Revolution Wrestling Presents
Chapter Ten: Eddie Guerrero Invitational (Night One)
Undisclosed Location in Chicago, IL.
11.17.17

The show opens with Revolution Owner and Promoter, Gabe Sapolsky standing in the ring to the largest crowd in company history standing on their feet, chanting "EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE"! Gabe is humbled by the Chicago crowd tonight, thanking them for their support of the company and love for the sport. He says that this weekend is dedicated to the loving memory of one of the best that this business has ever seen, Eddie Guerrero. Sapolsky called Guerrero the best in hybrid wrestling; he could do it all from Lucha, to mat wrestling, to strong style. Gabe says that he searched long and hard in finding 24 of the best independent wrestlers on the planet that could do all of those things as well. And he thinks that he's done it.

Gabe Sapolsky brings out the 24 competitors one by one, announcing their name and what company they represent. Everyone gets a respected standing ovation from the crowd, everyone except Adam Cole that is. Adam Cole gives everyone the finger (including his arch rival, Seth Rollins). The tension between the two rivals is at a fever pitch, almost putting a premature to the group photo. Gabe Sapolsky and several of the wrestlers are forced to hold the two apart. Gabe says that this tournament will have very strict rules for a change. The matches themselves will have the standard rules of No Count Out or DQ. But there will be NO INTERFERENCE. If there is interference in a match, you will immediately be disqualified from the tournament and forced into a 90 Day Suspension. He says all this right in Adam Cole's face, who shakes his head in anger. Gabe also turns to Seth Rollins, telling everyone to conduct themselves with respect because they're not only representing themselves this weekend, but their respective companies and countries. The group photo is taken as Gabe thanks the talent and the crowd, before handing the microphone off to Ring Announcer, Melissa Santos.

VIDEO PACKAGE: Over footage that cuts between the 24 competitors in this years tournament and shots of Eddie Guerrero, we hear various competitors discuss the importance of the tournament and the impact that Eddie Guerrero made in their lives. We begin with the 2009 EGI Winner and defending tournament winner, Johnny Gargano. Gargano discusses how he won this very tournament over eight years ago, and back then nobody believed that he belonged amongst the best independent wrestlers on the planet. This weekend, he proves those naysayers wrong when he wins the whole shebang for the second time. Heavy favorite, Bryan Danielson is asked what it means to be in the tournament. He doesn't quite know yet, but he knows what it's like to be left out of them. He studied every man in this years tournament, and plans to return to wrestling and show that this Indy Legend still has what it takes. Chris Hero is next, and says that this tournament has been a long time coming. He says that he's the only man this weekend to have competed in every single tournament, but he's never won one. He was close in 2006 and again in 2009 when he went all the way to the Finals. This year he shows why he is the best technician on the fucking planet!

We hear from the Inaugural Revolution Heavyweight champion; Seth Rollins next. He's quick and to the point, saying that he was supposed to be the backbone of this company, and he plans on taking that torch again this weekend. He finishes by wishing to meet Adam Cole somewhere down the line in the tournament, because he's going to kick the fucking shit out of him. 2007 EGI winner, Chuck Taylor is next and talks about the night when he won the tournament. He beat 23 of the best wrestlers on the planet 10 years ago, and 10 years later in 2017 he's going to do the same thing. Next up are the Revolution Tag Team champion; Davey Vega and Mat Fitchett. They say that Revolution gave them their first start in the business to get noticed by more fans and promotions. They plan on winning the tournament this year, which leads to the two Besties in the World to argue with one another.

Claudio Castagnoli is next, and discusses how Eddie Guerrero was a huge inspiration to him. He competed in the first two tournaments, but he wasn't in 2009's. The only reason that he's back in the tournament is to win it. Adam Cole rounds out the group of promos, saying that of course he was invited into the tournament for a second time. He admits that his performance in 2009 is what put him on the map. But this year when he wins it, it's not just him that gets that shiny, precious trophy, it's the BULLET CLUB, BAYBAY!

