Those waiting for more Grand Theft Auto IV content will have to wait a little bit longer. According to Take-Two's Fiscal Q3 2008 report, the first batch of GTA IV downloadable content will be coming in Q1 of fiscal 2009, instead of the originally planned Q4 of fiscal 2008. In real calendar terms, that means the DLC, which is rumored to include whole new cities, is due between November 1, 2008, and January 31, 2009.

The reason behind the delay, according to Take-Two, was to "provide a better balance in Take-Two's release schedule." The statement specifically mentioned Xbox 360, with no talk of content for the PS3.

Any thoughts on the DLC now, after completing the game or getting pretty far?

Anyone really think this will be a new city? Will it still be Niko? Will it be a lame mission pack?

I'd love to see Las Venturas at some point again, with the bright lights, the ties to the mob, it would be a perfect setting for its own game of DLC.

Well they're calling it 'episodic', so pretty much think it will be missions. Don't know how they can incorporate any new islands. Don't think they'll do the lame thing of 'ooh lets fly to another city', although there is quite a few references to the previous places in there, but that's just typical GTA.

If they do missions, I'm not sure how they'll do it considering the choices you could have made.

I reckon you could be playing another character, maybe along the time-line of the original games events. You might see Niko on a mission somewhere or something.

I think it being Rockstar it could be something clever like that.

Maybe at E3? The longer it goes, more likely its gonna be something substantial though.

Could be a classic Rockstar bluff though. Should pick this up 2nd hand for 360 i think.

GTAIV DLC Announced: "Lost And Damned", Out In Feb 09

A USA Today report is the setting for the announcement of Grand Theft Auto IV's long-awaited piece of downloadable content. Titled "Lost and Damned", the DLC will be available on February 19, and will leave Niko's story behind (though he will make a few cameo appearances) to follow the exploits of Johnny Klebitz, a member of the Lost biker gang that the game's radio channels liked to talk about so much. Rockstar's Dan Houser:

Quote:

Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background. I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.

The USA Today report also says the expansion will "let you download more sandbox time", Houser elaborating "We feel like we've only scratched the surface in terms of the depth and detail in [Liberty City]".

Cheers Brad. Time to get myself a second hand copy of the 360 version then.

Sounds good, don't remember too much of that character though really.

When Gamestop published a price on GTA IV: The Lost and Damned they were spot on. Rockstar has confirmed that it will cost you 1600 Microsoft Points to download the expansion from Xbox Live Marketplace.

The expansion will be ready for download February 17th. If you want to check the price in real money then head over to http://www.mspconverter.com/.

1600 MP is a bit over-priced compared to what expansions like that usually cost, but Rockstar promises us that it will be worth the money. The Lost and Damned will offer one third of what Grand Theft Auto IV did – if so, that’s well worth the money!

In this expansion we will follow the biker Johnny Klebitz, which is part of The Lost gang. The game will take place in Liberty City.

* Exclusive new features include: All-new missions and a new storyline that interweaves with the original story arc of Grand Theft Auto IV.
* Play as Johnny, a member of The Lost Motorcycle Club. Experience Liberty City now with the perspective and lifestyle of a member of a biker gang.
* Added range of weapons - including the all-new grenade launcher and sawed-off shotgun. New weapons will be available for use in single-player and in all new multiplayer modes.
* New vehicles - featuring a collection of bikes that include Johnny's own customized heavy-duty chopper.
* New and improved bike handling and physics.
* Set of new action-packed multiplayer modes - details coming soon.
* All-new in-game TV, internet and radio content featuring new radio shows and original music.

Note: The expansion will only be available to gamers who own an Xbox 360 and a copy of GTA IV.

Awesome DLC, only had a chance to play for 30 mins but its excellent. I love the film grain as well, really fits the mood, everything changes, the intro, the radar, the menu's. And im interested by the story thus far.

Is it me but are the graphics a lot tighter than either GTA IV on 360 and PS3? The character models just look a lot better and less obvious flaws.

Can't wait to play some more, but im off to see Brighton in an hour. :P

OMG, anyone got to Hit the Pipe yet? Its just impossible, im not even getting close to completing it.

You gotta throw Pipe bombs at 3 vans, so you just have to ride a bike, hold LB to cook a pipe bomb, be on the right of the van because you just lob them left, whilst a guy shoots out the window.

AAAAAAAARGHH.
