RELOADED MATCH #1: Ilja Dragunov, JT Dunn and Ryan Smile defeated The C.C.K and El Ligero via pinfall after Ligero walked off to the back when Lykos reached out for a tag leading to Dunn nailing The Dirty Wolf with the Tombstone Piledriver for the three count. RELOADED MATCH #2: Madison Eagles (with Travis Banks) defeated Millie McKenzie via pinfall in the 1st Round of the Klondyke Kate Classic Tournament with the Hellbound. Her stablemate Travis Banks repeatedly interfered on her behalf every time the referee had her back turned. RELOADED MATCH #3: Xia Brookside defeated Sumie Sakai via pinfall in the 1st Round of the Klondyke Kate Classic Tournament with the Iconoclasm. After the bout ended, the two had a face off in the middle of the ring which ended with the Japanese veteran shaking the winner's hand. EPW Live #111 Once Reloaded wraps up, a video recap of last week's three hour special opens the main broadcast featuring highlights of the matches. Viper retained her EPW British Women's Championship in a Triple Threat Main Event and Pete Dunne defeated Joe Hendry to continue his reign as the EPW World Undisputed Champion. Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness are at ringside joined by their newest broadcast colleague and a familiar face to English Pro Wrestling fans; Alex Shane. The Showstealer appears excited at the prospect of joining the team. Ranallo then quickly thanks the fans in Wales, Ireland and Scotland for the overwhelming response during the two month tour and promises they will return very soon. McGuinness moves the focus on tonight's action. As of now we only have one match scheduled on the card. The Glaswegian Assembly won the EPW British Tag Team Championships last week in front of their home town fans however The Sanguinary challenged them to a rematch over social media the following day which the new champs were happy to accept. William Regal walks out on to the stage to a chorus of boos. The crowd in Sunderland are not fond of the evil authority figure. Alongside him is new #1 contender Sha Samuels. The East End Butcher watches on as the commissioner demands respect and some hush from the fans. They react angrily. Regal continues anyway announcing that the Battle For The Briefcase will return next month with six competitors battling for a shot at the EPW World Undisputed Champion in a ladder match. We will determine the entrants in to the match in a series of qualifying matches right here tonight. It is also revealed that Sha Samuels will take his shot at the gold in four weeks' time. The loudmouth brawler from London takes his opportunity to warn current champion Pete Dunne to keep the belt warm for him because he intends on taking it from him in the most brutal fashion possible. Zack Sabre Jr. & Will Ospreay vs. The Aussie Open Last week we saw Australasian Strong Style come down to the ring and complain about their exclusion from last week's three hour special. Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. soon had enough of their complaining and came down to overcome the odds and clean house to the delight of the fans in Glasgow. Tonight the issue is settled in the ring with more than bragging rights at stake. This is the first qualifying match for the Battle For The Briefcase with both winners earning a spot each in the ladder match. The heels do a fantastic job off the bat of isolating Ospreay in their corner for the early advantage. Both men have the opportunity to break out as a singles star much like their leader Travis Banks tried to do last year off the back of his Battle For The Briefcase victory. They will have to work as a unit tonight though to ensure qualification in to the match. The Australian born duo get the first two count with a Deadly Devastation. Kyle Fletcher climbs up top for a Doomsday Missile Dropkick whilst Mark Davis holds him up in an Electric Chair position. Ospreay manages to counter in to a Hurricanrana. He sends Fletcher out to ringside with a Running Dropkick and blasts Davis in the skull with a Handspring Enzuiguri for two. Sabre Jr. gets a tag in. The submission specialist from Kent takes control of the bout. He soon locks on the Jim Breaks Special. His opponent yells out in pain looking for an escape route. Eventually Fletcher breaks it but is immediately dropped with a European Uppercut. The Aussie Arrow sits up. The Technical Wizard proceeds to blast him with a Penalty Kick. As he turns his attention back to the legal man, The Dunkzilla clocks him with a Spinning Backfist, a Discus Elbow and a Sidewinder Suplex. Mark Davis has pulled the momentum back for his team. He attempts to score the Pop-Up Powerbomb on the rebound however on the way down, Sabre Jr. counters in to the Cross Armbreaker. Fletcher rushes in to save his partner. Ospreay gets to him first and executes the Oscutter. Davis has no other alternative but to tap. The bell is rung. Zack Sabre Jr. & Will Ospreay book themselves in to the Battle For The Briefcase. They celebrate in to the break. The fans in Sunderland shower them with cheers. Jennifer