You could say, I'm the biggest nobody of them all.

Interviewer: First of all, please tell us the meaning of the title 358/2 Days. Nomura: The title was done on purpose as a code, you can only understand it after beating the game. The word Day, is attached and the progress of the game is to show how the Organization came to be, as well as the daily life of the Organization XIII. They are always faced with the duty from a place, and then have to return. The game will focus around Roxas, who is a member of the Organization. It will be an adventure game, repetition is also one of the concepts of the game. Interviewer: Does the time of the game focus around when Roxas enters Organization XIII, and does it connect to Kingdom Hearts? Nomura: Yes, after Roxas enters Organization XIII, which wll only be a small part of the story, afterwards it will focus around the timeframe when Sora was asleep for the year. Rooxas entering the Organization was not understood yet, but will be explained, and also the duty he is put through everyday. Finally about Roxas' doubts of the Organization and why he leaves the Organization. This is basically the main part of the story. Interviewer: Do you wish to represent something of the 3 works, by having a different color logo on each of the games announced this time? Nomura: The reason why we chose this color for 358/2 days was to use the warm color group as a sunset in Twilight Town. I believe the story in this game will be really sad as well. It should also be noted that some of the scenarios I chose for Kingdom Hearts II Final MIx+ were based off the novel that focused on Roxas, which came in the Kingdom Hearts Another Report. Interviewer: In a way this game will be the same as Zack in Crisis Core, where the future was already decided. Nomura: Yes however, Roxas in Kingdom Hearts wasn't as tragic as Zack's was. Interviewer: Why did you choose the Nintendo DS for this game? Nomura: Well first of all, I always choose a system before developing a plan. There was a plan for multi platforming that could be easily played, so this one made it to the DS. Also, it made it more possible to use the characters of Organization XIII, the project of this work was also meant to make it a story that uatomatically depicted Roxas. Interviewer: It's a Wonderful world took full advantage of the Nintendo DS, will this game do the same? Nomura: It is possible to take advantage of the functions of the DS, however we'll be taking an opposite turn this time. We are aiming that one day it will be possible to play the game, even if it's not just touching your way through. Also because the feeling of Kingdom Hearts' gameplay would be too different the moment the touch pen is used. Interviewer: How about the handling of the Kingdom Hearts series, since it seems you are having a hand in developing the game for the first time? Koji: Production has to be on the spot, while researching on how it can be put onto the Nintendo DS, and be Kingdom Hearts at the same time. Also how the story will become, because besides the fans, a lot of staff in Square-Enix is also looking forward towards them, since there are many fans of Kingdom Hearts in the staff. Also the apperance of the 14th member, will be understood later on. (laughs) Interviewer: Though there is a 14th Organization XIII Member, it appears to be Namine?? Nomura: It is possible to say, but no it's not Namine. Interviewer: Then who is this person? Nomura: In Kingdom Hearts II there was Organization XIII, however even when they had 14 members it was still Organization XIII, the reason why they were never known as XIV even though they had 14 members will be understood in this game. She is a key character. Interviewer: Will Sora and Riku appear in this game at all? Hiroshi:: The scene will appear as well as a battle between Riku and Roxas. As for the situations in the story where Sora's memory is being reconstructed in the chamber where he is sleeping it will be hard for him to be in the game. However the memory will be a key point in this game. However what we don't want to do is emphatically show connections between Roxas and Sora by memories. Interviewer: This time around what will happen with the Disney Worlds? Nomura: The relationships between people will be different as you go through the worlds. Hiroshi: Because the game will be coming from Kingdom Hearts II there will be a lot of things people will be able to relate to, such as Roxas. However the system with the worlds will be a bit different this time around. Such as appearing worlds will be one of the things remaining but not all the worlds will always be avvailble to visit for fun. Interviewer: Will there be a basic game system just like the original Kingdom Heart games? Hiroshi: In a way the game will be the same as the other Kingdom Hearts games, however there are some problems, such as the buttons on the DS. Koji: This is true, because there are not as many buttons on the DS as there are on the other consoles, so it will be hard as you had to make good use of the ****og, the d-pad and the L and R button. We are still examining on what we can do to get passed this. Interviewer: Does the story come together with single mode, and multiplayer mode? Nomura: It is possible to say that there will be no story progress within Multiplayre mode, as that will ruin the progression of the story as well. However the leveling system in single player, and multiplayer are synchronized. The leveling system will have a huge amount of freedom this time as well such as customization which