If I have a Vanquishing Light and a Lightsworn Monster on the field and my opponent activates Vayu - The Emblem of Honor to remove from play Synchro Material Monsters to Summon Armed Wing, Could I activate Vanquishing Light thus tributing MY Lightsworn Monster to pay the activation cost and negate the summon of Armed Wing? Vanquishing Light negates the Summon of a Monster and I was just wondering if it would work. We had a question at Locals yesterday about it and I was just wondering. We have judges that either dont know what they are talking about or bend rulings to their benefit. |

Off the top of my head i want to say no, it doesn't work. I believe you would have to negate/stop vayu's effect in order to stop the summon. I could very much be wrong tho. I'm very rusty on my rulings. |

Any monster that is special summoned through the effect of another card can only be negated by cards that specifically mention that they negate the effect of a card that special summons a monster, ie. Royal Oppression, Solemn Warning A card that only negates the summon of a monster can only work against Inherent Special Summons, ie. Judgment Dragon, Cyber Dragon, Synchro Summons. |
