Coming to Wii, PS2 and PSP. Bit surprising no PS3 and 360, maybe seems like they don't wanna disappoint us.

Loved the first game, even though I got stuck. Can't wait to see how they make the controls work with the Wiimote. Anybody else have the first game?

Never played the original.

Seems a really strange release tbh, Wii and PS2. Rockstar have never made much for Nintendo and Nintendo have never been very interested in having Rockstar release games on there Consoles.

Are we talking about sadistically killing people with the Wii remote motion sensing. The Daily Mail reporters will be out-raged...

New details here

On Wii, you act out the execution with a series of gestures timed to on-screen cues. If you're cutting into a man's skull with a saw, which you sometimes do, you might have to make a forward/backward motion with the Wii remote, hit the B trigger to a visual cue, and then gesture quickly upward with both controllers to put the finishing touches on the attack.

Haha, brilliant. Can't wait for this, even if it will probably get taken off the shelves.

Sorry guys looks like you won't be able to get it:

It's been BANNED by the BBFC!

Scary Stuff but tbh the amount of critisism that this would get for being on the Wii would have been unbelievable. Think of the children, slicing peole's throats with the Wiimote

That is one of the worst things that could happen to gaming. That is really shit, was looking forward to that too.

Must really be a blow to develop a game that far to only have it banned.

No doubt this will be all over the news and they'll manage to get interviews from people who have no idea about gaming, much like the Resistance case

They dare do this to GTA IV

Is there a way around it? Can US Wii games be played on an EU Wii?

Sums it up really, just making a point to show they actually do a job. I dunno why someone over 18 can't decide for themselves whether they want to purchase such a game or not.

Cleared for US Launch?

Quote:

After receiving an adults-only rating earlier this year, Rockstar decided to temporarily suspend the release of their title Manhunt 2. Today, Rockstar announced the new M-rating they received after submitting a modified version of the game to the ESRB board, meaning gamers of 17 years or older can buy their title.

"Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we're glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience," said Sam Houser, founder and executive producer of Rockstar Games. "We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it."

This ruling gives UK and therefore European gamers in general a bit more hope in gaining a classification to allow Manhunt 2 to be sold in their respective countries.

IGN hands-on with the new version. Sounds great. Wonder if they'll let them release it here?

No?

The Manhunt 2 journey has been a long one, which saw it to be the first ever game to receive the unenviable AO rating, and accordingly rejected from release on both Sony and Nintendo's consoles. Since then, Rockstar took the game back, edited out the nasty bits, and resubmitted it to the BBFC hoping to get the green light. While this version was passed as acceptable by the USA's rating body and is set for a release near Halloween, the game has been yet again stopped from a UK release.

David Cooke, director of the BBFC said: "The impact of the revisions on the bleakness and callousness of tone, or the essential nature of the gameplay, is clearly insufficient. There has been a reduction in the visual detail in some of the 'execution kills', but in others they retain their original visceral and casually sadistic nature."

Rockstar have announced they will continue to appeal against the decision, and refused to edit the game even more then already has been done. The BBFC seem pretty decisive this time though, so you can't help but feel Rockstar are clutching at straws.

Thankfully, due to the laid back laws in Holland, the original, uncut version of the game will be released and available in PAL format for the whole of Europe.