Louise is standing by in the back for an interview with EPW British Junior Champion Josh Bodom. A replay is shown of him losing his match last week via DQ after executing a Low Blow whilst Noam Dar attempted to lock on the Champagne Super Kneebar. The Blonde Bomber appears smug about his actions however is informed by the interviewer that the man he screw over will get a rematch for the gold at next week's show in Leeds. The cocky champion doesn't look happy about this announcement one bit. He declares that he did what he had to do to keep hold of the belt and claims that Noam Dar would have done the same thing had the situation arisen. Finally the arrogant rule breaker brands his upcoming challenger a mediocre joker before calling himself the next generation personified. Jack Gallagher vs. Jordan Devlin This rivalry began just last week during the Six Man Elimination Match when Jack Gallagher eliminated newcomer Jordan Devlin via pinfall. Later on that night, Gallagher challenged Devlin to a one-on-one match during a backstage segment to settle their different which led to tonight's bout being booked with the added stipulation of the winner earning themselves a spot in the Battle For The Briefcase. The heel from the Republic of Ireland is tenacious in the opening minutes. He knows that his opponent is well versed when it comes to technical wrestling so does his best to keep things as rough as possible. The aggressor executes an Arm Wrench Takedown, a Vertical Suplex, a Double Foot Stomp and a Slingshot Corkscrew Crossbody for an early near fall. Devlin then delivers several stiff chops. Gallagher responds with some even stiffer chops followed by a Headbutt to turn the tables. As Devlin stumbles up, he is sent spinning with an Airplane Spin transitioned in to a Spinning Backbreaker. The momentum carries on as he locks on a Surfboard Stretch. The crowd really get behind the babyface however they are deflated when Devlin avoids the Gentlemen's Dropkick and drills The Extraordinary Gentleman with a Superkick. The cocky heel takes some time to yell down to some rowdy fans in the front row. He awaits Gallagher to stand and attempts the Package Piledriver. Gallagher powers out in to a Back Body Drop though. The former champ applies a Straight Jacket Backbreaker Hold. Devlin manages to push himself up and over keeping Gallagher's shoulders down on the mat. The referee counts three but doesn't realise the feet are on the ropes for extra leverage. Jordan Devlin qualifies for Battle For The Briefcase. He doesn't hang around and leaves the ring right after the bell with a huge grin on his face. As he reaches the stage, he turns back round to pose to the crowd and take in the boos. Viper has been summoned to the office of the general manager of the women's division Sweet Saraya who congratulates her on her victory last week. She even goes as far as to calling it the best female match in English Pro Wrestling history and arguably the finest female contest on European soil. The champion is humbled by the praise. Saraya hopes that The Vixen Of Violence was watching the Klondyke Kate Classic Tournament matches earlier on Reloaded because the future of the division lies right there. Viper says that she knows there's some great talent coming through the ranks however doesn't intend on dropping the gold any time soon. That's the fighting spirit our general manager wants. As the champ leaves the office and closes the door, she is floored across the back of the skull with a lead pipe. Standing over her is Nikki Cross with a deranged look in her eyes. The Queen Of Chaos squeezes down on the throat of Viper with the foreign object whilst yelling 'you never pinned me or made me submit' over and over. This is technically true but Viper won last week's match fair and square. Saraya hears this commotion and charges out of her office. Security rush to the scene. Nikki Cross chooses to back off but expresses that she is far from done with the reigning champ. Drew Galloway vs. Joe Hendry This is our third Battle For The Briefcase qualifying match of the night. Both of these competitors had the opportunity to win gold last week but were equally unsuccessful. Drew Galloway challenged Nick Aldis for the EPW British Atlas Championship where a lapse in concentration by The Celtic Colossus caused for him to be rolled up in to a Small Package for a three count. Joe Hendry attempted to beat Pete Dunne for the EPW World Undisputed Championship however fended off interference by The Corporate Entourage and repeated rule breaking to retain the belt. Galloway uses his size advantage to dominate the early stages. He delivers a Running Big Boot, a Tilt-A-Whirl Backbreaker and a Belly-To-Belly Suplex in the opening minutes to utilise his strength. As he charges forward for the Claymore, Hendry turns the tables with a Scoop Powerslam to turn the tables. The accomplished freestyle wrestler from Edinburgh stomps a mud hole in to his fellow Scotsman before nailing him with a Commonwealth Clothesline. He tears the turnbuckle pad off to