(TWO WEEKS LATER)

James walks into the Jackson house and sees his parents with his little baby brother Samuel Jr. Samuel and Laura ask their son how he’s been. James explains to his parents how he’s been keeping himself busy with working at Kmart and school work has drained him. Laura tells her son how it will be worth it someday. James asks his mom how she’s doing. She tells her son how she’s still trying to heal after the accident, but she grows stronger everyday. James admits how he still feels guilty. Samuel assures James how that was the Turays fault the car accident happened. He adds how thankful he is that they don’t need to deal with the family anymore. James is glad that he has God, his family, and Suzie. Once James walks away, Laura is surprised how James’ relationship with Suzie has lasted this long. Samuel tells his wife that he doesn’t expect the relationship to even last long. Whenever a Christian’s dating an unbeliever, things never go well. Laura hates how her son will be hurt in the process. Samuel tells his wife how their son will have to learn this lesson on his own.

Tanya is on her laptop at the apartment she shares with Viki and Suzie. Once she hears the doorbell and opens it, she sees Carter. She asks her ex-boyfriend what she wants. Carter expresses how tired he got of her not answering his calls. Tanya tells him how she just needs to change her number. She also asks him how he even remembered her number. He reminds her how they loved each other. Tanya tells Carter not to lie. If he loved her, it would’ve never crossed his mind to sleep with her cousin Tasha. Carter’s heard enough of her bringing up his mistakes. She asks him why he’s at her apartment. Carter asks her if she really hates him that much. Tanya tells him to go. He won’t leave until she answers his question. Paul’s anger towards Carter is understandable, but he brings up how Tasha’s her family and how Tanya and him genuinely cared about each other. She says that he’s right. The comment causes Carter to ask his question again and he won’t leave until he gets his answer. Tanya loses it, then tells Carter how she still loved him and hates the fact how her own cousin took her place and had his child. Ever since they were together, she truly believed they would get married and have kids someday. Soon after Tasha found out her plans, she finally admitted how it would never happen. Carter apologizes, then Tanya tells him to leave. Once he does, Tanya breaks down in tears.

After Hector and Eva watch a movie at the theaters, they arrive at Deja and Luis’ house. Deja’s glad to have them over. Luis asks them how the movie was. Both Eva and Hector express how they can’t wait to own it on DVD someday. When all four of them have dinner, Hector wants to know if he can ask Deja something. Deja says he’s welcomed to. Hector asks how she handled growing up with Daniel. Luis tells Hector how it might be best to change the subject. Hector quickly apologizes. Deja says it’s okay. She informs Hector how she and Daniel never grew up together. They only found out they had the same father a few years ago. Hector asks how Daniel reacted. For a while, Daniel couldn’t stand Deja, but she grew on him and he grew on her. Ever since, they’ve treated each other like they did grow up together. Eva doesn’t want to hear the man’s name. All she wants is a nice dinner with friends.

Daniel visits Alexa in her office at Ruthless. She asks her father what he’s doing there. He expresses how he hasn’t seen her in a while. Alexa tells her how she wanted to keep it that way. Daniel questions if she’ll try to avoid him forever. In her mind, it wouldn’t be too bad at all. Daniel doesn’t believe she means it. Alexa reminds him how she’s a Johnson. Which means she always says what she means. Daniel pleads with her to give him another chance. Alexa explains how she’s given him chances longer than her age. She doesn’t want to waste her life being hurt by him anymore. Daniel expresses how he misses his complete family. Things were great when it was just him, Alexa, and Tina. Alexa adds Samantha as well. Since there’s a big portrait of Samantha in the mansion, he still has his ex wife. But by the end of the day, his idea of a perfect family has been a figment of his imagination. Alexa kindly asks her father to leave. Daniel agrees, but as he does, he vows to get back Eva and Alexa to make his family complete.
