RELOADED MATCH #1: Xia Brookside defeated Laura Di Matteo via pinfall with the Iconoclasm to qualify for the Klondyke Kate Classic. RELOADED MATCH #2: Trent Seven defeated Sha Samuels via pinfall after countering the Spinning Spinebuster and nailing the Burning Hammer for three. RELOADED MATCH #3: Zack Sabre Jr. & Will Ospreay defeated The Aussie Open via submission when Sabre Jr. forced Davis to tap to the Cross Armbreaker. EPW Live #107 Once Reloaded is all wrapped up, the main broadcast begins with a video recap of last week's show which saw Pete Dunne savagely beaten down in a cage by The Corporate Entourage whilst William Regal watched on. Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness welcome us live from Aberdeen. The EPW World Undisputed Champion will not be in attendance due to injuries sustained during the aforementioned attack. Both commentators are noticeably disgusted watching back clips of it. They then run down the card which includes The C.C.K returning to action against The Glaswegian Assembly, El Ligero vs. TK Cooper, The Second City Collective join forces with Kip Sabian to do battle with Shane Strickland and two mystery partners, Nathan Cruz goes one-on-one with Drew Galloway and Dahlia Black and Madison Eagles duke it out for the third spot in the Klondyke Kate Classic. Jennifer Louise will also be talking to EPW British Tag Team Champions The Sanguinary with Vicky Haskins and Bram in the ring later on. 'Regality' by Jim Johnston plays to a chorus of boos. William Regal marches down with The Corporate Entourage behind him minus one. The commissioner soon welcomes out that man for his own individual entrance; Joe Hendry. The Prestigious One brags about what he did to Pete Dunne along with his corporate associates. He then promises to bring the title to the stable when he challenges for the gold in three week's time. The boss soon takes back the microphone to reveal that Hendry will in fact be in action in tonight's main event. His title shot apparently isn't a lock yet. The #1 contendership will be at stake which unsettles him for a moment. Regal tells his chosen contender that he has full faith that Joe Hendry will dominate the competition and move on to take Pete Dunne's belt from him in Glasgow. He then raises the arm of Hendry whilst his music plays again to end the segment. The Glaswegian Assembly vs. The C.C.K Wolfgang and Joe Coffey fell short at the last hurdle during the reigning champions singles match invitational last week after The Regulator beat Jimmy Havoc however The Iron Man was cheated out of a win against Mark Haskins. Their hopes of challenging for the gold in Scotland appear to be dead in the water. This bout was a respectful one between two babyface team. That doesn't mean they didn't all go for it. The C.C.K controlled the early stages by keeping things fast paced. Just two weeks out from being cheated out of the belts themselves, Chris Brookes and Kid Lykos try to keep their eye on the ball so they can stay in the title picture. The Glaswegian Assembly eventually slow things down using their power and size advantage. Wolfgang gets the first near fall of the match with a Moonsault from the second rope. Joe Coffey spins Lykos round multiple times with the Big Swing before locking on the No Mercy Crab. The masked high-flyer struggles to get to the ropes however uses his small body to manoeuvrer his way to safety. After getting a hot tag, Brookes gets some momentum behind him. He is soon wiped out with the Discus Lariat though. The Iron Man tags out to The Regulator who pulls off the Howling for the three count win. The Glaswegian Assembly are victorious. They celebrate for a while. Once Chris Brookes has recovered, he grabs a microphone and the losing team approach the winners. He calls the Scottish heavyweight 'the hardest f*cking team in the tag team division' and calls for them to be given a second opportunity to earn the right to become champions. A handshake follows. The ex-champs then leave the ring to let the victors continue their celebration. Jennifer Louise is knocking on the locker room door that Kay Lee Ray is meant to be in however there is no answer. After a while, she is given clearance to enter. The interviewer walks in to see The Killer laid out on the floor unconscious with blood over her face. Medical assistance is called for immediately. They arrive to the scene however Sweet Saraya follows. Jennifer grabs a quick word with her as the general manager of the women's division instructs the professionals to take her straight to a medical facility. Saraya wants whoever did this to make themselves known. Just because the #1 contender has been taken out it doesn't mean she is now on the hunt for a new one. The GM reveals that the whole division will be guilty in her eyes until proven innocent. El Ligero vs. TK Cooper The commentary team announce that this bout consists of two wrestlers looking to climb up the ranks of the Junior Division and tonight is an opportunity to impress. The crowd is split. The beginning of the contest isn't what the people expected. They wrestle on the mat which doesn't exactly favour either competitors. The