DICE has announced release dates and launched the first trailer for upcoming Battlefield 3 DLC expansion Aftermath.

Set in "the shattered districts, streets and cities of post-earthquake Iran", Aftermath will introduce new weapons, vehicles and multiplayer game modes.

DICE says of the DLC: "Players will struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation, with heavily modified vehicles and the all-new crossbow at their disposal.

"Battlefield 3: Aftermath features all multiplayer game modes from the base game, plus the all-new Scavenger mode. In Scavenger mode, lost soldiers start equipped with only a knife, one grenade, and sidearm and must search the environment for more powerful weapons to increase their chance at surviving and eventually winning."

Priced at $14.99, Aftermath will be released for PS3 Battlefield Premium members on November 27. Xbox 360 and PC Premium subscribers will get access on December 4, all other PS3 players on December 11, and everyone else on December 18.

I got aftermath the other day... have only tried 2 maps, but I really think they're excellent.
Urban city maps with lots of rubble and ruins. Lots of fun.

Someone else got it?

I've got Premium, just put it on to download.

Tried Close Quarters for the first time as well. The scrap warehouse is a pretty sweet map. Domination seemed good, unfortunately the server was switching between that and TDM tho, never really enjoyed TDM on BF3.

Honestly, I don't think I've played all CQ maps yet.
Scrap warehouse is good though... I enjoyed the gunmaster (?) mode...
(All vs. all, Everyone starts with a pistol, and you get better guns for every kill. First person to reach like, level 25 wins)
A fun different mode and a break from the big battles.

Armored Kill was... so, so. I Love big maps, but I dont know if these maps are to big for consoles, with less players than PC. Pretty good maps, but so much time spent watching the scenery on your own.

But the two maps I played on Aftermath has been quality. Not to big, not to small, and pretty good layout in general.

Buck, I hadn't played it either in a couple of months. Been enjoying Flashpoint: Red river offline during x-mas... but I could probably put in a few hours on aftermath.

Wow! The crossbow is pretty sweet.
Brings a new dimension to all classes...

For anyone not played/tried it, the xbow unlocks not as a weapon, but as an accessory.
So you'll equip it on any class instead of the M320 as assault, or instead of C4/claymore, or instead of RPG/Stinger... or that radar thingy on recon class.

And the nice thing is the bow is equipped with 10 arrows, and you can switch what kind of arrow just as you switch fire mode on your main weapon.
So you'll have 10 arrows that can be "sniper arrows", explosives, sonar or one-hit-kill-arrows.

While none of the arrows is better than the accessory it replaces, it gives you a pretty decent over all capability, with possibility to snipe, do damage to tanks and put out sonar support all in one loadout, and of course you still have your main gun to mow down enemies o the run with.
