Riverview Episode #0141 OAD: 7/22/2013 (Scene 1: New York City Hospital) (Melanie is sitting in a bed and Jake’s in the waiting room when David arrives) Jake: David, what are you doing here? David: I was consulting on a case and I saw Melanie arrive on a stretcher, so I operated. Jake: How is she? David: It was a touch and go. The bullet was VERY close to her heart. She’s a lucky girl. She was OK, we removed the bullet and all of her arteries are fine. She broke three ribs from the impact and probably the fall. Right now she’s in a coma. It’s just due to the trauma, we don’t expect it to last longer than a week. Jake: A week!? David: It could be a couple of hours, several days, maybe even 2 weeks. Trauma coma’s are harder to pinpoint an exact time table. She will wake up there’s no need to worry about that, it just may take some time for her body to let her. Jake: Thanks doc. (Jake pats David on the back as he walks away. Jake looks in on Melanie in the bed.) (Scene 2: Francis Enterprises) (William and Marie are sitting at a table talking about Riverside) Marie: Riverside was Riverview’s fine dining establishment. We need to get back to that concept. William: You think so? Marie: Absolutely. There’s nothing like it in town. Recovery Room is a pub, people don’t want sit down meals there. We don’t offer anything more than a sandwich anyway. William: You’re right. (William and Marie smile at each other when Jessica enters William’s office and is caught off guard by Marie, Marie and William are equally caught off guard by Jessica’s arrive and the threesome stares back and forth at each other.) (Scene 3: Riverview Police Station) (Clark arrives at Nancy’s cell and Nancy’s back’s to Clark as she’s getting ready for the day in her sink.) Clark: What’s up Nancy? The guard said you asked to see me? (Nancy turns around and it’s a different version of Nancy.) Natalie: Nancy’s gone, it’s me, Natalie. (Clark’s jaw drops) Clark: Natalie, welcome back. Natalie: What the hell am I doing here? Clark: You, or possibly Nancy murdered Andrew Bard. Natalie: What!? You are buying that planted evidence in my apartment!? Clark: There were no other prints on the murder weapon, just yours. Frankly, Natalie, Nancy changed the whole story for us. Natalie: And why’s that? Clark: How do you know that Nancy didn’t kill Andrew Bard? (Natalie gives Clark an uneasy look) (Scene 4: New York City Hospital) (Jake is looking in on Melanie when Terrance arrives in the waiting room) Terrance: Jake. (Jake turns and sees Terrance) Jake: What are you doing here? Terrance: Amanda moved back and I was here for the weekend to help her move and I heard about the shooting. Jake: Well this is out of your jurisdiction. Terrance: Thanks for your concern, but I’m still an employee in New York City, they use me when I’m in town. Now, why don’t you let me be the one to ask the questions? Jake: Melanie’s OK by the way Terrance. In case you were concerned about your ex-fiance. Terrance: I talked to her doctor first, I’m aware of her condition, now I want to know how she ended up here. (Jake flashes back to Melanie identifying Mark as her father and then looks at Melanie in the bed.) Jake: I don’t know who it was but when we came back from the Phantom of the Opera there was someone robbing us. Terrance: Armed? Jake: Well, as you can see the answer to that question is yes. Terrance: What do you have at that apartment that someone would want to steal so badly? Jake: I don’t know Terrance, I haven’t been in the apartment for over a year. Terrance: Why were you in New York City? Jake: To file for divorce from Ann. (Terrance’s jaw drops slightly) Terrance: You and Melanie aren’t? Are you planning to get married? Jake: As soon as the ink’s dry on my divorce papers. Terrance: Let’s hope she shows up to this one. (Terrance leaves the waiting room as Jake tilts his head back) Jake: I need to find that son of a bitch Mark. (Jake leaves the hospital) (Scene 5: Francis Enterprises) Jessica: Marie, surprised to see you here. William: Jessica, Marie and I are working on some ideas for Riverside. Jessica: Riverside? I thought Ron was managing that? William: Well you’ve seen what that’s amounted to. A strip club. Jessica: So Marie is going to manage both and have a baby? Busy lady, but then again she does get around. (Marie fakes a smile at Jessica’s smart remark) William: I hired Marie as a consultant. Jessica: Oh, you must’ve left that out of conversation with your wife. (Jessica fakes a chuckle) Marie: Well some things never change. Jessica still expects her husband to keep her up to date at all times. William: Jessica, honey, why are you here? Jessica: I came by to finalize the menu for the dinner party that you want to have. William: Could we maybe do that tonight? I’ve got lots of meetings all day. Jessica: Of course. (Jessica starts to leave but stops and turns to Marie) Jessica: How is The Recovery Room doing Marie? Marie: It’s fabulous Jessica thanks for asking. Jessica: I keep meaning to stop in but I’m just always over dressed. Maybe the next time I’m out jogging I’ll stop by. Marie: I wont hold my breath for that. (Jessica smiles as she walks out) Jessica: That’s unfortunate. (Jessica leaves as William clears his throat) William: Ok, back to work. (Marie smiles as she realizes that William is keeping her a secret from Jessica again.) (Scene 6: Riverview Police Station) Natalie: So what’s the charge? Clark: Aggravated Murder. Natalie: Did Nancy get a lawyer? Clark: Yeah. Natalie: Who is it? Clark: You. (Natalie rolls her eyes and looks at Clark) Natalie: Of course she did. When’s the trial? Clark: Wednesday. Natalie: Wednesday?! Clark: Yes. Natalie: Shit, there’s no time for me to get a lawyer. Clark: You don’t want to represent yourself? Natalie: No, Clark. I have no idea if I did this crime or not. Clark: Well I figured you’d use innocent as a result of mental illness. Natalie: Of course I am but what if Nancy emerges when I’m on the stand? Clark: Well, that will just prove your point. Natalie: I’m not worried about proving my point Clark, I’m worried about not spending the rest of my life in prison! Clark: Natalie, Terrance is off and I really have a lot of work to do, could we talk about this later? Natalie: Yes. I have lots of law books to read up on anyway right now. (Clark leaves as Natalie sits on her cot and wonders what she’s going to do next) |