pace soon gets quicker. Reversals and counters come thick and fast. El Ligero is the first to get some form of momentum when he pulls off a Superkick, a Handspring Enzuiguri and a Running Single Leg Dropkick all in super quick succession. He takes to the top rope to no avail. TK Cooper cuts him off, climbs up and drops him with a Michinoku Driver followed by a Lionsault for the first near fall of the contest. He then lines up for his trademark Scissors Kick which Ligero counters in to a Sunset Flip Powerbomb for a near fall of his own. The masked high-flyer hops on to the apron ready for the C4L. As he springboards off the ropes, Cooper rolls to safety which leaves the two colliding in to one another with a Dropkick each. Out of nowhere Josh Bodom is in the ring. He drops both men with a shot to the skull with his EPW British Junior Championship before demanding a microphone. As the referee calls for the bell to call this a no contest, Bodom begins to rant about not hearing people talking about how he should be showing respect to everybody in the back. He reminds us that it is him with the gold over his shoulder and claims that the lack of respect is being shown to him. TK Cooper starts to show signs of movement. This prompts the champ to quickly stop what he's doing so he can drop him with the Bliss Buster. He goes to do the same to Ligero. Noam Dar quickly rushes down the aisle to stop this farce. The two enemies fight amongst themselves. The Scottish Supernova gets the better of the arrogant rookie from Bournemouth. He throws him down to ringside and then picks up his belt that is still in the ring. After posing to the crowd with it, Dar warns Bodom that he wants the next shot at the gold. Jennifer Louise is standing by in the backstage area with Zack Gibson. She asks about why he is so determined to get himself a spot in The Corporate Entourage faction. He declares that he knows that if he's given the right opportunities by the right people then he can be a major player. Liverpool's Number One basically gave Nathan Cruz the title on a plate and he royally let it slip so he wonders why William Regal is giving title shots to screw ups when the real deal is standing right in front of him. Gibson tells us that he will show the commissioner one way or the other that he is the man for the job. As he looks round, he sees some one who looks distinctly like Pete Dunne from behind. He takes his chance and quickly attacks him from behind. The loud mouth from Liverpool locks him in the Shankley Gates before realising it is actually a member of the crew with the same hair cut as the reigning champion. Once he has realised his mistake, security have arrived on the scene and he tries to explain himself. That's not good enough though. The team of the security cart him out whilst Gibson yells 'GET MR. REGAL' repeatedly. They all disappear up the coridoor as the segment comes to a close. Things couldn't be any worse for Zack Gibson right now. Shane Strickland, Sho & Yoh vs. The Second City Collective & Kip Sabian The heels make their way to the ring after the challenge was posed during a backstage interview on last week's episode. The fans in Aberdeen are not keen on them. They get behind Shane Strickland who stops on the ramp to await the entrance of his mystery partner. Out comes Sho & Yoh. The Japanese imports join forces with The King Of Swerve against the cocky, home grown stars. The babyface team gain the momentum in the opening minutes. Kip Sabian eventually turns the tables with a Leg Lariat. His team choose to isolate Yoh in the corner with double team moves. Dunne holds him in a loose bear hug lift whilst Smile pulls off a Springboard Leg Drop. They go to follow up with the Killjoy Superkick but Yoh avoids it and gets the hot tags. Sho charges in with several punches, kicks and throws. They soon nail Damian Dunne with their finisher; the 3K. This leads to a tag to Shane Strickland who immediately climbs to the top rope with the 450 Splash in mind. Ryan Smile illegally holds on to the foot of The King Of Swerve to stop him executing the move. This eventually causes him to lose his balance and fall to the mat. In the mean time, Dunne tags out to Sabian. Superbad comes in to the ring before delivering the Sliced Bread for the three count. The heel team win. They waste no time in escaping the ring as the babyfaces chase them off. Shane Strickland calls for them to get back in but they choose to fight another day. The high-flyer from Washington looks frustrated as he watched the winners disappear to the backstage area with another cheap victory over him. Zack Sabre Jr. and Will Ospreay are sat in the locker room. The newest partnership in the tag team division are discussing their future as a team and things look bright if tonight's main event of Reloaded is anything to go by. The duo scored a victory over The Aussie Open. If things continue to move in a similar direction, they will soon be in contention for the gold held by The Sanguinary. Ospreay looks at his phone and looks excited by a recent notification. He informs his new partner that he's received a message from Nando's Chicken about