expose the steel whilst the referee attends to his opponent. The Prestigious One then tries to slingshot Galloway in to the exposed steel however the heavyweight from Ayr blocks it and responds with a Lifting Sitout Spinebuster on the rebound. The fans are up on their feet. Hendry is up to his feet in a dangerous position. The Celtic Colossus drops him with the Future Shock DDT for the three. Drew Galloway has secured his spot in the Battle For The Briefcase. He will get his opportunity to climb the ladder of opportunity in four weeks. As his music plays, he has his arm raised and takes to the ropes to salute the cheering crowd. We return from the break where Chris Brookes has approached El Ligero looking frustrated after what went down during the Six Man Tag Team Match on Reloaded. The Masked Sensation refuses to look up at him as he packs his bag ready to leave the arena. Eventually Brookes pulls Ligero up by the horn on his mask demanding to know why he walked out on him and Kid Lykos earlier on. Ligero shoves him back however is still mute. He slings his bag over his shoulder with his head down and leaves the locker room without saying a single word. Chris Brookes is left shaking his head in disappointment. Travis Banks vs. Trent Seven Yet another qualifying match for entry to the Battle For The Briefcase. Travis Banks has lots to prove after winning last year's high stakes ladder match however losing the briefcase in a singles match with Mark Haskins soon after who went on to cash in and win the title. The Kiwi Buzzsaw has since turned heel and formed the Australasian Strong Style faction. The commentary team question whether his new cut throat attitude could lead to him winning the briefcase but this time winning the EPW World Undisputed Championship. He looks focused on the task at hand. The start of the match sees both men trading stiff strikes. Chops, forearms and shoot kicks are thrown by each party making the crowd wince each time a man strikes. Banks is warned by the referee after raking the eyes of his opponent to get the first clear cut advantage. He follows up with a Scoop Slam and a Running Knee Drop for a one count. His opponent still has much more in him. Seven wriggles free from a Scoop Slam and nails a Snap Back Suplex. The Bombardier Of Battery locks on a Single Leg Crab. His opponent slowly crawls to the bottom rope and gets the break. He gets ready for his trademark Seven Stars Lariat. As he throws it, Banks ducks and delivers several shoot kicks followed by a Superkick for two. The Kiwi Buzzsaw is looking tenacious. He yells at his grounded opponent before dropping him with a Running Double Foot Stomp. The match rolls on with him in control. Trent Seven responds with a come back late on leading to a Bridging Dragon Suplex for a near fall. He attempts the Burning Hammer. Just before Trent can drop him, Travis Banks escapes and lands on his feet. He springs out of the corner to clock Seven with the Slice Of Heaven. As his opponent staggers, the leader of Australasian Strong Style applies the Lion's Clutch in the middle of the ring. He pulls back with no remorse. Trent Seven is forced to submit. Travis Banks is in the Battle For The Briefcase. The Kiwi Buzzsaw releases the hold and yells out a huge battle cry as the crowd boo. His arm is raised in victory by official Chris Roberts. The winner shows the ultimate disrespect to his adversary by stomping over his chest on the way out. After Banks leaves, Seven is left in the ring with his head down. The referee tries to help him up but he wants no part of it. He hasn't had the best of luck for a while lately and things don't look set to change after this loss. That is until 'Inaugural' by CFO$ plays over the arena speakers to a huge pop. Out from the back walks Tyler Bate who has finally returned from injury. The Iron Master was sidelined after being attacked in the backstage area however he looks good as new as he steps in to the ring. He offers his hand to his tag team partner and best friend who accepts it. The duo hug to a big cheer in a great feel good moment. Moustache Mountain are back in business. Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness and Alex Shane talk us through some highlights of the 1st round matches in the Klondyke Kate Classic earlier on Reloaded. Madison Eagles picked up a win over Millie McKenzie and Xia Brookside was victorious against Sumie Sakai. Once they are done, Jinny Couture appears on the stage with Laura Di Matteo. The Million Pound Woman is sporting a scowl and has a microphone in hand. She begins complaining over the jeers from the fans about having her spot in the Klondyke Kate Classic 'stolen' from her by Millie McKenzie. Couture demands respect from the crowd but isn't getting it. This only angers her even more. She finishes by declaring that she will earn her rightful place at the top of the women's division whether Sweet Saraya likes it or not. A strong statement by the most hated woman in the company. Her stock might not be high right now but she sure looks hell bent on changing