will be on of the best benefits of Multiplayer mode. However Roxas' level will not be transfered over. Interviewer: In Multiplayer mode, can all XIII ORganization members be played? Nomura: Yes, you are able to. Hiroshi: The multiplayer mode will be treated as an alternate world, because there is a member that dissapears in the single player mode as the story advances. Koji: Because the chracters will all have a unique gameplay as they all have different weapons. Though the real concerns are Demyx's Sitar, and Zexion's book. Interviewer: How do you move on with Multiplayer mode? Hiroshi: Basically you will recieve various missions you must clear. There is also a map, and there are alot of gimmicks added into the levels as well. Of course we are also putting bosses in multiplayer mode. Koji We made it so that people can play it many times, and some of the levels are short as well. There is a score attack mode too, to see who can gra it. However incase you don't want to co-operate, we are thinking of adding elements like versus, and competitions. Interview: Will there be a mission when you can be Xemnas, or given one to Xemnas? Nomura: Yes, however there are methods with Xemnas we need to work with. Hiroshi: Yeah, such as with organization XIII, the chair raises when carrying out the comission and lowers when failing. (laughs) Koji: It is a result of multiplayer, and it depends on the stage as well. (laughs) Nomura: I wonder what would happen if Xemnas fails (laughs) Interviewer: In Multiplayer are there other elements? Koji: In the lower screen we are thinking of possibly using the Touch Pen for drawing. If I remember, people can also use drawings on the lower screen. I want to think about a mission that could use this feature. Messages to the Readers Hiroshi: Please look forward to the multiplayer that will be featured in Kingdom Hearts 358/2, also enjoy the other Kingdom Hearts games coming out. Koji: I think it will be very unusual to be able to play as the 13th Organization, however because it is unusual it makes me happy, I want you to look forward tot his. Nomura: Because the story in the game is a critical factor in Kingdom Hearts, it is always natural to play alone, though the multiplayer is also added for natural purposes. It might be a bit difficult to play. We plan to catch the eyes of a lot of poeple, and give this game a feel like "It's a Wonderful World" as well. Why so serious?
|
I remember reading this interview on a different forum, or at least one thats very similar to this one. I dont have much in-game speculation to give right now, maybe Ill do that later, haha =p The second YouTube video you posted, Riku, doesnt work for me. Or rather it does, but it just shows the first screen as the time elapses. Though, the graphics really do look good. When I first saw them I honestly did mistake it for PS2 graphics (they really looked clear and everything), but then I stopped and thought about it and Im like, wait, this is for the DS. So yeah, the graphics look pretty good for being on the handheld, in my opinion. Nomura said this will be more of an adventure game with a lot of repetition (beginning of interview), but Im hoping this isnt boring repetition, haha. I have high hopes for this game, and the fact that Axel will be in my main party just sold the game for me, haha. Yeah, yeah, I know, Im one of those Axel fans, but you have to admit hes got style. But anyway, this game looks superb/sounds superb/should be superb. Thus endeth my semi-rant. -Nephilim |

I realy didnt watch the second video until I watched it. Sorry =( I was realy shocked as well with what they could do with a DS game. It just looks so clear and it has indetical gameplay from other ones. I hope this may be a good repitive thing[I actual veiwed KH 2 as reptitve, but it was still good]. I have not realy been disapointed with any KH's yet, so I have some high expectations for this one. I am also a fan of Axel. He is pretty cool and I love his element and his attacks. Being him and Xigbar pretty much set me wanting to get this, to. I have a code for codebreaker that lets you battle axel as many times as you want, or just let him be on your team, like in betwixt and between[that weird twilight place]. I am just a little bit over half of the game, and I can honestly say I think it is really good. The graphics, the sound/music, and the gameplay is almost the same as the ps2 ones. (A good thing.) I like the custimazation (spelling....) system in this game. You can equip however many abilites you want at once, provided that you have space left on the grids. You Equip magic, items, weapons, acessories, and everything to this grid. If you put one fire onto the grid, that is how many casts you are going to get from it. If you equip more, you get more casts. This is also how the leveling system works. When you gain enough experience to level up, you gain a level up panel, and you have to equip it. Eventually, you get level multipliers you can link these panels up to, and you can gain x2 ,4x multipliers and upwards. Seperate weapons do not exist in this game. Instead, you can purchase or find weapon upgrades, and place them on the board. Depending on how many panels the weapon takes up, you can add enhancments to it, like power upgrades, magic, sheild, and even panels that unlock special abilites in your weapon. Thankfully, when you add these upgrades, you keyblades skin and moveset changes (the movesets in this game are tied to your equiped upgrade), so the game wont get stale. Types of upgrades (so