Match One
EGI First Round Match: Candice LeRae vs. Johnny Gargano
[30 Minute Time Limit]

This weekend's commentary team of Excalibur and Corey Graves welcome you the 2017 Eddie Guerrero Invitational. Before discussing the match, they talk about how all the First Round matches taking place between tonight and tomorrow will hold a very strict 30 Minute Time Limit. Excalibur calls this contest a battle amongst spouses. A hug kicks off the weekend as the bell sounds. Candice and Johnny circle one another before locking up. Gargano uses his size to grab Candice in certain holds, but LeRae is constantly able to use her small frame to get out of every hold. Johnny grows tired of it and slams Candice into the canvas with a stiff body slam. He covers, but only gets a two count. Johnny quickly locks in a full nelson on the mat, but Candice slips out and kicks Johnny in the face. Johnny shakes it off and Candice connects with a running dropkick to her husbands face again for a two count. Candice forearms away at Johnny in the corner, and looks for a running forearm smash, but Johnny catches her, placing his wife on the top rope. LeRae boots him in the face, as Gargano wobbles backwards and Candice leaps off connecting with a tornado DDT for a long two count!

Johnny immediately rolls out of the ring, and Candice connects with a suicide dive through the ropes! The crowd starts a loud "CANDICE" chant! Excalibur says that Candice will do anything for a victory, as Graves points to her match with Joey Janella back at Chapter Eight's 28 Days Later event to prove that point. Johnny elbows Candice in the face, and powerbombs her onto the ring apron. Johnny shoves her into the ring, and awaits her from the apron to reach her feet. Johnny Wrestling looks for his Slingshot DDT, but Candice catches him with a knee! Candice looks for the Ms. LeRae's Wild Ride but Johnny counters into the GargaNo Escape from out of nowhere! LeRae writhes in pain on the canvas, reaching for the ropes but is too far away. The crowd wills her to life, as she begins elbowing Johnny in the jaw until he releases her. Candice then grabs Johnny in the Ms. GargaNo Escape to a thunderous pop from the crowd! Excalibur and Corey can’t believe it, as Johnny looks to tap out but instead rolls through it, picking up Candice and Lawn Darting her face first into the middle turnbuckle. Johnny looks for a powerbomb, but LeRae counters into yoshi-tonic out of nowhere for the three count in just over eleven minutes!

Following the match, LeRae is immediately in tears, shocked that she scored the upset over her husband. The crowd chants "CANDICE", threatening to cave in the roof of the dirty building. A gutted and disappointed, Johnny Gargano sits in a corner with his head in his hands. Graves says "And just like that, the last EGI winner has been eliminated from the tournament". Candice helps her husband to his feet, as the two embrace in the middle of the ring to a standing ovation. Johnny tells his wife to win the whole shebang.

Match Two
EGI First Round Match: Juice Robinson vs. Pentagon Jr.
[30 Minute Time Limit]

An intense beginning as Pentagon gets right in Robinson's face, giving him the Cero Meido taunt. Juice immediately slaps him across the face, and Pentagon gets right back in his face. The referee has to separate the two before the sound of the bell. Excalibur says that clearly Juice has come into the EGI, looking to show no intimidation in his Revolution debut. Corey calls this a rare trip to the States for Juice who is a New Japan mainstay.

At the bell, they immediately begin trading blows as things break down into a hockey fight. Pentagon gets the upper hand, and chops Juice across the chest. The sound echoes throughout the building. Pentagon poses to the crowd who chants "CERO MEIDO" to his liking. Juice gets right in his face, screaming at him to "BRING IT, YOU PUSSY!". Pentagon accepts giving him another chop, which causes Juice to drop to a knee. He gets up and gives Pentagon a chop of his own. The two begin exchanging chops in the center of the ring, which ends with Juice giving Pentagon a beautiful standing dropkick to the face. Pentagon rolls to the apron, reaching his feet as Juice connects with a running cross body through the ropes, sending Pentagon crashing to the hard floor! The crowd pops huge chanting "HOLY SHIT"! Juice is on fire, as he gets to his feet, holding his ribs. Juice forearms away at Pentagon before rolling him into the center of the ring. Juice goes for a quick cover for a two count. Pentagon is slow to reach his feet in the corner, and eats a flurry of running forearms before dropping on his backside in the corner. Juice follows up with a running cannonball, and covers for the 1...2...Pentagon grabs the bottom rope.

