From the closed beta, they certainly haven't picked the pace up which is a shame, you really need to holding R2 until gun-fights people, otherwise you feel like a snail. Wat yo fink den? |

How appropriate. You fight like a cow.
|
Its a bit slow paced, the sniping doesn't feel as heavy, it keeps taking ages to get into a game, the menus run very slowly too so it makes it really annoying when you're in the armoury. Other than that, its quite fun. Crossroads seems a lot taller and spacious than before. [EDIT]: I've managed to get in 1 game out of 5 now. 2 of them crashed on the loading screen, one just crashed after saying I've been disconnected from the game, and one just wouldn't start even that there were 32 people all ready to go. Just slightly annoying. Edited by Pilch, Sep 5 2008, 07:34 PM.

It's not Christmas!
|
I like it. Having not played Socom II I only have Socom 3 to compare it too and it's miles better so far.Same problems as most people, taking ages to load games and some menus. I don't really mind the lack of speed too much as the map is much smaller than a S3 map (well it seems to be from memory) so it's much tighter. What's with not being able to run and have night-vision on? Overall a thumbs up. I'm sure they will fix these problems (that's the point of this demo/beta anyway) so looking good!

Hope they were gonna make a few more changes from the Closed Beta tbh, its all been cosmetic really though, animations and blurs etc. = / Enjoying it more though, because i didn't really dive into the closed beta, its more fun playing with [ZP]. Crossroads Night looks amazing. Night Vision is a bit gay though, would rather first person instead of over the shoulder. Hate the music as well, SII and S3 had some amazing orchestral scores, everytime you hear them it brings back memories and never got annoying in the menu's tbh. Come, come, nuclear bomb...
|
Slowly getting more used to it and finding it better. Is loads slower, but I don't think it's so bad. Takes ages to load. Crossroads at night was dark so I had to turn the brightness on my TV up. Other than that, 2 thumbs up out of 2 thumbs from me. P.S. I like shouting boo behind people then killing/attempting to kill them.

Afraid my wireless connection wont let me play without serious lag. Havent had a chance to test any action. Got a few mins running around and checking the controls and stuff, so i got the feel of it, but cant play properly. Guna look into a 10 metre ethernet cable tomorrow ![]() Feels nice, but different. |

Played for an hour this morning, feels strange, but that what happens when been playing first person. got a bit of lag running, if its lag? screen just stopping for a moment. 6axis lean a bit hit and miss. hit detectionn seems better than before graphics not as good as i thought they would be, but i'm waiting for delivery of a HDMI cable, so hopefully will improve them. old USB headset does not work, so NO comms for BETA, but i will be getting one with game obv. apart from all that, i think when we all get used to it it will be GREAT Oh and got 20 kills 26 deaths, finish top of my team ( not usual for me) so was pleased with first attempt

The actual gameplay i like a lot, possibly because ive been playing a lot of xroads on socom 2 lately, and seem to be running circles around most people now ive got the hang of the controls and aiming, which is fun, whats putting me off right now is the ridiculos load times/sounds drops/freezes/fps issues/menus/dodgy comms. Once that is all sorted i can see myself playing this a lot, its not quite old socom, but it's still good fun. |

Nah, shouldn't be a problem, what comms you using, Socom 2? Have you used them before on PS3? You need to select them in chat options or something? Not sure. |

A few things need changing. The team switch-over is so un-necessary, biased maps were part of the fun of Socom. Round Count in Even numbers, no tie-breaker, not even CoD and Rainbow Six have games which end in draws, do they? Password Rooms, part of the thing i hate about 360 matches are faffing about adding people to Friends List and sending invites. Also with the Friends / Clan list you can't tell where people are playing. =/ I've put Light-Armour on my legs and taken some grenades off and im liking the speed a bit more now. |

I like it , Aiming is really different (wtf I can't shoot a mile away standing up??oneone?) but after a while getting used to it I actually like the power of the shooting.Beta problems in connections are starting to really annoy and hopefully they will do some hotfixes (we can always hope). Overall It promises to be a worthy purchase. |

King of the Impossible!
|
I like it. There are quite a few annoyances/little things missing, such as: - passworded rooms - being able to lean lying down - being able to hear people through the tv - That press L3 message while spectating - go aways! - not being able to tell where friends are playing (kinda defeating the point of a friends list) - armour ![]() - character creation was a bit of a let down due to the 3 type of armour system thang. - not being able to rotate charaacter in character create =( - menu options changing too quickly! - no orchestral theme =( - Not being able to just hold select for the scoreboard - Accidentally tapping L2 and being forced to taunt/order peoples ![]() - Not being able to run whilst using inventory. - Having to use SIXAXIS to do things I'm liking the new Crossroads, some of the changes they have made are kwite nice, although they've gotten rid of a lot of the jumps in the level? Sprinting and knifing isn't nearly as harmful to the gameplay as I expected, but neither one adds anything to it. The calendar is a nice idea, I presume clan matches etc get posted on there. Grafix r pretty too! Overall es bueno, and hopefully with the full version they'll iron out the creases. Can't wait to play with Zed Pee. =D Edited by NuZ, Sep 6 2008, 06:16 PM.

I'm liking the comms thru TV, and i was really skeptical about it. It really adds a heightened awareness and tension when you hear someone. And also when i'm trying to be sneaky and get behind people, i don't use the comms to make sure no-one else gets that heightened awareness. I gotta say, i like it. Of course, its bound to be abused my some ten year old thinking making loud obnoxious noises is funny. You can also hear Xaine humming away to himself.
