. The Corporate Entourage's plan has fallen through and we see the victor take to the second rope to celebrate. He makes the wise decision to bail when Damo shows signs of life. The Beast From Belfast slowly climbs to his feet with a look of frustration plastered across his face. He immediately looks over the ropes and to the outside at the security team who are recovering themselves. The first thing they do is run when they see the Irish heavyweight step out of the ring. Their mistake cost him the title. They flee. He follows. They will have hell to pay when he catches up with them. Jennifer Louise catches up with Pete Dunne who is marching up the corridor. The Bruiserweight is very reluctant to speak to the interviewer however eventually gives in and speaks. The EPW World Undisputed Champion warns Nathan Cruz that he has bitten off far more than he can chew. The #1 contender may have been able to have gotten the better of Dunne in sneak attacks from behind however it will be a whole different ball game when he meets him in the ring one-on-one. He looks straight down the camera lens and tells his opponent that he is looking in to the eyes of the man who is now officially the only 'world class' calibre champion in the company. After he is done with Cruz, he promises to knock down any member of The Corporate Entourage that William Regal puts in his way until the boss finally decides to grow a back bone and do his own dirty work. Jennifer Louise asks the champ if he's just challenged the commissioner. He responds simply with 'any time, any place' and marches off with his title in one hand and his sledgehammer in the other. First Blood Match Drew Galloway vs. Sha Samuels Many talents over the past several months have been at loggerheads with the management and Drew Galloway has certainly made his opinion on them known since arriving in English Pro Wrestling after Global Championship Wrestling closed down. The Celtic Colossus even turned down a substantial fee to join The Corporate Entourage however there are talents including Big Damo, Nathan Cruz and Joe Hendry who have decided to align themselves with William Regal for more money and title opportunities. Sha Samuels appears to be the latest man to sell out as he accepts the challenge to represent the corporate team in this First Blood Match. The brawl kicks off immediately when The East End Butcher enters with a trash can full of weapons. The London based heel manages to gain the momentum early on with several weapon shots. He catches Galloway in the ribs with a crutch before smashing it in half on his back. Samuels tries to draw blood by forcing the end of the crutch in to his opponent's forehead. Galloway fights back. The Celtic Colossus delivers a Clothesline, a Snap Suplex and a trash can shot to the head to turn the tables. He then tries to draw blood himself by exposing the turnbuckle and blasting Sha's head in to it repeatedly. When that doesn't seem to work, he blasts him over the head with a singapore cane which still won't draw blood. Galloway mounts his opponent to deliver some closed fisted punches but is caught with a rake to the eyes. Samuels takes another turn to dominate using the weapons he brought to the ring however nothing seems to be working. He pulls out a chair from under the ring which is wrapped in barbed wire. This is about to get brutal. It still pops the bloodthirsty crowd. The East End Butcher swings however Galloway ducks, boots him in the gut and executes the Future Shock DDT. He soon takes possession of the chair and wraps it around the head of Samuels which is enough to draw blood. Drew Galloway has his arm raised in victory by the referee. The Celtic Colossus celebrates with the aforementioned weapon in hand. In the mean time, Joe Hendry comes down the aisle to help the loser to the back and Galloway dares him to step in to the ring for a fight. The two exchange some words. The Prestigious One eventually decides he will fight another day when he continues to help Samuels backstage. Josh Bodom is in the locker room popping the cork of a champagne bottle with his newly won EPW British Junior Championship draped over his shoulder. The rest of the locker room look on at the arrogant rookie in disgust. He basically stole the victory however The Blonde Bomber is quick to call them jealous haters. Noam Dar eventually steps up to go face to face with the new champ. He humbly congratulations him on the victory but tells the youngster to have a little more respect for his peers especially considering the fashion in which he won the belt. The champion fires back telling The Scottish Supernova that he may have been here since day one but he's done f*ck all since. Bodom gets a slap round the face for his trouble which pops the boys in the locker room. As the champion takes a step back looking shocked, Dar tells him to learn some respect otherwise there is going to be a long queue of guys ready to beat it out of him. The segment ends with Bodom bailing out of the locker room as the rest of the locker room pat Noam on the back for setting the rookie straight. EPW World Undisputed Championship Pete Dunne (c) vs. Nathan Cruz Everybody knows the story behind The Bruiserweight and The Commissioner