Juice looks for another cannonball in the corner, but runs right into a superkick to the face. Pentagon then chops Juice right in the face, and covers him for a long two count. Pentagon looks for a Tiger Driver, but Juice blocks it. Pentagon elbows him in back of the head repeatedly before power bombing him in the center of the ring. Pentagon covers for a long two count. Pentagon chops away at Robinson in the corner, and does the CERO MEIDO taunt, but Juice grabs him by the arm. Juice unloads with quick jabs, and ducks a right hand and drops Pentagon face first into the canvas with a front suplex face plant for a two count! Juice looks for Pentagon's signature arm break, but Pentagon rolls through it and superkicks him in the face twice. A Penta Driver is countered into a roaring back elbow from Juice who drops him on his face with The Juice is Loose! Robinson covers for the 1...2...KICK OUT! Juice can't believe it as he sets Pentagon up for a second one. Pentagon blocks it and shoves Juice against the ropes and takes him down with multiple slingshots. Pentagon drops him on his head with a Package Piledriver, followed by the Penta Driver to finally put Juice away in 10 minutes.

After the match, Pentagon Jr celebrates his victory to a standing ovation from the crowd. Pentagon leads the crowd into a CERO MEIDO chant. Juice reaches his feet to a standing ovation from the respectful Chicago crowd. Juice offers Pentagon a handshake, but gets faked out and given the Cero Meido taunt to the face. Pentagon struts to the back as Excalibur calls Pentagon the scariest man in the tournament this year, and easily a heavy favorite. Corey Graves puts Juice Robinson's performance over, as an incredible debut and a deserving performance for the Eddie Guerrero Invitational. Juice bows the crowd who chants "PLEASE COME BACK"!

Match Three
EGI First Round Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Claudio Castagnoli
[30 Minute Time Limit]

Corey says that the hits just keep on coming tonight, as this was one of his most anticipated matches of the weekend. A lock up begins with Claudio tossing Alexander out of the ring, showing off his strength immediately. Cedric wastes no time, switch up his game running at Double C, ducking under a right hand but eating a boot to the face coming back. Claudio covers for a two count, before locking Cedric in a headlock. Corey laughs saying that Castagnoli is showing no mercy in putting Alexander in his place tonight. Cedric begins elbowing away at Claudio until he releases the headlock. Cedric connects with some stiff short arm European Uppercuts before eats a stiff European Uppercut from the king of them. Cedric goes flying across the ring, as Claudio picks him up and places Alexander in the corner. Claudio with a flurry of uppercuts of his own, and blasts Cedric with a running European of his own! Cedric falls to the mat, as Claudio pulls him into the center of the ring and covers for a long two count. Claudio grabs the nearest limb, which happened to be a leg and twists Cedric over in a half boston crab. The crowd begins turning on Claudio, getting behind Cedric Alexander but Corey says that these first five minutes have been nothing but Castagnoli.

Claudio sits out on the back of Cedric's, forcing Alexander to use every ounce of energy to crawl to the ropes. Castagnoli deadlifts Alexander up, and tosses him halfway across the ring with ease. Claudio wipes his hands, with a grin as he makes a cocky cover. Cedric immediately counters into a roll up for a long two count out of nowhere! Alexander with some forearms, and a knee strike. Cedric hits the ropes but Claudio dashes with a running European Uppercut! Castagnoli lifts Cedric up in a stalling suplex as the crowd counts all the way up to fifty three seconds before Castagnoli finally drops Alexander! Claudio covers for a long two count, before he pounds the canvas with a fist clearly growing a little frustrated. Double C shakes off the frustration quickly, and grabs Alexander in a half nelson and pulls him up. Castagnoli drops him with an Alpamare Waterslide, and makes the cover for the 1...2...KICK OUT! Castagnoli covers, this time hooking a leg for the first time in the contest. But it still only gets a two count. Excalibur believes that Claudio is starting to realize that he's possibly under estimated the heart of the New Blood that is Cedric Alexander. Graves says that if Claudio allows Cedric's resilience to irritate him, then that could spell gameover for Claudio at anytime. Excalibur reminds Corey that upsets can happen, pointing to tonight's first match as proof.