far) - Power upgrades, combo enhancements, magic enhancment, aerial attack enhancments, power and area enhancements, and combos of each. I also like the fact that you can play as every org. member in mission mode. Out of the org. members, Saix, Axel, Xigbar, and Marluxia are my favorites to play as. Besides them, you can also play as Riku, Xion, King Mickey, Sora, Donald, and Goofy. Of course, you have to unlock them first. I just recently unlocked Riku, and I am very pleased with him in this game. His attack speed, power, magic power, and combos are great. I have he has good aerial tracking, so he has no trouble getting from the ground into the air with his attacks. The great thing about this mode is that nearly every level is playable, so you can basicly go through the story several times with each character. (The thing to note about mission mode is that the enemies have triple hp, because this mode is meant to be multiplayer, but can still be played byourself. If you play it, keep this in mind if you are going to decide that some of the other players suck. Its not their fault.) The story has been pretty good so far, too. |

(In the first paragraph below, there is some minor spoilers. The others are fine.) Even if you already played the other games (and therfore knew what was going to happen in the end), this game gives it a pretty good depth. Now that i've finished it, I can say that I liked this games story pretty well. (Out of Kingdom Hearts games, this one is probably the second best, to me.) Finally being able to duel-wield at the end is so awesome. (This game explains why he is able to duel weild, while Sora cant.) As you should also know, Riku is the final boss. (It is debatable whether he is the final boss, or the one before him. Regardless, he is the final fight.). Overall, he isnt too hard, but if you let him use dark aura on you, you = dead. It kills you almost no matter what. After you beat the game, you unlock the zero gear. Pandora + (focuses on excellent combos and damage, usually better weapon abilites), and Zero Gear (Provides each character with signature weapon, has decent combos, and has a higher stat boosts, with supplements providing more of an upgrade if used.) are the best gears in the game. Zero Gear is special for Roxas. The weapon changes in accordance with the ability slots you put into it. With none, it is just a VERY highly upgraded Kingdom Key. With One ability slot, it turns into oathkeeeper. With two, it transforms into Two Becomes One, which is his signature keyblade. If you equip three ability slots in the weapon, he will be able to duel wield in mission mode, almost providing a twentieth character. (When he Duel Wields, he pulls his hood over top of his head, giving him a different look.) Since Xion has the same fighting style and keyblades as him, she will get all of his keyblade abilites except duel wield. When a third ability slot is equipped on her, it will revert back to Kingdom Key+. My thoughts on each character 1. Roxas/ Xion - The Soras of this game. They're fighting style is pretty balanced, but dont really excel at anything, but arent bad at anything. Their combos are pretty good, depending on the weapon. Their limit breaks are one of the best, and it is pretty awesome. Obviously, they're movesets have the most depth, because Roxas is the main character, and has the most effort put into him. B 2. Xemnas - He is actually pretty good. He has some of the highest stats in the game, and it shows, in some areas. His attacks do decent damage, he is pretty proficient in magic, has high hp and defense ect. One drawback, I suppose, is that his attacks are slightly slow. Not the slowest, but not the fastest. His other drawback is his limit break, sucks, big time. It doesnt do enough damage, and it is hard to hit with. C+ 3. Xigbar - Good, but hard to use. His attacks are fast, deal okay damage, but since they are at a distance, you have an advantage over the enemy. He will be able to dodge many attacks because of this. On the flip side, his attacks are hard to hit with. His Limit is nearly useless against flying enemies, and useless against nearly all bosses. The reason being, his attack is him shooting one huge bullet straight in front of him, and you cannot aim up or down, only to the sides. B- 4. Xaldin - Awesome, and easy to use. Good, balanced stats, good combos. His pandora weapon combo is godly, if every blow lands. His attack speed is fairly good, along with his weapon. Has a good block. His limit break is pretty average, but would be better if you had an easier time hitting something with it. B 5. Vexen - The best of the pure magic users, I suppose. He has a below average attack stat, but much higher than the other magic users. But, his magic is slightly below the others. His decent defense, coupled with his other decent stats make him okay. His combos are usless, unless the finisher lands. If it doesnt land, you will do little to no damage. Limit Break is above average. B- 6.Lexaeus - Does GODLY damage. Has very awesome H.P, defense, and attack. His combos are very short, but takes up to two bars of health depending on what you are fighting, even with the tripled h.p. His Limit is pretty good, espicially the final portion of it. He charges up a hughe rock/stone sword, jumps, and slams it for mighty damage, even against bosses. His drawbacks, is his VERY low magic stat, slightly critical stats, and rather slow attacks. Those are minor, compared to what you get in return. A 7.Zexion - Not much to say on him, except that his attacks