and tonight is just another chapter in that ongoing war. William Regal will be hoping that his latest chosen one Nathan Cruz is able to do his dirty work and end this rivalry once and for all. Joe Hendry, Fit Finlay, Dave Taylor and Robbie Brookside accompany the challenger down to the ring however Steve Lynskey sends them straight to the backstage area to a huge cheer from the crowd. As they leave, Pete Dunne passes them on the way up the aisle with a huge scowl for them when he passes. The match begins with Dunne launching his opponent to ringside which escalates in to a pier six brawl. They end up back in the ring just before the ten count. The Bruiserweight continues to dominate until Cruz pulls off a Running Chop Block from behind. He focuses on the knees for a short period and locks on the Yorkshire Cloverleaf. The champion eventually finds the ropes. The Prima Donna continues to take control of the match to the chagrin of the audience. He even goes as far as throwing a beer in to the face of a fan at ringside. The heat in place is nuclear when he sits up on the ropes to deliver a Diving Double Knee Backbreaker. The brawler from Birmingham counters and rams the #1 contender in to the corner. The bullying begins from here. He bends and bites on his fingers before repeatedly stamping on them. The fans in Belfast cheer as it appears Cruz is about to get what is coming to him. Dunne executes a Forearm Smash, a Rolling Release Suplex and a Scoop Slam in to the turnbuckles in quick succession. He charges forward forward for a Running European Uppercut. Cruz pulls the referee in the way instead sending Lynskey crashing down in to a heap. The Bruiserweight nails the Pedigree still for a cover. Boos echo around the arena when a count doesn't follow. When Dune tries to help the official up, he is jumped from behind by Zack Gibson who he successfully defeated last week. Liverpool's Number One appears to be out for revenge. He lays in several stomps and follows up with the Helter Skelter Brainbuster before disappearing back in to the crowd. Just as it was looking like the champion had this sealed up, we see another twist in the tale. The challenger slowly climbs to his feet. The Prima Donna executes the One Night Stand right in the middle just as the referee is recovering. Dunne's leg is hooked as the referee counts slowly. He hits two. The Bruiserweight kicks out right before three. An angry Nathan Cruz tries to lift him up for the One Night Stand yet again. Pete Dunne escape and drills him with the Bitter End. This must be over. The leg is hooked followed by another near fall. The champ can't believe it. He tries to lock on the Regal Stretch which is what he finished off Mark Haskins with last month to win the gold. Cruz uses his elbow to escape. He rolls out, delivers a Double Knee Facebreaker and lifts him up for the One Night Stand. One more would surely end it. On the way down, Dunne blasts him with a Spinning Backfist. He lands on his feet. The challenger staggers forward forward right in to another variation of Dunne's finisher which he calls the Better End. It is a Pumphandle Kneeling Reverse Piledriver. The Bruiserweight leans over his opponent for the three count pinfall. The match is over. Pete Dunne had to bite, scratch and claw quite literally to retain his gold but he did. The crowd loved the finish and are happy with the result. The brawler from Birmingham stands tall with his title belt to end the show. This will no doubt infuriate William Regal even more. Pete Dunne's title reign rolls on. Edited by UK-Joe, Apr 12 2018, 08:02 PM.

Too bad that Lykos and Brookes couldn't benefit from the momentum from last week's singles win. As rough as a loss it was for them, gotta give it to the new champs. Not a bad decision by Sarya to hold a Klondyke Kate Classic tournament. I've heard of her, but not really familiar with her work. Though if the boss says KK's history is legit then that's good enough for me. Here's to a successful event. Not surprised that Viper was able to shake off the previous week's beat down and retain. Though if the opposite happened and she lost, I wouldn't have been surprised if she won the tournament. Since she won tonight hovever, I'm not sure who will come out on top. Bodom needed a huge win like this. Both Sabre Jr. and Ospreay would have been fine choices to hold the gold first, but Bodom needed this one. In a way it kind of reminds me of when NWA-TNA was founded and AJ Styles defeated the veteran Jerry Lynn to be the inaugural champion. Hopefully Bodom realizes that being a champion is a whole different ball game than when one is chasing the gold. Gotta call this one an upset. Even though it was due to outside interference backfiring, defeating the big man in general is an impressive feat, let alone when out numbered. Wouldn't want to be those who have earned Damo's ire. The first blood match could have went either way. No issues with Drew getting the W, though hopefully Sha will get back in the fight and get something going. Have a feeling Bodom may think of something to get back at Dar for his actions, even though Dar was not wrong with what he said. Dunne's winning ways continue. The boss may be running out of options. |
