Looks like the 'Back to Karkand' won't only be classic Battlefield 2 maps as i thought. Wake Island from Battlefield 1942 & 1943 is included.

Looks a bit like Battlefield Bad Company 3 tbh, the hud looks the same anyway. Not a bad thing really, but it doesn't look like the MP will play very differently.

Last week at E3 was amazing for Battlefield 3, but there was one question that stood out from the rest of the pack: When do we get to see Battlefield 3 on consoles? Well, you may want to pay attention to this next bit...

This Thursday night (June 16), Battlefield 3 will be appearing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but more importantly, we’ll be playing the game on the PlayStation 3. That’s right! We’ll be giving you the world premiere of Battlefield 3 on consoles this Thursday night when DICE’s Johan Dohl takes the stage and gives Jimmy the first crack at Battlefield 3 for the PlayStation 3.

so should be some videos of BF3 on PS3 out tomorrow then....

Quadrupleposting!

Battlefield on PS3. The video itself doesnt really offer perfect quality, but gotta say it looks good.

When Jimmy shoots the guy on the balcony, isn't the wall breaking a little to much, to easy?

I think they would have simplified or put the game on easy. They've had games on all week, MW3, Gears 3 and Uncharted 3, they all looked like the AI was going easy on Jimmy.

Very very interesting read, especially if you like me are a bit interested in something else than all out warfare in open terrain; tight infantry combat

...Battlefield 3 is going to be our best Battlefield yet. The Frostbite 2 game engine not only lets us build spectacular multiplayer maps – it also lets us populate those maps with wildly differing kinds of environments. The classic Battlefield multiplayer map would be an open type terrain, fit for tanks, helicopters, and other vehicles to take part in the action. Now, we will take the fight to dense urban environments as well, painting a stark contrast to the more open rural gameplay...

...Fans of the series can rest assured that both Conquest and Rush game modes are back, bolder and more beautiful than ever. Complementing these with Team Deathmatch means there are now even more ways to play Battlefield. From all-out vehicle warfare to tight infantry combat, it’s all about your current mood and your preferred play style. And this is far from everything we have waiting for you in the multiplayer component of Battlefield 3 -- we will return shortly to talk about more multiplayer modes and new features that change how you can play the game...

Tbh the wide open maps is what i like about BF and why i prefer Conquest over Rush, Rush is always tight corridors and a lot of respawning, whereas on Conquest you can try and reach another flag and turn the game on its head. Its why Vietnam was always my fav, because of the dense jungle you could really sneak around.

I'm glad if the whole squad mentatlity has gone though, or at least let us have more than 4 people at a time!

Tbh the wide open maps is what i like about BF...
I wouldn't say I dislike open maps and the gameplay that comes with BF in forms of tanks, cars and helicopters, I just thought while playing the last two BF:BC's that these games have superior sound, amazing gameplay and awesome destructability features, why not throw in a few small maps with focus on a more small scale battle?

That would make it as good, or better as the other shooters out there + the option to play big scale which they are alone to offer.

I think it can be quite boring coming on online, alone, joining a game of +30 unknown players with crappy coms on a mega battlefield, getting 50 kills but still not doing any real difference.
With a bunch of clan mates along that's a whole different story.

But I'm really hoping for this one to also offer some "standard shooter" types of games.