Castagnoli grabs a side headlock, as Alexander struggles to his feet. Cedric with elbows trying to break the headlock, but Claudio refuses. Cedric eventually forces Claudio to break it with a jaw breaker. Cedric ducks a boot to the face, and catches Claudio with a handspring Ace Crusher for a long two count! Cedric elbows Claudio into a corner before getting dumped onto the apron. Claudio looks to suplex him back into the ring, but Cedric lands on his feet and rolls Claudio up and kicks him in the side of the face. Cedric then follows up with a Michinoku Driver! Alexander uses what strength he has left to cover Castagnoli for a two count! Cedric crawls under the ropes, and slowly pulls himself to the top rope. Alexander perches himself up top, and leaps off looking for the Overtime, but Claudio gets his knees up! Cedric lands mid section first into the knees and shins of Claudio, and screams in pain almost instantly grabbing his mid section. Claudio murder him with a Roaring European Uppercut, followed by the Neutralizer for the 1...2...KICK OUT!

Castagnoli can't believe it, pulling the referee, Bryce Remsburg close by the collar making sure that he kicked out at two. Claudio looks to finish things off, trying a Ricola Bomb but Cedric counters into a back elbow sending Double C tumbling through the ropes. Cedric blasts him in back of the head with an enziguri dropping Claudio from the ring apron! Cedric then proceeds to do an incredible flip dive over the ropes onto Castagnoli! The crowd has come alive, believing in Cedric Alexander willing him to the final stretch of the contest. Alexander sends Claudio into the ring, and finally connects with the Overtime for a long two count! Alexander can't believe it as every bone and muscle aches in his body. Alexander looks for the Lumbar Check, but Claudio blocks it with a gut wrench release suplex! Castagnoli murders him with a running European Uppercut! Claudio takes Cedric's head off with a second one before finally planting him into the canvas with a Ricola Bomb for the three count in 18 minutes of unbelievable action!

After the brutal contest, Double C helps Cedric Alexander and shakes his hand before leaving him alone to soak in the respect of the crowd.

Match Four
EGI First Round Match: Mustafa Ali vs. Matt Riddle
[30 Minute Time Limit]

Excalibur calls Mustafa Ali another one of the young bloods of Revolution Wrestling, along with Lio Rush and Cedric Alexander. Those three put on a clinic back at Chapter Six, and since then have been on one incredible rise to success. Graves laughs saying that all three of their respective win/loss records say different. Ali wastes no time attacking Riddle with a running dropkick sending The King of Bros into a corner. Ali with a flurry of forearms rocks the fan favorite. Ali connects with a handspring corner enziguri, blasting Riddle in the side of the head! Ali follows up with a split legged moonsault for a long two count! Riddle crawls under the ropes onto the apron, trying to gain some distance but Ali shows no signs of letting up, sending Riddle flying off the apron to the floor with a springboard dropkick. Ali looks for a flip dive to the outside, but Riddle catches him with an over head belly to belly suplex, tossing Ali into the first three rows! The crowd goes balistic over that spot, chanting "HOLY SHIT" and "EDDIE"! Graves cannot believe the action in the opening minutes of the contest. Riddle rolls Ali into the center of the ring and covers for a long two count, and immediately locks in an Arm Bar. Ali grabs the ropes with his feet immediately. Riddle with a combo of gut wrench suplexes gets him a two count.

Riddle looks for his Fisherman Buster but Mustafa catches him in a small package for a long two count! Riddle unloads with open palm strikes and forearms. Ali ducks a Roaring Forearm, and catches Riddle with a back cracker. Riddle still on his feet gets dumped on his head with a reverse hurricanrana from Ali for a long two count! Riddle pops up to his feet and blasts Ali in the side of the face with a Falling Pele Kick! Ali tumbles back into a corner as Riddle is slow to reach his feet. Riddle dashes at Ali, who launches himself out of the corner catching The King of Bros with a tornado flatliner! Ali climbs up to the top rope, going for his Reverse 450 Splash but Riddle gets his knees up. Riddle immediately locks in the Bro-Mission forcing Mustafa Ali into submission in just over 8 non-stop, action packed minutes!

[INTERMISSION]
Melissa Santos brings us into a quick 20 Minute Intermission. She hypes up the remaining two First Round matches of the evening, Brian Cage will meet EPW Undisputed champion; Pete Dunne. And Seth Rollins goes one on one with Rey Fenix in a Dream Match. She tells everyone to come back tomorrow night for Bryan Danielson's return to Independent wrestling.

Match Five
EGI First Round Match: Brian Cage vs. (EPW Undisputed Champion) Pete Dunne
[30 Minute Time Limit]

Corey Graves makes sure to point out that the size difference between these two shouldn't be a factor, because Pete Dunne is ruthless and can pummel a man down to his size. He's been doing it his entire life. Excalibur says that Pete Dunne is on a quest to make his EPW Undisputed championship, the most prestigious championship in the world. And even though the belt will not be defended throughout this tournament, his performance is representative of that belt and the United Kingdom.

