Ok so I have a question with tengu, also decided that since this card both confuses and annoys the grape out of me, might want to make a discussion thread for rulings with this gay card. My question, I warning/oppression/ judgment/ any cardthat negates a summon. Does the opponent still get another tengu? Post answers and other questions below. no one, no one at all?... I too have been seeing people with troubles with this card, and have been learning all about it ( fun fun fun). Rebon Tengu requires that he be " removed from the field" for his effect to activate. Any summon negators will mean he never technically hits the field, which in turn means he is never removed from the field. Therefore Tengu cannot activate when its summon is negated. Also, to answer questions before they are asked, Tengu WILL NOT activate when he is removed from the field: A) Face Down, he will activate if attacked and destroyed by battle. B) And sent back to the deck, monster effects can never activate in the deck. Any other situation though and he is gravy. |

Dartz pretty much covered it. Along with being spun to the deck while face-down, also being bounced to the hand face-down is a no go. |

Yep, face up or face down, if Tengu goes from the field to the deck It won't activate. |

Here's a question me and a friend of mine were discussing about Reborn Tengu that some people seem to have a split opinion on. Say your opponent takes control your Reborn Tengu, and it gets removed from the field while under your opponents control. Me and my friend both have thought about this and we personally believe that Reborn Tengu resolves where it ends up. (I.E. if it gets bounced to the hand via Genex All Birdman then Tengu Resolves in the hand etc) , so the actual owner of Reborn Tengu should always get the effect. Tho some people believe that he resolves on the field. I'm pretty positive me and my friend have this right but I haven't bothered to look at the offical rulings for him yet, nor do I know if they have even made one for that circumstance yet. So i was just wondering if someone knew for sure about this. |

Yep, your spot on. Reborn Tengu will both activate and resolve wherever he ends up, hence why the original controller of Reborn Tengu will get his effect, no matter what side of the field he was. |

it's because it says when this card is removed from the field, and that condition doesnt get met until it returns to the original owner |

Yeah it all makes perfect sense to me. I just wanted to double check and make sure. I stopped judging events after konami took over becuase i'm lazy and never bothered to retake the test. but to say the least i haven't kept on on ruleings like i use to so I wanted to be positive befor I started telling people they're wrong lol. |