suck (unless it is pandoras gear), then they become good enough to be satisified. Has very high Magic, the second highest in the game. Has stats on the lower side, with his attack being very terrible. (With most weapons. Some are pretty decent.) His limit is excellent when it hits, (if it does). The damage it does is actually random, but is usually on the high side. During the attack, he floats in the middle of the air, and reads out of his book, while dark sphere-like things rain from the sky. . B- 8.Saix - Great. His stats, save for three, are in the very high catergory. (His others are servicable.) Has a very high chance for critical hits, gets a huge bonus for them, has good strenght, h.p, ect. His combos are short and sweet, but deal a good amout of damage. Limit sucks huge time, though. It is to hard to use, which has been noted by many people. B+ 9. Axel - Even though Roxas and Xion are supossed to be the balance characters, he does a better job at that. His stats are slightly different, but comes out being better than them. His combos, like Saix's, are straight to the point, but are slightly longer. (One attack extra, maybe.) His limit is great, and does good damage. He tosses one his chakrams as a huge flaming disk, that goes straight through enemies, and durring final limit, he tosses them both, which creates hge flame pillars as an after effect, dealing massive damage. A- 10.Demyx - Alright. His combos, espicially on the final weapons, are kind of cool (bashing people with sitars is awesome). His stats are pretty low, but has a higher magic stat, although not as high as the (pretty much) pure mages. I perfer him to the mages, because he has above average magic, with decent stats. (That they lack.) Limit break can range from terrible to good, because it is slightly hard to hit with. B- 11.Luxord - He is interesting. He also acts as a balanced character, but is inferior by just abit to the other balanced ones. Since he fights with cards, he is unique. He does good damage, which is shocking because of his weapon. His Omega Gear is excellent. If you equip three ability slots, he has a pretty high chance of inlicting burn or freezing someone, in any normal hit. Very useful. His other stats are decent, with magic being his best, by just a little. His limit takes some getting used to, but when you get the hang of it, it does massive damage. B 12.Marluxia - Pretty good. He has a cool fighting style, that is usually pretty fast (despite what the character selection screen says.). His combos do almost no damage, until the final hit lands. The final does pretty great damage, and greatly out does what he did in the hit before. His stats are all fine. His limit break also takes some time to learn the feel for, but is worth it in the end. When used against a boss, it is nearly useless, though. B- 13. Larxene - Her attacks are lighting quick. They dont do much damage, but make up for it in their speed. Her magic is rather high, but the rest of her stats are rather low. Most of her combos seem the same, but that is fine. Her limit is definitly in the top five best in the game, maybe even the best. It does massive damage in the final limit portion. B 14. Donald - Pathetic. His magic is the best in the game, but that doesnt make up for his VERY awful stats. His limit sucks, his combos suck, end of story. D 15. Goofy - Much better than Donald. His overall stats are pretty good, but has a weak magic stat. His combos doesnt change much, but they are very effective (for the most part), besides his wild card air attack. It can either be very good, or very bad, depending on the enemy. Has a pretty good limit, but not the best. His running and gliding animations are kind of funny. B- 16. Mickey - Slightly less awesome than he was in KH2, but still very awesome. He has good combos, good stats, good everything. His ground attack is basicly a crowd control attack, which is great. He almost reminds me of Yoda (from star wars) due to his fighting style, and size. His limit break is great. It is similiar to the "Pearl" magic attack in KH2. He basicly keeps raining down streams of light down, and it does great damage. He is one of my favorite characters to use. A+ 17. Riku - My favorite character, but I am biased toward him. *Points to my name*. His great overall stats. His three weapons, Souleater, Oblivion, and Way to dawn, are all great. Oblivion and Way to Dawn share some attacks with each other, like the final downward strike in the aerial combo, but they are both pretty different. Their combos are great, and are good on ground and air. His limit is awesome. It is almost like Dark Aura at first, but changes into him using the energy swords seen in his KH2 limit with sora. He is a great character. A+ (To me, Riku seems to have the most work put into him out of the four bonus characters. I come to this conclusion because all three of his weapons have nearly completly different combos, while the others may not have more than two combo sets, and theirs just has the attacks modified slightly, like Mickey's Star Seeker.) 18. Sora - What you would expect, but better. Frankly, I wish he was like this in the console games. This game makes you work to unlock him, and it is ALMOST worth it. He has three weapons, which are: the original Kingdom Key, Bond of Flames (the keyblade he gets from Axel in KH2), and the dream sword. He has stats almost identical to Roxas, but has one or two stat areas that are better by only a little bit. His limit is him using the ragnarock attack from KH1, but on steroids.