them sponsoring them. They'll even supply them with special t-shirts and more importantly 'free chicken'. Sabre Jr. rolls his eyes before reminding The Aerial Assassin he doesn't even like chicken. The Technical Wizard just wants them to focus on their in-ring competition which continues next week. The segment ends with Ospreay still trying to show his disinterested partner the tweet from Nando's. Nathan Cruz vs. Drew Galloway Nick Aldis makes his way down to guest commentate on the match. The EPW British Atlas Championship as a vested interest in the bout seeing as his next challenger is competing. Drew Galloway is welcomed with a huge ovation. The Celtic Colossus will wrestle for the first time in years in front of the fans in his home country. He takes to the top rope to look over the corner and then takes a look down at Aldis who is sat down at ringside. The two share a brief look before Nathan Cruz makes his entrance down to the squared circle. The crowd are not enthusiastic about the corporate lackey's presence. They express this with boos, jeers and insults. It is fairly even early on with Galloway using his power advantage however Cruz using every dirty trick in the book in response. The Scottish heavyweight picks up a two count with the Claymore. He attempts a Superplex but The Prima Donna counters with an illegal rake to the eyes. The antagonist from Yorkshire leaps off the ropes to deliver a Diving Double Knee Facebreaker for a two of his own. It appears he doesn't have the strength to lift Galloway for the One Night Stand though. Cruz chooses to soften him up instead with some knife edge chops and a Short-Arm Clothesline. As Galloway climbs up, he is nailed with several stomps. The member of The Corporate Entourage goes for a Running Knee. The big man from Ayr reverses it in to a Back Body Drop to begin the final comeback. Galloway nails a Clothesline, a Running Powerslam and awaits his opponent to climb to his feet. Cruz is up. He receives a boot to the gut followed by the Future Shock DDT for the pin. The three is counted. Drew Galloway is awarded the victory. The Celtic Colossus's arm is raised and Nick Aldis soon joins him in the ring. The EPW British Atlas Champion approaches his next challenger nodding his head in approval. He then respectfully raises his arm too before leaving the ring as we head to a break. As we return, there is a commotion at ringside. Cameras turn and Nikki Cross has invaded the ringside area. The Queen Of Chaos has returned from a brief stint on the sidelines. She grabs a microphone before sliding in to the ring which scares off ring announcer Jim Smallman. The fans give her a mixed response due to her being from the country. This response turns sour when she reveals that it was her who attacked Kay Lee Ray earlier tonight. Cross explains her frustration in being completely forgotten about recently regardless of being the first lady of Scottish wrestling. She then turns her attention to reigning champion Viper. The Queen Of Chaos doesn't intend on leaving Scotland without the EPW British Women's Championship around her waist. Sweet Saraya walk out on to the stage claiming that her stance hasn't changed. Actions like this won't get any one a shot at the title. The general manager of the women's division has just received word that Kay Lee Ray has recovered and will be able to compete next week therefore her and Nikki Cross will go one-on-one in singles action. The woman in the ring seems happy about this. She then claims that after she finishes off The Killer, she will be coming for the champion. Dahlia Black vs. Madison Eagles The winner of this match will earn herself the third spot in the Klondyke Kate Classic. There is heat between these two already. Dahlia Black is from New Zealand and has risen from a valet to a champion since arriving in EPW. Madison Eagles is a well-travelled recent addition to the women's division. Being from Sydney, she has aligned herself with the Travis Banks led faction; Australasian Strong Strong Style. The bout starts off with some heavy duty strikes before the two head down to the mat to trade holds. The first significant move is a Powerbomb by Eagles which lends her the momentum. The Punisher continues to control the match with more holds on the mat. Her opponent tries to forge a comeback but has several attempts cut off. Once Eagles has her adversary down, she goes for the Springboard Moonsault. Black gets her knees up to fend off the move. She pulls off a Diving Crossbody for a two count to turn the tables. The ex-champ has a few minutes in charge herself. Dahlia rolls in to a Single-Leg Kiwi Crab which almost ends the match. Eagles finds the ropes in the end. As the match rolls on, The Punisher nails a game-changing Discus Elbow Smash. The move really rocks The Kiwi Princess who falls victim to her opponent's finisher; the Hell Bound. The leg is hooked. The official counts three. Madison Eagles picks up the win to secure her place in the Klondyke Kate Classic. The Scottish fans boo as her arm is raised in victory. The commentary team show us a bracket of who is in the tournament so far. The final entrant will be