God that is a crappy console. I played some 360 last weekend for the first time in ages, and jeez, the sounds that can is making. I've been lucky and managed to avoid the RRoD, but most of my discs look like I've washed them in a washing machine... Scratched 4 life. |

Apparently it's out of warranty, but they're going to repair it for free becuase it's coverd by their 3 year extended warranty.  I asked about a free gift as a good will gesture because I heard people had done the same and been offered free controllers, games and charger kits. No such luck for me though, although he did upgrade my delivery to express. Now I only have to wait 2 weeks for a replacement instead of 3. He also said I would recieve a brand new console instead of a repaired one and a months free XBL. |

Doh, me too. Second one for me. Froze on me 3 times today, 3rd time restarted and i've got 3 red lights. Am i still covered by the 3 year extended warranty, when they announced they were stopping the extended warranty, did they mean on all new 360's and the old ones would still be covered? |

We were told at work, you either have a ABC (Accidental breakdown cover) on you're console from the retailer you purchased it from, or you're screwed pretty much Microsoft turn everyone down now. Might want to give them a ring and explain the whole situation though. |

Working again now. And not by using the towel thing. No wait, the picture just cut out whilst on the dashboard. It doesn't do the RRoD all the time, im worried they're gonna end up trying to charge me for a repair. Edited by JimmyJumble, Apr 9 2009, 01:05 PM.

Mine was still covered by the 3 year warrantry, so i purposely made the 360 get 3 red lights, and sent it off

First time i've played a game on my (semi)new 360 which wasn't installed to the HDD, the disc tray noise is unbelievable. lol. |

Think this is turning into a Jimmy's general complaints/annoyances thread. Anyone ever had any problems with their recharge packs on their controllers, mines losing charge so quickly, pretty much everytime after i've 'fully charged' its losing charge quickly, mainly when i leave it off for a few days. Will a new battery pack sort my problems? As its getting pretty annoying. Mines Plug and Play btw. |

I have the same problem and I've got the plug in charger. Seems to do it randomly though, new play and charge kit will probably sort it out though. P.S. You're definitely getting moaner of the year again.
