Link So, beta is dated for Feb 3rd-8th. Heard there's gonna be 2 maps and 2 modes, being hotwired and conquest. Can't wait for this game. =D |

Anyone played much of the beta? Thoughts? Played for a couple of hours last night. It's a bit limited with one different game mode for each of the 3 maps. Played some conquest and heist. Think they've nailed the new setting with it still feeling like a Battlefield game. Time to kill seems low though, sometimes you don't seem to have much opportunity to have a gun fight. Heist seems a bit hectic, with lots of flanking routes, but I suppose that's just a matter of understanding the map and the game mode. No idea why Hacker mode aka commander mode is back. :/ |

Heist is great. Definitely my preferred mode of the ones I have played so far. Playing on my own I've just been trying to flank and try new approaches and use various gadgets, but this is definitely a mode where well organised teams will do well. Someone planting explosives, someone covering, someone lining up the escape route via zipline etc. It's good tactical gameplay. I hope there's a hardcore one life version of this game mode. Hotwire I dont get. As a thief you have to steal random cars and then just drive them around in circles racking up points and trying to avoid being blown up by the police. Not for me, bit naff. Conquest is ok. Probably better than BF4 just because you're not constantly being bombarded by gunships and bullshit. The one map they have at the moment though is really open and very sniper friendly. Wasn't too impressed with the Alpha, but I feel a bit better after playing this and heist. |

A few things about attachments I've just found out. Compensator and Muzzle Break have actually swapped around from BF4. So you want the Compensator to control vertical recoil! Although the Heavy Barrel is the best option as it will control your vertical and horizontal recoil (to a lesser extent than the compensator and muzzle break), but it affects your movement speed whilst aiming I think. One thing I didn't realise is that extended mags actually increases your hip fire and ads recoil, so I'd actually go without, doesn't sound worth the extra 5 bullets! In terms of grips, stubby grip only helps your accuracy when standing still, just something to be aware of. Looking forward to making some changes to my guns tonight, as I've been running extended mags and muzzle break. |

Don't have the game yet, but always the best place for exact data: Weapons: http://symthic.com/bf-hardline-weapon-charts?secondaries=1&enforcer=1&profess=1&operator=1&mechanic=1&sort=Class&adsc=DESC Attachments: http://symthic.com/bf-hardline-attachments The attachment data will probably be added to the wepons section soon, as soon as it's been verified. That way you can add and attachment to a gun in the weapon chart, and see the effect. |

Yeah! I was around on that site when it was basically only one guy (Symthic) that had pulled all the data files from BF3 and made it into a diagram for weapons. Then all kind of geeks joined and they must've put countless hours into making programs and applications that can for example simulate the accuracy for weapon x with attachment y + z for 2000 rounds. But it's a great little site/community if you like hard data, like they say: "We're a community that love being gaming scientists and helping others by saying things like, "up to 11.525 meters that weapon will 1 hit kill with a headshot" as opposed to "yeah that gun feels good, nahh that one doesn't". |