At the sound of the bell, Pete Dunne immediately attacks Brian Cage at the bell. The Bruiserweight takes it to The Machine with a flurry of right before running against the ropes and getting decapitated with a discus lariat! Cage makes a quick cover but only gets a two count. Cage picks up Dunne, who continues throwing punches at his abdomen. Cage tosses the champion into a corner from the center of the ring, and runs into a boot to the face. Dunne leaps off the second rope into the waiting arms of Cage, who slams him down into the canvas with a pop up running power slam for another nearfall. Pete Dunne pulls himself up in a corner, where Cage pummels him with short arm clotheslines. Dunne falls to the canvas in the corner, as Cage transitions into knee strikes into the side of Dunne's head. Cage looks for a running knee, but Dunne avoids it and Cage runs knee first into the corner. Dunne immediately gets to work on the knee with chop blocks and stomps trying to keep his larger opponent grounded.

Dunne keeps close to his injured opponent, like a shark targeting the wound of his prey. Cage tries keeping Dunne away by shoving him with all of his might which sends the Bruiserweight tumbling out of the ring through the ropes. Dunne shakes it off and immediately gets back in and stomps away at the knee of Cage's. Dunne tries a figure four leg lock, but Cage kicks him off sending Dunne into face first into a corner. Cage looks for a school boy for a long two count! Corey is worried about Brian Cage's knee, not recalling having seen The Machine having to ever resort to a roll up in a match up. Dunne with a running boot to the side of Cage's face, rocks him as Dunne sets up for the Bitter End. Cage counters it into a Rain Maker Lariat. Cage refuses to releases the wrist of Dunne's pulling him back up to his feet. Cage goes for his signature stalling suplex, and the referee begins to count along but at the count of six The Machine's injured knee buckles under him. Dunne sneaks out with a small package out of nowhere to pick up the three count in 9 minutes!

After the match, Brian Cage limps to the back with help from a doctor and referee PJ Drummond. Pete Dunne raises his championship above his head, saying he flew over from the United Kingdom to win this whole fucking tournament. The crowd chants "Bruiserweight" as he heads to the back with a pissed off look.

Match Six
EGI First Round Match: Rey Fenix vs. Seth Rollins
[30 Minute Time Limit]

Both Excalibur and Corey Graves agree that this is possibly the most anticipated of the twelve First Round matches taking place. Excalibur calls Seth Rollins a heavy favorite to win the whole tournament this weekend, being the first ever Revolution champion. Graves laughs at the statement, saying it was a reign that last a total of twenty four hours, that accolade won't be winning him any tournaments. Excalibur agrees, but the drive of wanting to taste that moment again is what will drive Seth Rollins in this tournament and his quest of meeting Adam Cole. The bell rings and it takes several minutes for the men to actually lock up, as they soak in the adoration from the crowd. The Chicago crowd is split down the middle duel chanting "LET'S ANIMO" and "LET'S GO ROLLINS", which slowly bleeds into "BOTH THESE GUYS" chants.

After a minute, the two finally lock up in a feeling out process which ends with Rollins looking for his rolling kick to the face. Fenix has it scouted though and rolls back and double stomps Rollins in back of the head. Fenix runs the ropes, and Rollins shoulder bumps him back into the ropes which Fenix grabs onto. Rollins runs at him, but Fenix kicks him in the chest with both his feet which propels him backwards over the top rope onto the ring apron. Fenix then springboard dropkicks Rollins square in the chest and covers for a long two count. Rollins rolls out of the ring, and Fenix looks for a suicide plancha but Rollins cuts him off with a kick to the face from the apron. Fenix hangs in the middle ropes, as Rollins legs drops him in back of the head and covers for a long two count. Rollins takes control with a Michinoku Driver for a long two count on Fenix, who Excalibur says has yet to shake off that kick between the ropes. Graves says that Rollins needs to finish this off quickly.