determined next week with Klondyke Kate herself being in attendance herself to see that match unfold. We return from the final break where Jennifer Louise welcomes out The Sanguinary. The faction walk out in their entirety with the EPW British Tag Team Championships in their possession. Jimmy Havoc is the mouthpiece during this segment for his group. The King Of The Goths complains about why The C.C.K think it is their business to wade in on their business because everybody knows that the tag team division is theirs now. Moving their attention to The Glaswegian Assembly, they 'will' give them a chance to regain a title shot. Joe Coffey will have to beat himself, Haskins and Bram in a 3-on-1 Handicap Gauntlet next week. They will get their desired shot at the gold if he is victorious in all three matches however they must sign a contract stating The Glaswegian Assembly will never team again if they lose. The Sanguinary seem quite confident about what they've just proposed. Out walks Wolfgang and Coffey to the stage. The Iron Man has a microphone. He claims that he doesn't even have to think twice about accepting the challenge and warns the group in the ring to expect the fight of their lives. The Regulator nods his head in approval. The crowd definitely approve. The segment ends with their music playing and the champions watching on from the ring. Joe Hendry (with The Corporate Entourage) vs. ??? The #1 contender orchestrated one of the nastiest beat downs in company history last week after double crossing Pete Dunne in a Steel Cage Tornado Tag Team Match. Joe Hendry's shot at the belt is at stake in tonight's main event though. Apparently William Regal has lined up an opponent for him. The Prestigious One is accompanied by the entire stable of corporate lackies. William Regal himself is also at ringside too. They all seem smug when Nixon Newell is revealed as the opponent of the next title challenger. Hendry looks amused to be fighting a woman. The inaugural EPW British Women's Champion proves that she shouldn't be overlooked as she knocks Hendry out to ringside with a Springboard Dropkick as the bell rings. The accomplished freestyle wrestler charges back in to the ring looking frustrated only to be knocked down with a Dropkick, a Hip Toss and a Scoop Slam which the fans go nuts for. The girl-next-door from Wales hops up to the ropes with a Diving Hurricanrana in mind. The wiley heel catches her and turns the tables with a Sit-Out Powerbomb for two. Things turn ugly when he launches her shoulder first in to the ring post. This is followed up by a Commonwealth Clothesline and an Arm-Wrench DDT. He then arrogantly forces his knee on the back of her head until the referee drags him off. As Regal tells the referee to loosen up, he continues to stomp down on his female counterpart repeatedly while Sha Samuels pulls her hair from ringside. This is ridiculous now. Hendry pulls her back in the middle with no remorse by the ankle. The Prestigious One applies the Ankle Lock. Newell tries to hold on but is forced to submit when she can't muster the strength to get a rope break. Once the bell rings, he orders the referee to raise his arm in victory which he does with reluctance. Steve Lynskey soon tries to pull her to safety. The security team pull him away though. This gives Joe Hendry the chance to blind side her with a sucker punch which sends her falling down to ringside. Nathan Cruz and Sha Samuels pull the mat off the floor to expose the concrete at ringside. William Regal watches on as his chosen contender drops Nixon Newell on to the concrete back first with the Olympic Slam. This is disgusting. The Corporate Entourage are on a serious power trip. For a second week in a row they stand tall in the ring as an opponent lays wounded ready to be stretchered off when the show goes off the air. |

The tournament appears to be shaping up nicely so far. Looking forward to it kicking off once all the qualifcation bouts are complete. Nice sight between both teams following the main show opener. A bit unsure on if Saraya's words are a good or a bad thing. While it is important to find out who did it, she should be careful when assuming all are guilty right of the bat, could cause some sort of rebelion, but I doubt think it'll get that bad. Cooper's bad luck continues, though at the hands of Josh Bodom, rather than those of his opponent. Good thing Dar made the save. Have a feeling those two will cross paths officially soon. I don't know what Nando's Chicken is, but free chicken isn't a bad thing. Quick recovery for KLR. Not sure what this means for what Saraya said earlier, but KLR vs Nikki should be a good one. I'll admit those who have qualified (and who failed in their bid to do so) were unexpected choices to see get the chance, but no objections whatsoever. From the looks of it one more spot remains. Wondering who it will go to. High stakes in the tag division. Curious who see how it goes. As much of a fan of intergender matches I am, this was a big time set up. Gotta give it to Newell for giving it the old college try though, as well as her showing confidence to her opponent in the opening seconds. |