that. Nick Aldis vs. Zack Gibson This will be the final qualifying match for the Battle For The Briefcase with Zack Sabre Jr., Will Ospreay, Jordan Devlin, Drew Galloway and Travis Banks already earning themselves their spots. Zack Gibson walks out to the nuclear heat he has become accustomed to. Liverpool's Number One claims that if he weighed a few pounds more then he would challenge, beat and humiliate his opponent for his title belt tonight. Nick Aldis eventually has enough after nearly five minutes of rambling by his opponent. The EPW British Atlas Champion immediately wipes out the loudmouth grappler with a Running Clothesline, a Jumping Back Elbow and a Spear. This leads to Gibson rolling out to ringside for a breather. Aldis follows him and a chase begins. The wiley heel turns the tables with a Baseball Slide. They get back in the ring and Gibson stomps on the champ. He then attempts to deliver the Helter Skelter Brainbuster. It proves too early to attempt such a move. The National Treasure counters in to a Running Knee to send him in to the turnbuckles. As Gibson staggers out, Aldis drops him with a Delayed Vertical Suplex for two. The fans are well behind the champion. He is in fill control. Even if this was a title match the commentary team all agree that a title change doesn't look likely. Aldis has climbed to the top rope for a Diving Elbow Drop. Gibson manages to move at the last minute to avoid the move. He immediately tries to lock on the Shankley Gates. The champ pushes him away, picks him up and then drops his opponent with the Tormentum. The leg is hooked. The referee counts three. Nick Aldis gets the last spot in the Battle For The Briefcase. The EPW British Atlas Champion made a statement tonight with a convincing victory. He takes to the turnbuckles to celebrate and takes in the crowd reaction. A graphic shows on the screen of the competitors who will take part in the upcoming high stakes ladder match in Manchester. The National Treasure sure looks a front runner after that performance. The fans go nuts when 'Bruiserweight' by CFO$ blares over the arena speakers. Out walks Pete Dunne with the strap of his belt hanging in between his teeth. He is out here to address the fans following his big win last week and to speak on his next challenger Sha Samuels. The Bruiserweight tells us that he was watching Sha Samuels flapping his gums in the opening segment about how he is gonna take the title and it made him absolutely sick. Dunne speaks on how he is quite frankly fed up and bored of beating the hell out of William Regal's small fry, second rate, ass kissing stooges. He believes that he holds the most prestigious piece of gold in the world and wants some real competition. The champ doesn't think he's getting the best challengers in the country let alone the world. The fans seem to agree. Everybody's attention is directed to the video screen when Joan Jett's 'Do You Want To Touch Me' is heard. David Starr walks through the curtain to a standing ovation. He slowly walks to each side of the stage nodding his head whilst looking over the fans in Sunderland with a smile. Mauro Ranallo states that we had heard rumblings online that he had signed a full-time deal with a major company however we are shocked to see him join the English Pro Wrestling roster. As he walks down the aisle high fiving fans, a breaking news ticker tape rolls at the bottom of the screen confirming that David Starr has signed for EPW. He introduces himself to the crowd with his trademark multiple nicknames which include The Cream In Your Coffee, Your Favourite Wrestler's Favourite Wrestler, The Jewish Cannon, The Physical Embodiment Of Charisma, The Most Entertaining Man In Pro Wrestling, The Bernie Sanders Of Pro Wrestling, The Best Of The Best, Mr. Americana, Davey Wrestling, The 104 Minute Man, The Main Event, He's Really Good At Twitter, The King Of Taunts and The Product. Pete Dunne watches on with a scowl until David Starr turns around and says that the belt that he holds does make him the best in the world which he respects and if The Bruiserweight wants 'real competition' then that just arrived. The crowd go nuts over the prospect of a match between these two. As the champ goes to accept a handshake, 'Regality' by Jim Johnston plays. William Regal walks out on to the stage for the second time tonight and objects to this match taking place. Instead, next week, we will see a Handicap Match with Pete Dunne, David Starr and the boss's former ally Keith Lee teaming up to face every single member of Regal's corporate faction. The commissioner leaves having dropped a bomb shell ahead of next week. EPW British Tag Team Championships The Glaswegian Assembly (c) vs. The Sanguinary (with Bram) Joe Coffey and Wolfgang finally won gold last week in their home city when they defeated Mark Haskins and Jimmy Havoc for the EPW British Tag Team Championships. The day after The Sanguinary took to Twitter to inform the new champions that they wanted a rematch as soon as possible to which The Glaswegian Assembly both agreed