Sign up and fill in a survey and you could get an opportunity to test out Twitter, Facebook and Zune before release.

I went through it, isn't too much bother.

Want Sky tbh.

Don't think I'll be linking my Gamertag to my facebook account. SKY is released on the 27th.

Yeah, signed up yesterday. Got Virgin Media instead of Sky. Would see if I could change over but I can't imagine I'd use the Sky stuff to be honest.

It seems like one of the chaps over at Neowin.net has uncovered a few juicy bits of information coming from http://xbox.sky.com in all the XML data that feeds the Sky Player. To me, that literally means nothing - after all, I'm no techie when it comes to this sort of stuff, but speaking to our coding expert Aleks (AKA Routine), it looks pretty legit.

So what does it tell us? Well, aside from the channel listing and clear as mud price listing, the Xbox 360 Sky Player doesn't seem to be as free to Sky subscribers as they initially made out...
Channel Listing

G.O.L.D
Sky Real Lives
Sky Arts 1
Sky Movies 1 & 2
Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 and Xtra
Sky Sports News
British Eurosport
ESPN
ESPN Classic
Sky News
National Geographic
National Geographic Wild
History
Eden
Cartoon Network
Boomerang
Disney Channel

According to the site also, "Sky 1 is missing from the Live channel list but under "TV on demand" Sky 1, Baby TV and Biography are listed."

Price Plan

Non Sky customers can subscribe on a minimum monthly basis which allows access to selected live channels and a selection of TV on demand. You can also rent or buy single episodes with no commitment.

The Sky Player TV Entertainment pack will cost £15 a month - includes live broadcast of over 20 channels (including National Geographic, ESPN Classic, G.O.L.D. and Disney Channel).

You can upgrade to include movies and sport for an additional cost (not specified though).

The Shocking Truth

Sky Player on your Xbox is only free to Sky subscribers who have subscribed to a Sky Multiroom account and/or a Sky Broadband Unlimited account.

All other Sky TV subscribers can subscribe to watch live TV on their Xbox 360 Sky Player for an extra £9.75 a month... something that Microsoft and Sky failed to highlight in the build up to its release. Probably because it's frankly ridiculous.

Despite it looking legit, we'll chalk it down as a rumour for now. We'll update you when we hear more though, but it does look like the Sky and Microsoft partnership isn't going to be as popular as once thought.

Disapointing if true, very in fact. At £10 a month, it would be the same cost just to get Sky Multiroom and get the complete Sky package, instead of this limited one into my room.

Sky Player is out.

Are you a Sky Subscriber? Yes

Are you a Xbox Live Gold Member? Yes

Do you have Sky Multiroom or Sky Unlimited Braodband? No

Ok, we need more money then. What a joke. Its £9.75 a month for me, if you don't have Sky it doesn't seem to say what it costs, looks like £15 a month or about a £1 per programme.

You pay the same price for a Limited Sky Service on Sky Player, compared to paying the same for Sky Multiroom, you just need to pay £50 for another Sky Box and get the full Sky Service. Only advantage of the Player is on demand really.

Bit of a fail if you ask me.

Finally got signed in. I can get All the On-Demand stuff for free, which is like a selection of Movies, Entertainment shows and old footie games. Its not thaaaat extensive though. Might be useful for Lost and 24 in the future though.

Gotta pay for Live TV though. Can't see it being anywhere near worth it, i watch all the live Sport downstairs with my Dad anyway and the only other interesting channels are MTV and Sky One. Might be worth it for the Footie if you don't currently have Sky though.

Nah, i don't think so, you'd have to get the Sports package, but looking at the prices, its prolly not worth it, you'd be better off just getting Sky anyway. Thats why this all doesn't make much sense, people would only be paying £10 more or so to get the full thing. =/

Not sure where i read about the one off charges, i think its just on Entertainment programs tho. They'd best not charge for Lost and 24 on Demand, on top of the Sky sub.

Greedy bastards.

Look at what? The actual Player on 360? It was unavailable because earlier it wasn't working, i can only get it by looking at my previous downloads. That was a couple of hours ago.

All the info is on the Xbox and Sky websites.