Rollins looks for his Running Buckle Bomb, but Fenix counters with a hurricanrana sending Rollins face first into the middle turnbuckle. Fenix with a flurry of fast kicks to the face rocks the former Revolution champion. Fenix with a handspring Ace Crusher is followed up with a rolling frog splash for a quick two count. Fenix gets onto the apron, and looks for a double springboard attack but Rollins crotches him in the ropes. Rollins climbs up to the top of a corner, pulling Fenix closer towards him. The two begin to exchange right hands, until Fenix ducks under a right hand by bouncing down to the middle rope and bouncing back up with a Frankensteiner on Seth Rollins! The crowd loses their minds as does Excalibur and Graves on commentary. Fenix slowly makes the cover for the 1...2...KICK OUT! Both men are out of it in the center of the ring, as the crowd gives both men a loud standing ovation.

The referee of the match, Rudy Charles checks on the two men who kip up at the same time. Rollins and Fenix stare one another down until they break out into a hockey fight. They both drop to their knees, as they continue exchanging blows to one another. Rollins rolls backwards onto his feet and superkicks the kneeling Rey Fenix, following up with a standing Shooting Star Press for the 1...2...KICK OUT! The crowd can't believe and neither can Seth Rollins who asks Rudy Charles again that he kicked out before three. Rollins perches himself in the corner, waiting for Fenix to reach his knees. Rollins runs at him, looking for the Curb Stomp but Fenix catches him with a superkick out of nowhere! Rollins is knocked loopy from the kick, and Fenix drops him on his head with a standing hurricanrana! Rollins immediately shakes it off, and connects with a running knee lift on Fenix followed by a Running Buckle Bomb out of nowhere! And again both men are out on their feet as the Chicago crowd continues making noise for both men. Corey calls this a first time ever match that is not disappointing.

Rollins slowly makes his way up to the top rope looking for his Phoenix Splash, but Fenix pops up and blasts Rollins with a stiff shot across the back. This stops Rollins in his tracks as Rey Fenix slowly climbs the same turnbuckle, meeting Rollins up top. Fenix looks for a Spanish Fly, but Rollins blocks it and elbows Rey in back of the head repeatedly. Rollins turns the tide, and superplexes Fenix off the top rope and rolls through and finally plants Rey Fenix into the canvas with a Falcon Arrow that shakes the entire ring! Rollins hooks a leg scoring the 1...2...KICK OUT! Rollins falls to his back, gasping for air, wondering what it's going to take to put Fenix away. Rollins calls for the finish, looking for the V-Trigger, but Fenix catches Rollins with a superkick. Fenix runs against the ropes right into a superkick from Rollins as payback. A God's Gift later gives Rollins an extremely close three count, but Fenix was able to kick out at two.

Excalibur says that there is less than ten minutes remaining with no end in sight. Graves says that if this goes into a Time Limit Draw, then both men will be eliminated from the tournament. Giving somebody a huge advantage as they will receive a bye straight into the Semi-Finals. Excalibur agrees that it would give whoever was scheduled to meet the winner a huge boost, as these Time Limit's in the tournament are extremely strict. Rollins looks for a Running Liger Bomb, but Fenix holds onto the ropes to block it in a corner. Fenix kicks Rollins into the center of the ring and leaps backwards connecting with an Ace Crusher. Fenix rolls through it into a Dragon Sleeper! Half the crowd is chanting for Rollins to tap, as the other half tries willing the first ever champion to life. Rollins begins fighting to his knees, but Fenix decides to relinquish the hold. Fenix buzzsaw kicks him in back of the head, followed by a super kick. A jumping reverse piledriver later finally secures Fenix into the Quarter Finals of the tournament in just under 25 action packed minutes.

Following the match, Rey Fenix slowly reaches his feet to a standing ovation from the Chicago crowd. Rudy Charles raises his arm in victory, as Seth Rollins sits himself up in a corner. He looks dismayed having his quest of winning the tournament and reclaiming his championship coming to an early end in only the First Round. Rollins holds his neck and head, pulling himself to his feet and limping over to the celebrating Fenix who leads the crowd in an "ANIMO" chant. Rollins stops him, and extends his hand for a handshake which Fenix accepts. The two hug it out as Corey Graves says that these two men just stole the entire weekend.

