"It has been agreed that production of both Eight Days and The Getaway will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget. This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion." This comes only several weeks after it was confirmed that Eight Days was entering full production. No indication has been made if the development will ever restart at a later date or under a new studio. One thing that is for sure, is that this news will come as a major dissapointment for many PS3 owners. Gutted, loved The Getaway really. One the reasons i invested in a PS3. What happaned to LA Noire and Mafia II? Was really looking forward to those as well. Hopefully we'll get some more FP Alien Shooterz instead.

Really gritty and you could tell a lot of time went in to it. They know the big bucks are at Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 though. As you said, they're alien FPS's and they're sequels to mediocre games. The NuZ's of the world will snap them up. And I don't think anything has in particular 'happened' to LA Noire and Mafia 2, they were announced probably quite early in development. Looking forward to them. THE MORE GTA CLONES THE BETTER I SAY!