and urged the powers that be to book the match for this week's episode. Other teams have expressed their happiness at the Scottish heavyweights finally reaching the top of the division. The popularity of the babyfaces has carried over back from Scotland to the north of England. They use their power to dominate the early stages. Haskins is sent spinning around with the Big Swing by Coffey early on. The Iron Man tries to lock on the No Mercy Crab however the wiley ex-champion escapes and tags out to his partner. Havoc falls victim to a Running Clothesline, a Corner Splash and a Bridging German Suplex for two. Wolfgang enters to a big howl from the audience. The rough brawler from Glasgow delivers an Atomic Drop, the Wasteland and then takes to the ropes to attempt a Diving Moonsault. Bram quickly reacts by climbing up on to the apron for the distraction. As he tries to get hold of The Regulator, the referee spots the interference and immediately ejects him from the ringside area. The heavyweight from Chesterfield argues but it isn't going to get him anywhere. He angrily stomps to the back arguing with fans in the front row on the way. Meanwhile in the ring, the distraction was enough to allow Jimmy Havoc to send Wolfgang down from the top rope with an Avalanche Frankensteiner. The tables have been turned. The heels now take their chance to gain some momentum with repeated tags in and out and isolation tactics. Mark Haskins delivers a Tornado DDT transitioning in to his finisher; the Low Sharpshooter. Joe Coffey tries to get in to break the hold. The official does his job and stops him however Jimmy Havoc sneaks in to begin stomping at the right knee of the legal man. Eventually Wolfgang gets to the rope. The damage is done though. Haskins repeatedly stomps at the knee to really aggravate the injury. The Hellbent Anti-Hero even applies a Stretch Muffler before wrapping his opponent around the ring post for a Figure Four Leg Lock. Wolfgang is in pain. He does forge a comeback though and knocks the ex-champ down with a Running Clothesline. Joe Coffey gets the tag in. The Iron Man knocks both of his partners down with a Clothesline, a Running Powerslam and the Big Swing each. He begins to swing his arm back with the Discus Lariat in mind. Whilst he waits for Havoc to stand, Haskins distracts the referee at the other side of the ring by faking an ankle injury. The referee is distracted and suddenly Joe Coffey has powder thrown in his face by Vicky Haskins. The commentary team wonder where she even came from. She flees the ring quicker than she appeared. This gives Havoc time to nail Coffey with a Step-Up Enzuiguri which leads immediately in to the Cradle To The Grave by Mark Haskins. He holds on for the pinfall. Wolfgang is clutching at his injured knee on the outside. The official reaches three. The Sanguinary steal the victory and rob back the EPW British Tag Team Championships. Haskins and Havoc snatch the belts from the official. As we look back at the replay, Vicky Haskins came from under the ring for the interference which led to the finish. The newly crowned champs walk up the aisle where they are greeted by Bram and you guessed it; Vicky Haskins. The foursome once again are on top of the tag team division. The closing image of tonight's show is the group celebrating on the stage whilst the crowd boo. Meanwhile, Coffey is down in the ring and medics check on the injured Wolfgang. |

Good use of RELOADED by including the tournament in its lineup. Nothing against Brookside going over, but it would have been nice to see Sakai start of the tournament on a winning note. While this doesn't mean she's eliminated given the format, a good record and help put over the eventually winner would be a successful tour of duty for her, but hey, she's going. Glad to see the return of the battle for the briefcase. Money in the Bank, Golden Ticket, Battle for the Briefcase, heard an indy promotion have a similar thing on an event called Rags to Riches, call it whatever you want, but so many possibilities can come from a gimmick like that. It'll be interesting to see what direction you go. Having a tag match act a qualifier is a good move. Surprised to see Gallagher fall to Devlin, I'd call that the upset of the night (and the qualification process) so far. Seven might not have qualified, but on the bright it appears that he's back in the tag title hunt. Jinny's talking a big game, but soon she'll have to back it up. If they were to fight next week, I'd give her three minutes against Viper, but only because Viper would be generious to let it last that long. Aldis advancing poses some questions, such as will his current title reign end up working against him before competing for the briefcase, or take one step further and play a part in when he may cash in if he won and was still in possession of the belt? It's anyone's match, but there's a lot of pressure on him. Vicky Haskins was the difference maker here. While nothing can be done it about it now, wouldn't mind seeing her getting a taste of her own medicine. |