Match Seven
Six Man Tag Team Match: F.I.S.T. (Chuck Taylor, Icarus, & Gran Akuma) vs. Bullet Club (Sami Callihan & The Young Bucks)
[60 Minute Time Limit]

Sexy Chucky T is extremely over with the Chicago crowd this weekend, which shocks commentary and even himself. Chuck is so busy playing to the crowd early, that The Young Bucks take him out immediately with stereo superkicks! Icarus and Akuma attack Nick and Matt Jackson as chaos breaks out immediately in our main event. Sami attacks Akuma from behind, tossing him through the ropes onto the apron and knees him in the face finally sending him to the floor. Icarus continues punching away at Nick Jackson, and Matt tries stopping but eats a flurry of forearms. Icarus goes to run against the ropes, but runs into a big Bicycle Kick from the Revolution Heavyweight champion. Now that Bullet Club has Icarus singled out with Akuma and Chuck laid out on the outside, they turn the match into a standard six man tag team afair.

Nick and Matt work over Icarus with incredible double team moves, which include a Finlay Roll from Matt followed by a flurry of springboard moonsaults onto him. Sami says that it looks like fun, and tags in and immediately climbs to the top rope. He leaps off looking for a moonsault of his own, but Icarus moves out of the way and Callihan crashes and burns belly flopping off the canvas. Icarus finally tags in Chuck Taylor who enters on fire, he takes it the Heavyweight champion with quick jabs to the jaw. Chuck ducks a right hand and connects with an atomic drop, sending Callihan into a corner. Nick enters, looking for a superkick but takes an atomic drop. Matt is pissed, saying this is stupid and misses a super kick and takes a huge atmoic drop sending him flying over the top rope as he screams "I'M SORRY, CORNY"! Chuck is on fire as he clotheslines Nick over the top rope and to the floor. Chuck then turns around into a stiff forearm from Sami that drops him to a knee. Callihan then connects with a running boot to the side of the head. Akuma, the silent assassin of FIST hops onto the ring apron as Sami kicks Taylor into the corner wanting to meet Akuma, who tags in.

Akuma and Callihan have a staredown in the center of the ring, Akuma calm as a monk. Callihan talking shit directly in his face, and before he could finish his sentence, Akuma kicks him in the mouth. Sami tumbles back like a freshly chopped tree, knocked out cold. Akuma covers for the 1...2...NICK AND MATT BREAK THE COUNT! Nick and Matt attack Akuma, who rolls under a double clothesline attempt as Icarus comes flying off the top rope with a double missile dropkick! Icarus then sacrifices himself with a running cross body on Nick Jackson over the top rope! Matt attacks Akuma from behind, and irish whips him towards the ropes, but Akuma front flips over them taking out Nick on the outside. Matt psyches him out on a dive, landing on the apron and superkicking him in the face. Matt then connects with an Asai Moonsault onto Icarus and Akuma on the floor! Chuck Taylor enters the ring, and climbs to the top rope, diving off with a tope' suicida' onto the Bucks and FIST to a huge pop!

There's a pile of bodies on the outside, as Sami Callihan finally wakes up from the KO Kick from Akuma. Sami wonders where everyone is, and see's the pile of the deceased on the outside. Sami looks for a tope but eats a kick to the face from Akuma, getting cut off. Akuma with a snap suplex, and Sami pulls himself up in a corner. Akuma looks for a handspring corner enziguri but Sami ducks it and stomps Akuma's face into the canvas! Taylor enters with a lucha arm drag, leaping off the top rope on Callihan. Sami pops right back up, as Chuck ducks under a lariat and dumps Sami on his head with the Awful Waffle! Chuck covers for the 1...2...BUCKS BREAK UP THE COUNT WITH A DOUBLE SUPERKICK! Icarus enters connecting a running corner forearm on Matt, looking for a running bulldog out of the corner but Matt shoves him into a superkick from his brother Nick! Nick immediately handsprings back, grabbing Akuma around the neck with his feet from the apron. This allows Sami to boot him in the face, and Matt superkicking Akuma in the face! The Bucks then connect with the More Bang For Your Buck on Icarus for the 1...2...CHUCKY T BREAKS THE COVER!

Chuck makes a Hulk Hogan like comeback, hulking up as he eats four superkicks from Nick and Matt Jackson! Taylor eventually unloads with clotheslines on the Bucks, and sends Callihan to the outside with a Sole Food. Taylor boots Matt to the canvas, and sit out face plants Nick Jackson onto him, and makes the cover for a two count. Taylor connects with a running dive over the corner turnbuckle, taking out Sami Callihan on the outside! Akuma and Icarus enter and take it to Matt Jackson with a flurry of quick double team moves. Nick eventually low bridges Aukma to the outside, as Matt immediately dives to the floor onto him. Nick rolls through a neckbreaker attempt and superkicks Icarus several times, until he finally drops. Matt with a springboard 450 from the apron! The Young Bucks make the cover, as Chuck tries rolling into the ring to break the count but Sami grabs him by the tights forcing him to watch PJ Drummond count the three!

After the match, The Bullet Club continue their beat down on F.I.S.T. Callihan demands a microphone and calls this whole tournament bullshit, and meaningless. And it's all because of him. He says that this tournament is a fucking joke without the best wrestler on the fucking planet today. Sami raises the championship, declaring that person being him. He says that he pulled out of the tournament because he knows it, Excalibur and Corey Graves knows it, the fans know, Gabe Sapolsky and everyone associated with this fucking company knows he's THE FUCKING BEST! And this championship proves it. Sami says that nobody on this planet can stop the Bullet Club, because they are the draw and they got the gold!

All of a sudden, EPW Undisputed champion, Pete Dunne comes out to a thunderous ovation from the crowd. Dunne in a suit, holds the championship belt over his shoulder. The Bruiserweight stares down a furious Sami Callihan, who can't believe that he's been cut off by this disrespectful little shit. Dunne takes the microphone and tells Sami that he must not have heard him earlier, because he's the best fucking champion on the planet. And is carrying the most prestigious championship in the world right now. Excalibur says that the tension between these two respective champions is unbelievable. Graves says that we might get a preview of tomorrow nights scheduled Six Man Tag Team Match right now.

Sami goes to walk away, but instead looks for a cheap shot swinging his championship at Pete Dunne. The Bruiserweight however saw it coming and ducks under it and stiffs Sami with a vicious elbow. Callihan goes rolling out of the ring to the already retreating Young Bucks. Sami crawls halfway under the ring to grab his belt, but Dunne stops him by stepping on the strap of the championship title. Callihan is even more furious and hops up onto the ring apron and immediately eats another stiff forearm sending him back to the outside. Dunne picks up the Revolution Heavyweight championship, and poses with it along with his EPW Undisputed title to close out the show to a thunderous ovation from the crowd.

- Doesn't get much more emotional than Gargano/LaRae. Fair play for the bold move of having her go over.

- Good performance from Juice Robinson despite the defeat. I hear he is doing great things in New Japan irl.

- Castagnoli/Alexander was a hell of an encounter. They really went in hard on each other.

- Happy that Matt Riddle picked up the win over Mustafa Ali. A firm favourite to win the whole thing.

- Great to see EPW represented in a strong way via Pete Dunne. You did a great job reflecting The Bruiserweight's style.

- Oh wow. Did not see Seth Rollins bowing out in this round. He was definitely a favourite to win.

- The main event was all kinds of fun. The finish was AWESOME but i'm kinda biased. ;)

Interesting ruling by Sapolsky about the no interference rule. Sure it would mean removal from the tournament, but can a suspension on an outside, say Chuck Taylor for example, be enforced if Team FIST decided to get involved? Not that he would need their help, but some might not feel too threatened by that. At least the boss is looking to have some sense of order.

Candice LeRae with the upset of the tournament thus far. Nothing against Johnny G, but I doubt think anyone honestly has Candice in their office/bar pool to go all the way. Good effort by them both though.

Can't say I know much about either man in the second bout, but both of them brought it that's for sure.

No surprise with Claudio's advancement. Nothing for Cedric to be ashamed of though.

How many bodies did Ali take out, or did they let him fall? Valid question, but I bet that would be a sick spot to witness live. Being up close for that would be worth the price of admission right there.

I kinda knew the result going into it, but Brian Cage made Dunne earn his pay tonight. Hopefully Brian can bounce back from the loss.

Gotta love when fans from difference sides can come together as they did at the start of Fenix/Rollins.

Even though they came up with the L, Team FIST hung in there with the club. Would things have been different if Chuck Taylor's g/f Emma Matthews was present? Hard to say for sure, but I'm sure they'll find a way to recover from the loss...and the post-bell beat down. Would have loved to see Dunne take out Sami and the Bucks of Youth, but I guess that will have to wait for another day...though it just hit me, it seems everywhere they've been as of late the opposition has had their number. Will their luck change on night two?
